I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Madeline
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: ]

Maddie wasn't exactly endowed with culinary talent (kinda hard when one had paws), but she had seen the signups. A competition meant lots of creeple, and lots of creeple mean ANARCHY. AND CHAOS. AND DESTRUCTION. And also prizes. She liked prizes, and winning, because she was awesome, and totally deserved to win. She also liked to see how desperate some of the other students were at winning, because really, winning was only half the fun. Watching them struggle and despair when they were eliminated. THAT was the real fun.

That aside, it seemed her first "task" was to acquire ingredients, because how could one eat without food? Fortunately, it seemed they were already provided an abundance of food, which definitely made things a bit easier (even if hunting was half the fun), and she inspected her choices, squinting at the fine specimens, until she finally settled on a batling, grinning as it shrieked when she plucked it up.
With the wriggling mini underneath one arm, she picked out some garnishes as well, which included veggies tearjerker, tart otokoyo spice, tart otokoyo tomato, tart treat egg, and rock candy peppermint.

With everything selected, the next thing to do was put the poor thing out of its misery. With a swift slash, the creature was silenced, and she set about tearing off the wings and tails, inspecting them for a bit before putting them aside. Next was the skin and fur, and while most of it stuck to her sleeves making her pause several times to mutter irritably and attempt to clean it off, she finally succeeded in getting a good portion of it off, minus a few flecks here and there. Then she set about preparing the other things, which really consisted of her sticking the skinned batling into a pan, rubbing the otokoyo spice tart spice all over it, and chopping up the tart otokoyo tomato and tart treat egg on top (how convenient it was having claws for hands), as well as sprinkling it with crumbly pieces of tearjerker and rock candy, for flavour. And then the whole thing went in the oven. For an indescribable amount of minutes, because the hotter the better. And while waiting, she decided to fry the batling wings and tail because why not.

Once everything was thoroughly cooked, she pulled the pan out of the oven, and stuck the fried batling wings and tail back on. And then... presented it to the judges, just like that. Still in the pan. Also she didn't bother separating it for either of the judges because she wanted to see them fight over it.
"I made deviled batling. It's super spicy and hot. And AWESOME. And totally deserves to win."
Nailed it.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Falair Saab
[ RP TRYOUT HERE:

Cooking was exactly like alchemy. You added your ingredients, let it cook for a bit and hoped the result was something good. And not explodey. So a cooking competition was something Falair would probably be able to ace. I mean, it was such basic alchemy if there was any comparison. Then again, sometimes even basic was pretty time consuming and...not all that rewarding.

Either way she decided to try this thing out. Not that she had much to do anyhow.

She stared at the hoard and ingredients. Inspecting each visually until she finally made her decision. The Horsewoman made quick work of killing, skinning, chopping to prepare a dish that would impress the judges. Anyone who was standing near the station would hear the squeals of minis as she worked one by one.

Working the Tart Eon Blueberry out of it's little tart crust and placing it into a blender to puree. Slicing the Dragonfruit one into little slices. Grating the Coconut one before she began to lightly cook the Shiki Tropical in a pan with sugar.

Pouring the blueberry into the tart crust, once the Shiki was ready she placed it in the tart shell as well on top of the blueberry. Gathering the dragonfruit slices she carefully placed them around the Shiki then sprinkled the coconut lightly over the dish. This seemed easy enough. Cleaning up the plate she stood back to give it a nod of approval before moving to take her plate up to be judged.

Falair wasn't the least bit nervous as she came up to the judges with her dish. If anything she was smiling quite proud of herself behind her mask. "I call it Tropic Dream. Its a Shiki Tropical lightly cooked with sugar set atop of puree of Blueberry Tart Eon, surrounded by sliced Tart Treat Dragonfruit and sprinkled with Tart Treat Coconut. Enjoy."

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Camilla Forester
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: Step 1: When the Dormouse girl heard there was due to be a cooking competition she just had to enter! And so there she was there bright and early ready to cook! ...However which she saw the ingredients she paled alittle... Ok it was a lot... Camilla didn't like cooking with minipets if she could help it but sense it was the only thing to use she swallows a bit and tries to ignore the fact the she was about to cook pets...

When it was time to pick ingredients she looks over the selection while she liked meat she primarily favored desserts and such however she wasn't cooking for her she was cooking for others and avian dishes were pretty universally popular so she moved over to the section with flying minis mercifully there were already prepared birds she really had no idea how any of these bird minis tasted or how to cook them so she went for the one that looked the most like chicken a large Corrividus which she knew was a crow based mini but hoped tasted like chicken

Next was garnishes also mercifully they didn't look like the minis they actually were and she decided she'd go for a totatoy chickeny thing no other ingredients actually appealed to her and she hoped skimping on the ingredients wouldn't hurt her chances at winning...

