"Are you sure?" Drakon asked his sister, looking at her in worry even as she stood up and shook herself off, giving her a critical once over Drakon eyed her carefully - she did seem to be okay, she even laughed a little bit and Drakon gave her a warm look. sure his sister could be a pain now and then but he'd never actually want something to happen to her!
"Okay, and your right, you did clear the log so I guess you win." He admit with a slight sigh before glancing down the trail, he didn't think there would be much farther to go but maybe they would go a little bit slower until he was completely sure that his sister really was okay.

"I'm sure." She said in an annoyed tone. Did it look like she was hurt? No. Brothers could be so troublesome at times. She felt fine, but she would certainly think twice about running and jumping over another log anytime soon. But what mattered to her was that she had won their little bet, and that since she wasn't hurt that they could continue on and find those deer. It would have been terrible to have gotten hurt and had to limp home and explain to their parents what had happened. They'd be in big trouble if that happened. So from now on they would just need to go slow.
Cecaelia beamed at her brother. "Of course I won." She told him proudly. They didn't have any rules about doing it cleanly, just that she had to make it over the log. Which is exactly what she had done. "Now can we go find the baby deer?" She asked in a whiny tone. They were so close now, at least she thought they were close, that the idea of not go any further was worse than anything she could think of.

"Yes we can go." Drakon agreed with a slight rolling of his eyes at his sisters whiny voice, he was sure that he hadn't heard the last of her winning the bet either..but thankfully she was too preoccupied with looking for the deer at the moment to really sit around a gloat to much.
"I don't think it's much farther..." He stated, glancing through the forest, he didn't see ny signs of deer yet but that didn't mean anything, deer were sneaky according to what he had heard and they could be hiding just about anywhere. "Maybe we should go quietly like we did in the beginning so that we don't frighten them off." He suggested before he started down the pathway again, going slow and stealthy like as he peered through the woods. They had to be here somewhere! they just had to!

She really hoped it wasn't much further, she was so eager to see all those deer, especially the babies. "Right." She said quietly before following Drakon down the path. Every few steps she would pause for a moment and look around before catching up with her brother. She didn't want to miss anything. But she also didn't want to scare the deer away. Apparently deer were fairly flighty creatures and even something small like a twig snapping could send them running.
They had traveled a way down the path before she stopped. Eyes staring off into the distance. Had she seen something? She wasn't sure. So she continued to follow Drakon. Once she was in whispering distance of him she spoke. "I think there is a meadow ahead, the trees are starting to thin out. Maybe we will find them there." Boy she hoped they would. If they were gone too long their parents would get worried and maybe a bit angry with them for wandering off.

"I noticed that too." Drakon whispered back in regards to the thinning trees. Did deer like meadows? He was sure that they did, they ate grass and such like Soquili right? The meadows always had the best grass to eat. Slowing his pace even more Drakon crept towards the treeline, cautiously creeping forward.
"Did you see that?!?" He suddenly whispered to his sister "I swear I saw something move in the grass!" He went on, straining his eyes to see better and pacing a little bit closer, they were almost at the meadows edge now, just a few more bushes to push through and they should have a clear view of whatever was moving about in the meadow ahead. He really hoped it was the deer, he knew his sister wanted to see them and he didn't want to have dragged her this far and trip over a log for no reason!
