Sometimes there were small flashes, in the darkest places of her parallel soul's mind, something from another story, and another timeline. In the worst nightmares of her life, she could see it, and almost feel it. Just a flit of a memory of her own death.
It weighed on her so much she couldn't imagine actually remembering something like that with the clarity he seemed to.
She debated reaching out to touch his arm, try to find something along the lines of condolences, but after a bit she realized she couldn't keep pace with him and ended up flopping down on the stairs with a huge huff.
"Holy balls, man... I am sorry but after that walk there is too much uphillness on this trip, I need... a second...."
She leaned back and looked up at the limits of the structure they were in. "It's really difficult sometimes, not lashing out when people say ignorant things. I know it's not always their fault that they don't know about the history, or the sacrifices, or the depths and complexities of magic and what they miss out on, but sometimes they make me so angry. On all sides. The more and more I try to play their little alliance game the more I find I'm just being hollow and wearing a happy mask because secretly I can't stand to side with anyone's causes because their rhetoric makes me just... angry... There's so much magic and history lost to time and they not only don't seem to care, they seem willful about it."