Step 2: Now was the hard part... what to make exactly... finally she decided to make a sort of Chicken with herb roasted tomato and pan sauce though it was Corrividus instead of chicken... first while she preheated her oven she worked on her tomatos in a large bowl she coated them with olive oil and some herbs de province (she had no idea where Province was but like the herb mixture) plus salt and pepper what she hoped was to taste... then she added oil to a skillet and heated it till the oil shimmered before adding the tomato mixture and after cooking it a bit transferred the skillet to the oven

While her tomatos were roasting she coated the Corrividus breasts she'd picked up in salt and pepper then heated up some olive oil in another skillet and seared the Corrividus on both sides until it was golden brown then transferred the skillet to the oven before waiting awhile first the tomatos came out and she transferred them to a bowl then drizzled with Worcestershire sauce while the Corrividus cooked and when it finished she moves the chicken to a cutting board to cool

While the meat was cooling she worked on the sauce adding more oil plus a finely chopped shallot to the same skillet the Corri was in stirring it frequently before adding vinegar and using her spoon to get all the nice fond of while she deglazed the pan finally she adds the roasted tomatos and their juices to the skillet and simmers it just until it thickens while adding a bit more salt and pepper

Step 3: With the base done it was time to plate... now was crunch time she sliced up the corrividus breast and tried to stack the pieces up as artfully as possible in a pile in the middle then poured some of the sauce over the pile so it was a nice small pool in the middle of the plate then drizzled some of the sauce around the edges and garnished with some herbs before sighing and putting her dishes on the trolley

Camilla might have looked a smidge flustered when she approached the judges... she wasn't used to being judged this way however she tried to put her most professional face on and stay calm "Hi!" she says as cheerfully as she could manage "Here are my dishes!" she says for presenting them "Normally I would do this dish with chicken but I had to improvise so I used Corrividus instead! hah hah" she laughs a bit nervously "I first seared the Corrividus breasts so I could get a nice skin on them then finished them off in the oven with the sauce I oven roasted the tomatos using a classic blend of herbs then deglazed the same skillet I used to cook the chicken in with vinegar and added the tomatos along with some Worcestershire sauce" she says finishing then bows a smidge 'Please enjoy!" she says cheerfully then watches their reaction nervously

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Kari
[ RP TRYOUT HERE:

So many contestants... could Kari really compete? She'd had plenty of experience cooking with her mom before, who always said it tasted wonderful, but she'd never been officially judged on her cooking before. Was she really up to snuff? Of course she was, she couldn't let herself get down before she even started! A ghoul had to at least try, after all. Shaking off her nerves, she trotted over to a table with a box and a sign stating to pick her food category. After a few seconds of riffling around in the box, she pulled out her paper. "Dessert, I can do this!", Kari exclaimed happily. She loved sweet things, after all.

A quick browse lead her to the ingredients table. She already knew what she wanted to make, but it was a matter of finding the right ingredients. Her eyes lit up as she spied her main ingredient in the back: the Pygmy Eon Apple. Snatching that up, she quickly scanned the rest of her ingredients. "Let's see...", she muttered to herself, "... Mollu Jellied Brains for the glaze. Tart Treat Egg and a Kitra Air for a light, fluffy crust. And an Tart Otokoyo Spice to enhance the Pygmy Eon Apple's flavor. Perfect."

Bringing her ingredients to an empty area of counter, she needed to prepare the crust first, so it could set. Kari mixed the Tart Treat Egg and Kitra Air into an even semi-solid consistency before flattening the dough into a pie pan. Placing the dough pan in a fridge to set, she began cutting up the Pygmy Eon Apple into bite-size pieces and grating the Tart Otokoyo Spice before adding both together. She grinned at the spiced apple smell that wafted from the bowl as she stirred. Once everything was evenly mixed, she pulled the now-solid dough pan from the fridge and poured her spiced apple mixture into the pan. With the pie mixture securely in the oven and the timer set, Kari began chopping up and heating the Mollu Jellied Brains into a gooey liquid consistency. At the ping, the ghoul carefully pulled out the pie and placed it on a rack to cool. Within a few minutes, she lightly drizzled her Mollu Jellied Brains glaze onto her lightly steaming pie. Staring at her creation, she couldn't help but beam. "Just like mom would make it!", she chimed while doing a small twirl. Now to go serve it, she though as she loaded the pie, plates, forks, and extra glaze onto a cart.

