She watched him climb, trailing a few steps behind him, and craning her neck at his side to listen with a small, "Ah..."

Sometimes there were small flashes, in the darkest places of her parallel soul's mind, something from another story, and another timeline. In the worst nightmares of her life, she could see it, and almost feel it. Just a flit of a memory of her own death.

It weighed on her so much she couldn't imagine actually remembering something like that with the clarity he seemed to.

She debated reaching out to touch his arm, try to find something along the lines of condolences, but after a bit she realized she couldn't keep pace with him and ended up flopping down on the stairs with a huge huff.

"Holy balls, man... I am sorry but after that walk there is too much uphillness on this trip, I need... a second...."

She leaned back and looked up at the limits of the structure they were in. "It's really difficult sometimes, not lashing out when people say ignorant things. I know it's not always their fault that they don't know about the history, or the sacrifices, or the depths and complexities of magic and what they miss out on, but sometimes they make me so angry. On all sides. The more and more I try to play their little alliance game the more I find I'm just being hollow and wearing a happy mask because secretly I can't stand to side with anyone's causes because their rhetoric makes me just... angry... There's so much magic and history lost to time and they not only don't seem to care, they seem willful about it."

Her needing a wind was met with a smile. He'd needed too when he'd started out. "I like to think that back them we were just testing ourselves... but I'm pretty convinced Castorians had a masochist streak a mile wide. Hunting the beetles, the armor, the uh... ceremonies and how they solved things? Pretty.. brutal." He still waited, and once she was ready, he walked on, leading her two two massive doors. Half open, it was very clearly a bedroom, and the discoloration on wall gave the distinct impression he'd removed a portrait. It was easy enough to confirm as not far off a large canvas was covered and hidden from the light. He walked in saying that the balcony was through the room, his gaze pointedly avoiding the removed portrait.

"I want them to understand, to see.. I wish they could just know, see with their own eyes what they're doing, condemning Earth to with their actions. But it's like trying to get the blind to understand color. They have no idea, no way to really gasp it and if they can... even then it's still not the same. They assume that my cause for war is simply a 'simple' solution or one that is base- but it's nothing so easy. I want to save Earth. Truly, I want to save them and their people. So I have to pretend. I have to play the insane royal. I must give them their evil, to draw the realities to their vision. You want to protect you and your's- to go home, to the place you belong."

Finally, at the balcony, the immense view finally was there. In the horizon, massive mountains covered in ice and snow, the deep valley green, yet strange old black structures sticking up here and there. Weapons from an era long gone. From the balcony one could see how it had happened. The collapse of gates, the fallen buildings, the way some had been rent asunder in ways that spoke of beasts, monsters. Others by force, each fallen stone telling the final hours of what had once been a place that had thrived.

The view told the story of an empire's final hours before it had fallen.

Yet still, the landscape had adapted in ways, plants climbing into ruble, taking back what had once been the world's own. The ocean not far off out of view could be smelled faintly along with the gentle howl of northern winds. Below in the courtyard, the edges of a grove of trees bearing the name of a knight who no longer was 'alive'. Ruins they might be, yet it was like his world had simple reached out, accepting what was broken, waiting to be remade. "THIS is where I belong. Yet I can't stay and it kills me inside. I envy you, a place to go home to. I envy, though I shouldn't." He sighed. "I will help you find your way home- while I may not be able to stay on mine, you should not be denied your home."

It was hard to seem profound or even ponderous when one was huffing and puffing and resisting the urge to lay flat on a stone and pray for death to escape the resulting burning in the lungs from all of this effort and activity.

Too much time on the sofa with Netflix, her secret paramour.

Eventually she stumbled after him. slow moving not just because she was winded but because his avoidance drew her gaze to what was being avoided. Her steps made her rotate in a near circle before she approached the balcony after him, curiously angling her head to see his face around the side of him.

"I'm not sure if I can agree with your means as much as I'd like to see your ends come to fruition," She finally said with a heaving sigh and leaned against the balcony. "You don't-- or you shouldn't-- need to give evil to anyone, Castor. There's enough of it in this universe to go around."

She seemed to melt against the structure propping her up.

"I don't know. It doesn't seem fair to anyone," She mumbled. "I heard about... about some things. Kairatos came home pretty shaken up."

She was stilted, obviously thinking about each word. "It has to take a toll on you. But it's not my place to agree or disagree with your methods, I guess. I do worry, though, and I'm grateful for your help so far and all the help you've promised. You have a lot of potential, and I would hate to see you lost to circumstance, so I worry. But that's the role of a guardian cat most days anyway."

she tapped the heel of her sneaker against the stone and kept her eyes locked on the view.

"Thank you for everything, Castor. And I mean that."