Rolling her dessert up to the judges, Kari took a deep breath as she began her presentation and serving. "My name is Kari Enzarin, and I made a Jellied Pygmy Eon Apple Pie for you today", she stated with a slightly quavering voice as she cut two generous pieces of her pie and placed them onto their respective plates. Breathe, she mentally admonished herself. They weren't planning to eat her... hopefully. While the dessert itself wasn't very fancy, it wasn't something that just anyone could make well. Spooning some extra Mollu Jellied Brains glaze in little swirls around the plate edges in hopes of adding to its presentation, she continued, "The main ingredient is Pygmy Eon Apple, with Mollu Jellied Brains for the glaze, Tart Treat Eggs and Kitra Air for the crust, and Tart Otokoyo Spice for extra flavor. It's a personal favorite of mine, and I hope you like it too, please enjoy.", she finished as she placed the two completed plates and forks in front of the judges and stepped back to await their decision, clasping her hands together nervously while praying it appealed to their tastes.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Rhiannon
[ RP TRYOUT HERE:

One would think that Ri would be here because she wanted to be competitive and to feel the thrill of a challenge, or maybe because she secretly held a talent for cooking. But the answer was plain and simple: she had a crush on a certain short-fused chef. The witch loved to watch competitions on the interwebs from the comfort of her dorm room, and it wasn't entirely her fault that he just so happened to be the subject of many cooking ones. So naturally, Ri jumped at the chance to meet him and his exotic accent in person. She just hoped she wouldn't poison him in the process.

From the table, she snatched a cage that held one Autumn Scale Sprite (that snapped at her fingers as she did so), a Mollu Fall Shroom, a Kitra Water, a Veggies Mashers, a Tart Eon Candycorn (for sweetness) and a Tart Otokoyo Tomato. The rest of the minis didn't put up as much of a fight as the Scale Sprite, but it did take a lot of convincing and one very heavy metal bowl to keep them at her station.

First, she grabbed the Scale Sprite while it was busy trying to chomp at the hand that held its cage, squeezing her eyes shut as she cut down. The witch then took off every one of its scales and tried her best to cut a nice portion of meat from the bones as carefully as she could. Ri placed this on her heated pan and pulled out the Tart Eon from under the bowl, throwing it in the pan to give it a sweet flavor. She prepared and cut the Mollu, Mashers, and Otokoyo into equal square chunks with her knife as her Sprite cooked, earning new bites on her hands and a short visit from the medic.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...," the ghoul winced as she shoved the Kitra Water in the pan to deglaze it, quickly slamming the lid on top. She then took out the Sprite and stirred the chopped Mollu Fall Shroom and chunks of Mashers and Otokoyo into the mixture, then added salt and various dried herbs that the witch saw creeple use all the time in their meat dishes. Once she was satisfied with her work (because Chef Ramsay deserved absolute perfection), she went to see the judges.

Ri took it to the table, trying not to look like a starstruck fangirl and putting on her best stoic expression. She then tossed some of the flowers from the rest of the Tart Otokoyo Tomato into her veggies, shaking a bit as she plated it carefully, adding the Scale Sprite on top and placing it before them.

"Chefs, today I have prepared for you a filet of seared Autumn Scale Sprite, sweetened with Tart Eon Candycorn. It rests on top of a bed of Veggies Mashers and Tart Otokoyo Tomato, and is tossed with Mollu Fall Shroom to bring out it its earthy Harvest October flavor. Enjoy." Her voice wavered a little during her speech, but she bowed her head and stood before them. All in all, she did manage to prepare a decent-looking dish without falling, burning, or dropping anything, which Ri took as a success.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Reese Cage
[ RP TRYOUT HERE:

Gazing impassively down at the lumpy and unattractive creatures she'd been presented with, Reese first cut into one to taste it and familiarize herself with it. Then she made a grim face before gathering her other ingredients. She would have preferred something more along the lines of spookies or pie, but her pride was on the line as president of the Crafty Creeple Club. The ghost was here to represent and represent she would.

Solemnly and with great care, Reese inspected her chosen ingredients, feeling that her plan was solid. She was also very slow and used up entirely too much time during this process.

Placing a Tearjerker with several Mashers into a strainer, she then placed it over a bowl to collected the Masher Tears. Satisfied with the rate they were filling the bow, the ghost began to clean, chop, mash, and blend the rest of the ingredients. Her movements were extremely skillful. Even if her expression showed no passion for cooking in the least, Reese had very steady hands.

Noticing a camera directed at her, the ghost stared blankly at it and then held up a premade sign: I enjoy this Viking Range. It is well crafted and of good quality.

Noticing the bowl of Tears was nearly full, Reese rushed to pour the tears into the fryer and begin heating them up. She had a sinking feeling she'd spent too much time on prepping to her meticulous standards, and now was cutting things close. That didn't, however, keep her from a show of fancy knifework as she cut the mashers into bat, ghost, pumpkin, and cat shapes.

Wheeling her trolley solemnly before the judges, Reese began to work on finishing up the dish while also holding up a number of signs.

Hello, my name is Reese Cage.

She placed the fryer on the work station and then carefully dropped the sliced Masher pieces in, along with some small Tearjerkers. Then she began mixing what looked to be two sauces, on red, the other white.

I like sweet things.

It appeared that one of the minipets was not quite dead, though its tiny cried were swiftly and literally cutoff as Reese calmly brought down her knife.

I dislike minipets.

Fishing the veggies out of the fryer, Reese began to plate.

I am serving you Mashers with Tearjerker blossoms, fried in tears. They are accompanied by a spiced Strawberry Tart Treat sauce, and a cooling Coconut Tart Treat sauce.

It was, in all honesty, slightly elevated bar food, with some fairly questionable combinations. But it was, at least, beautifully plated, with the fancy-cut tear-fried critters frolicking across a field of blossoms and strawberry-coconut gore.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Tsukumogami Rei

Ingredients and Garnishes!

Main Ingredient: Dessert-kind, JellyBlob Mizu Mochi
Garnish: Kitra Water, Kitra Air, Mollu Boobery, Mollu Taffy, Tart Treat Coconut

Something is not right here.
Rei was sleeping in his favorite junkyard just yesterday...

And here he was, standing in the middle of a giant Iron Chef set.

How.

The first thought was he somehow 'slipped' into ANOTHER so-called Fearverse, just like what he usually did. But no, this doesn't FEEL like a Fear-in-universe. Yet somehow he got the urge to COOK SOMETHING.

Must be the atmosphere, yeah. He noticed his headphones' plug is hanging around, 'listening' to the surrounding air. He looked to his chest and found a small contestant nameplate.

His name is called by a rough-looking MC. He brought a small piece of paper from the box...it reads "DESSERT INGREDIENT".

Is this a good pick? He walked to the area pointed by the...
"WAT THE HECK!?" he yelled.

In place of the ingredients, there are numerous MINIPETS from many kind of species in small cages.

"These are the ingredients. You may only pick from that shelf, and after that may choose up to 5 garnish from the next table". The MC directed him to another table filled with another set of Minis.

His blood...or exactly, ectoplasm flow seemed to stop at that very moment---

"HECK YEAH!" He yelled loudly, surprising quite a number of other contestant.

Since he ate that Floresce dishes on the Carnival, he wondered if they're the only Minis that Halloweeners consume-it turned out to be not the only one.

And now he got a chance to actually cook one.
If he wanted to do something, then might as well do his best.

He looked around and picked a well-used knife from the set. This may be kinda cheating but he don't actually know how to dismember...errr, prepare Minipets. So he did what he does best---
Jacking in.

Immediately, Rei's aura changed. In a heartbeat he opened a cage and took out a plump-looking, clear-colored Mizu Mochi Jellyblob as base. If his human memory serves, this is the penultimate dessert...but what about here?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

But this isn't enough. He need other ingredients to make 'that'.
Rei eyed some other minis in the garnish table-and quickly decided on Kitra Air, Kitra Water, Mollu Boobery, Mollu Taffy and finally a Tart Treat Coconut.

This is it. These are all things he needed to make that.

And now for the actual cooking.
Putting complete faith in the 'memory' inside the knife, he prepared a grater, blender, and mold in shape of small balls.

All preparations are completed-and now for the actual cooking.

Firstly, he took the Air Kitra and delivers a coup-de-grace by cutting its head clean off. He then proceeds to freeze-dry the body by dipping it quickly into liquid hydrogen tank, shattering the outer coat of rime to unveil the very light and pale meat. Cutting it into even pieces, he quickly stores it into the deep-freezer and moved to Water Kitra; he simply skinned the slippery blue skin just like preparing an eel. After that, he put the sliced meat into a bowl filled with sugar water to cure it.

Next, he moved on the Coconut Tart Treat. The minis' plea to be released was met with sharp grater blades-of which he extracted coconut milk(?). For the Mollus, they became jam after being boiled and thrown into blender-

For the final preparation-and the hardest, is the Jellyblob.

"Now just stand still, this will be over in a flash---" Rei said menacingly while dumping the blob of jelly into the same liquid hydrogen tank. After waiting few minutes, he pulled the completely frozen Mini, still alive thanks to the power of Fear comprising it---

-And stabbed it with the knife several times around its body. Making a very thin triangle-shaped holes, he scooped out the already-frozen Air Kitra meat and chilled Water Kitra meat, arranging it inside the wound like an alternating set of stairs.

That's right.

The dish he was making is "Fruit Filled Clear Agar."

But unlike human world's version, what he made is something else---

BEEEEP.
The giant timer on the set began to emit shrilling sound. It took him longer than expected, putting all the slices into the still-frozen Jellyblob...and he still need to resuscitate it before pouring the sauce.

Time's a ticking, now he has finished cooking. What he needs to do now is...

Jacking into a preparation plate.

Obtaining the memory of 'how to decorate a dish', he pulled out the Water Kitra skin and made a blue rose decoration with it. Not waiting for the Jellyblob to completely defrost, he sliced it into several pieces and placed them on the plates. Making a cute (???) circle with the Mollu jam as paint, he decorated the rim of the plate before pouring a small amount of Treat Coconut milk.

He has calculated the time needed for the Jellyblob to actually defrost after being bathed with the jam and milk...exactly 5 minutes.

Pushing the trollies to the judges, he made a bow and lifted the cover---

"Lo and behold, Ikizukuri style, FrankenJelly." He said the name of the dish to the (surprisingly) not-so-surprised judges. He mustn't lost his cool here, though.

"The dish is made from MizuMochi Jellyblob, known for the refreshing feeling of emptiness and fulfillment after eating it. The Water Kitra meat provides a succulent yet light texture, and with each bite it will alter between liquid and solid state, further spreading the taste. The Air Kitra meat is very tender-it literally breaks into air when you chew it-further complementing the MizuMochi." He explained to the judges when the quivering pieces of not-so-dead Jellyblob are being eaten in small slices. "The Kitra meat also prevents the Jellyblob from turning into liquid. The wound when it was cut is being forcefully healed with Mollu jam, a mini with outstanding vitality and taste. The sweet from Taffy is complimented with tangy aftertaste from the Boobery, and finally it is mixed with the fresh Coconut milk." He finished his explanation, giving a slight bow.

That was quite good for an impromptu dish.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Kenta
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: ] Kenta had been learning too cook recently; mostly because he had a slightly different diet than others and because his dorm had that mini kitchen in it… Why waste the space? And now… somehow.. he’d signed up for the Hade’s Kitchen….. I’m an idiot, he thought, but hey it’ll be fun! And maybe they’d appreciate a food that the undead could eat? He knew what he wanted to eat; so that is what he’d make! He’d just have to make an extra serving jut for himself! Where else would he get access to the best ingredients than from here?! He sauntered over to the side table to examine the food. Now what did he want to eat? The fish looked good... but he could always get one of those. Kenta’s single eye light up when he spotted the Spice Rabbit Wyrm; something tasty that he had bought once and had tasted really good raw! He pulled out a large one and grinned before adding some Mullo Fall Shrooms , Veggie masher and tearjerkers (much as he hated vegetables he knew of ways to make it so he did like it), a Tart Treat Brains to fill out the Rabbit Wyrm’s flavor and cool it’s spicy flavor and last of all was an Unchecked Egg.

Heading back, Kenta plotted what he was going to do: the Rabbit Wyrm would be the main meat of the dish, but he needed to add some brains and the juice from the Mullo Fall Shroom inside to make it a bit more edible to the more squimish. The Veggie Tearjerker he cut up first and fried, the sizzle putting out a tasty scent right as he pulled the tart treat brains out and skinned it. The meat joined the Veggie Tearjerker sautéing and sizzling as he put the Mullo Shrooms into a pan to boil, cracking and stirring the Unchecked Egg into it to add flavor. As he waited for the Tart Treat to sauté with the Tearjerker and the Egged Shrooms to finish boiling down to a tasty sauce, he cleaned the Veggie Masher and Rabbit Wyrm before taking the Masher. Once the scent of the Tart Tart smelled just right, he pulled it off the heat and started a third pot: this time filled with sliced Masher. He took the Rabbit Wyrm and cut a slice own the back and began to fill it with the sautéed Tearjerker and Tart treat. Arranging the now stuffed Rabbit Wyrm on a large platter, he pulled his sauce of Eggy Shrooms off the heat and carefully poured some over the opening along the Rabbit Wyrms back. Then he started his final stage; mashing the Masher! These he arranged along the sides of the Rabbit Wyrm, puffy clouds surrounding the steaming beast. Then he poured the sauce along the inside, making a moat about the Rabbit Wyrm.
It was complete! And smelled tasty; those judges better leave me some!

He put the dish on the trolly and rolled it towards the judges; it needed no final touches; the sauce has just cooled down enough to be edible and reheating would just cook his Rabbit Wyrm which he did not want.
He was rather proud of it; the Rabbit Wyrm’s long coiled body had been stuffed so that it was rigid and able to stand up without supports. It looked; he was amused to see, like the mini was taking a hot bath!
“Leave me a share; I made this for me to eat.” He said with a toothy grin to the judges.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Uru'baen
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: ]
Uru was always finding ways to challenge himself, finding ways to keep himself occupied, but also to put himself out there into the social settings of the campus as to fulfill certain expectations of a sibling. And a friend. This time, he was taking part of some sort of cooking competition. Generally, he knew himself as a rather mediocre cook whom opted to stirfry his food for simplicity sake, but he was able to cook. It was a secret hobby of his, albeit of a guilty side hobby. If he was able to impress, that was that, if not, no skin off his back. Donning on a white apron, the demon made his way to the table of ingredients, giving them a once over before deciding to take back a Pimpom - Pumpkin Spice and a few other ingredients that he may find useful to the idea that was going on in his head. He was sure that other students were trying to make entrees, but he was going to rely on his specialties here.

Filling a pot to a moderate level, the demon tossed the skinned Pimpom into the boiling water, adding a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Whipping the Tart Treat Egg into a batter, he put aside the paper cup aside as he worked the battler into a mixer adding some of the Kitra Water to loosen it up, bringing the mixture to a nice creamy texture. Half of the batter was put into ramikens before putting them into a pre-heated oven. Which gave him time to work on some other things. Skinning the Tart Otokoyo Spice, he worked the grounded fur into some mixtures of all spice before setting it aside. Going back to the batter that he had worked with, he added heavy cream and worked it to a consistency of frosting. With the oven going off, he pulled the ramikens from the oven racks and worked them into the Tart mini's cups as decorating. Using the Pimpom's flames, he glazed over the top of the cake like concoction before drizzling them with the Kitra-Tart Egg frosting and powdered it with ground-spiced Otokoyo fur. Some nuts were used just for appearance, some were made without just in case of allergies. The more he looks at it, the more he feels that it is more for show than taste... he didn't exactly try anything as he worked through it. At home, he'd stick his finger into just about anything just to taste it... but he wasbeing watched and judged here and that didn't seem exactly sanitary.

Walking before the judges, Uru stood with arms across his chest. Perhaps they could take this as him being defensive or nervous or even rude, but this was his natural pose. Get over it. With a dramatic exhale, he looked to his plate. "Today, I prepared a Pumpkin-Pimpom-Tart Cake, drizzled with Kitra and Tart Egg frosting, and powered with ground Otokoyo Spice fur. I topped some with wallow nuts and some without in case of allergies. Enjoy." He spoke, his voice hinted at some pride in his work, but otherwise, his social skills lacked. Oh well!

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Ivar
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: ]

Ivar had been told that the young lady would be at Amityville finishing up her last few days of school. It would, he supposed, be a nice gesture to pay her a visit and introduce himself. Though really, it did bother him that she had made no efforts to contact him beforehand, given the … arrangements upon her graduation.

It was with a twang of regret and envy that he arrived at Amityville, wondering what it would have been like to have been a student here. The most esteemed of his peers were of course, alumni of the prestigious institution. Letting out a disgruntled huff, Ivar continued his way through the school grounds with much purpose.

After a failed visit to the school office where he had been told to shove off by a very rude gnome, he was beginning to wonder where he might even begin to find her. The dorms, as he had been told, didn't appreciate outside guests.

This had been a terrible idea.

Just as he prepared to take his leave, the sounds of a commotion caught the dark elf's attention, drawing him to the crowd that had gathered for a certain event – Hades Kitchen. Was she a good cook? he wondered. It would be quite a spectacle to see her compete...

GET IN THERE

Ivar would soon be very distraught to find that moments later, he had somehow found himself in a plain apron and standing in front of the cooking area. This was not what he had signed up for. Unfortunately, there were too many cameras around to ignore. He didn't want to look like an idiot. Especially if this was going to end up on public broadcast.

Step 1: Assembling ingredients

Ivar leaned on the counter and stole a few glances at the other competitors, noting that she wasn't amongst them. A judge perhaps? Rolling up his sleeves and pulling his hair back into a ponytail, Ivar began looking around his workspace for an idea of what to cook. There was a sad lack of wine available. The dark elf pondered what, in his mind, a young elegant lady might like. His dinner gathering experiences informed him that they always seemed to be excited about dessert.

Gathering a few vanilla pods and flowers off the antlers of the sleeping primadonner vanilla, a cephire jelly gelatin, along with a bowl of tart eon blueberries, the dark elf picked up his main ingredient – a creampuff toothpaste – to begin on his dish: a classic panna cotta blueberry compote.

Step 2: Preparing a dish

It must have been quite a sight to see the creampuff toothpaste unceremoniously thrown into the blender, but the dark elf was far too busy with the other preparations to let minipet sympathy get to him. The vanilla pods were sliced open and scraped, both seeds and pods were then added to a pan of minty cream and sugar and left to simmer. The cephire jelly was left to swim in a bowl of cold water as Ivar waited for the cream to cook, before meeting its eventual end by being squeezed out into the pan.

As he stirred the cream to an even consistency, Ivar wondered how he had landed himself in so much trouble that day. Still, the thought that she might be tasting his dessert was in the back of his mind. The dark elf wasn't too sure how he felt about that.

With the cream poured into the moulds and left to sit in the refrigerator, Ivar began to prepare the the blueberry compote, throwing the blueberries, bay leaves and sugar into a pan until it cooked into a clear red sauce. He was almost done. Now all he had to do was walk through the door...

Step 3: Presenting the dish

As he faced the two judges, Ivar was starting to feel a little embarrassed for the anticipation he had built up for himself. Surely, the two judges were both very well-esteemed, especially the infamous Gordon Ramsay, and he wondered why he had expected anyone else to be the taste testers.

Good afternoon gentlemen, I am Ivar Elof and today I have for you, a panna cotta blueberry compote with a minty twist,” he greeted the judges as he plated his dish. The moulds were dipped in hot water, releasing the panna cotta onto the plate. The blueberry compote was then carefully poured onto the white dessert, saving some for a decorative flourish on the plate itself. “I hope you will enjoy it,” he said, presenting the dish and taking a step back for a bow.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Sucre Von Toverij
[ RP TRYOUT HERE:

Sucre had come prepared, pretty much covered head-to-toe. Long gloves and a beanie held in extra goo that might want to drip down into her cooking. She had even brought her own sickeningly sweet apron, covered in sugared bats and gummy eyeballs. Sucre was a bit in over head but general cooking couldn't be that much different than baking, which was a much practiced past-time of hers. With her usual no-fussing attitude Sucre just picked a main ingredient at random and dropped off the Fishimp at her station. She skipped back over and grabbed a couple extra ingredients.

Sweet was a must, so she settled on a sweet and spicy feel. Sucre quickly dismantled the Fishimp, chopping off it's head and then moving onto it's limbs. She prepped the fish, removing the scales, bones and insides before slicing it in half. If not for her gloves some of the nasties would probably have ended up floating in her goo. Sucre hummed as she worked, intent on winning. Sucre liked winning. Prizes were great. Fame was great. Next she washed, peeled and shredded the Veggie Mashers in record time. Shredding things was rather fun. Finally, with a practiced precision she separated some egg whites and dipped the impfish fillets in it and coated them with the masher shreds. Sucre placed them onto the skillet until they were golden on both sides and let them finish cooking inside the oven. She combined the remaining ingredients into a sweet and spicy sauce. This she tasted, several times, mostly because she liked the sugar.

Maybe she didn't quite get the seriousness of the competition but Sucre's presentation was lacking and sported her usual messy habits. The fillets didn't look that appetizing, a pretty golden color but bits of masher were scattered about the plate when she placed the fillets down. She spooned the sauce onto the plates just as sporadically. The ghoul was beaming, pleased with her work nonetheless.

"Hi I'm Sucre and I choose the silly Fishimps so I present to you Sweet Fired Masher crusted Fishimp! Fishimp filets crusted in crunchy shredded masher with a sweet and spicy Tart Treat Dragonfruit Eon Strawberry sauce. I hope you like it!" Sucre's whole presentation was terrible, but she was enthusiastic and smiling and had only managed not to drop or burn anything because of her skills in baking. She totally had this in the bag.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Hel
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: ]

A competition? Oh yeah, she was in. A competition about cooking? Oh yeah, she was definitely in. Hel already knew she was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but she knew it wouldn’t hurt to show the rest of Halloween one of the many things she was good at. Granted, while Hel could cook well, she really could…only make one thing really well, and that was stew. A stew and anything related to stew. That being said, she was going to rock this competition with a stew. The reaper gathered the necessary items for a Pot-Au-Feu with confidence. A Halloween Wyvling Pot-Au-Feu, along with some veggies and some spice. The reaper grinned as she rolled up her sleeves.

She had this.

The reaper didn’t believe in finesse, so her handling of everything was done true to her nature. Rough. Her tool of choice was a large butcher knife, and the Wyvling was beheaded with a cheerful hum and a loud thud (also an echoing Zeena Reaper Warrior Princess cry). She then proceeded to skin it and then chop up its meat into chunky pieces. The veggies and spice were treated the same way, and all the ingredients were tossed into a large boiling pot. Hel oozed nothing but confidence as she prepared the dish, feeling more than at ease in the kitchen cooking.

The finished stew was dished out into a few small cast iron pots for appearances, and the reaper pushed the trolley out to present it to the judges. “I place before you now—“ She started in a haughty tone, but paused as she caught sight of one of the judges. “—Hey wait, you actually leave your office? I thought they were pulling legs by listing you as a judge—“ Then remembering she was getting side tracked by Hyde, she put herself back on track. “Bah! I place before you Halloween Wyvling Pot-Au-Feu! It is a hearty dish which imbues the spirit or flesh or what-have-you with strength and courage!”

It might take some courage to eat it based on appearances. It looked as abrasive and hostile as the creator.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Soren
[ RP TRYOUT HERE: The horseman looked a bit out of place at the competition, and for the most part he felt it too. But he was obviously here for a reason, and that reason was simple. To have access to the highest quality apple minipets. The mere idea of their Fear was tantalizing, but he knew that he simply couldn't arrive and devour all of the pets in the pantry. No, these would be quality ingredients, but the high end ones would be in the later rounds. For now he had to just stay in the running, and hope that he got something that let him cook with apples, as he really had no idea how to make anything else.

As the competition began he wasted little time in choosing his minipet one. Dessert meant lots of options, apple pies, apple tarts, apple strudel, or, conveniently enough, caramel apples. Seeing a prime specimen right in front of him he snatched up the scent, stuffing it under his arm as he looked for something to accent the sweet and tart contrast the minipet would bring. It was easy enough to add in a tart otokoyo spice to add some extra layer of flavors, a kitra water and fire for cooking purposes, and a tart treat coconut. It had an umbrella. He could use that.

The dish itself was not simple per say, but it fit well within his range of skills. He quickly chopped off it's head and skinned it, tossing it into a pot with the kitra water and setting it to boil. For the moment he set the rest of his scent aside, pulling the tart otokoyo spice toward him and easily dismantling it as well. Those skinned parts went into the pot, and he left the concoction to simmer, the pumpkin and apple flavors mellowing, bound together by the sweetness of the caramel and the typical fall spices of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Now he was free to return his attention to the scent. For caramel apples half the goodness was sinking your teeth into it, ripping off a bite and feeling it coating your teeth as you chewed. But he wasn't dealing with actual caramel or apples here, no it was meat, and there part that immediately stood out. Ribs. Ripping off the flesh wasn't as good of a feeling, but it would have to do. Years of hunting meant that the skinning part was easy, he simply got it started and then ripped most of it off. His butchering skills were basic, but he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty and in just a short time the ribs were alone on the center of his station. What they needed was heat slow cooking, and he didn't have time for that. Quickly he turned the stove on as high as it would go, holding them over the open flames with a pair of tongs to try to get a touch of a sear on them while the oven heated. A few minutes later he struggled and dropped the meat in a pan, shoving it in the oven.

With that cooking he could turn his attention back to the pot bubbling merrily away, a bit of the liquid already boiled out. He started fishing out the biggest hunks, then threw the rest though a strainer to get out the remaining bits. It was still thin, so he left it to simmer down, heading off to grab his dishes so he could begin plating.

It was easy to stand around, waiting until the last couple of minutes before plating in a frenzy. And naturally tasting the boiling liquid frequently. The now slightly thicker cider went steaming into the mugs, topped by the tart treat's umbrella for a bit of a fun. Or something like that. Whatever. Then the kitra fire was coiled on serving tray, a plate set on top of it, and the caramel apple ribs laid criss-crossed on top. Hopefully they'd get a few more minutes of cooking until he was actually judged.

The trolley was wheeled out and he stared at it for a minute. Five minutes for finishing touches? This was it. He was done and his work was finished. By Secretariat's hooves he wasn't going to waste five minutes of his life standing here.

Well, there was one thing he could do. He used a spoon to taste something and accidentally dripped something on his shirt. Obviously it had to be removed so as not to offend the judges. Abs bared he stepped forward, planting his feet and staring the judges in the eye. "I made this. It has apples. Enjoy." There seemed to be no actual option about them not enjoying it, it was a statement, and his final one actually to the judges. Presentation? He flexed his pecs. Check.

I AM TRYING OUT FOR HADES KITCHEN:

[ Name of character: ] Beats
[ RP TRYOUT HERE:

Beats wasn't exactly sure how he got there, he wasn't exactly sure about a lot of things, but he didn't feel that worried. There were so many other things to occupy his attention, mostly the other creeple waiting for something! He floated after them as they filed into a kitchen, only realizing too late that he was now expected to cook when he was presented an Inkling Dog. The shoe haunt stared at the ingredient, wary of the canine, despite the lack of distinct teeth, but steeled himself as some vague idea occurred to him. He returned with some scary eggs, veggies bad for your eyes, veggies tearjerker, kitra elemental earth, and mollu fall shroom.

When he grabbed the mini by the scruff of its neck, Beats made a face as his hand came away with a lot of ink. It didn't smell bad, not really, but he wiped his hand with visible distaste while preheating the available oven. Gingerly, he stuffed the inkling into a plastic bag, and brandished a large, solid mallet. His lips pursed and he began whistling a cheery tune, all the while pounding the mini to pulp. He intended to tenderize the dog, but as it was an inkling, it was mostly to get all the ink out.

Flour was piled and shaped into a bowl, where he cracked scary eggs into it and added the gathered ink. Quickly he whisked the wet ingredients until it was incorporated enough to be handled. Beats began to knead the dough and when it was firm enough, he let it settle to deal with the scraps of meat leftover from the inkling. It wasn't a lot and had the consistency of mush but he drained and seasoned it the best he could. The veggies and mollu were chopped, then diced, then sauted before the meat was added in the pan. While the concoction cooked and the liquid within was reduced from the heat, Beats rolled the black dough flat and sliced out rectangles. The smaller sheets of dough and meat were layered alternately into several dishes, and with unusual reverence was placed into the oven to bake.

Once the ding alerted he was done, Beats opened the door, and promptly learned the valuable lesson of using mittens (or a clean towel) when taking the dishes out of a hot oven. With leaves plucked from the kitra, the shoe haunt finished decorating his creation, not in the least intending for the garnish to counterbalance the meat's gameyness. The dull throb of burned fingers kept Beats from being too nervous as he floated towards the judges with his entry. With a soft, dreamy voice, he introduced his, "Baked inkling lasagna." And left it at that.
