Camelot was not sure what he was going to say next, or how he could make what he did seem like the right thing. He killed someone. Yes, that someone was liable to kill everyone she ran into, including all of his friends and family, but it was still a line he had crossed. He felt like a monster for it, but could not bring himself to talk much more about it.
Thankfully, there was a distraction to focus on.
This man that Zia seemed to like so much, Chester. He took Zia into his arms and held on to her protectively without a word, looking up at Camelot and nodding his head stiffly after a moment. At her urging, he managed to clear his throat.
"Hello, Camelot," Chester said. He had heard a lot about the knight, from Zia and others. He was surprised that he was actually nervous to meet the other. What was this, meeting her parents? Was he impressive enough? Was he supposed to impress?
Camelot nodded his head in greeting, but felt a strong urge to flee.
"Take good care of her, Chester. She's been through a lot, which she will have to tell you about, and I will come back soon to check on you both, okay? For now, I think my aura has lingered here long enough. Zia, you'll have to tell me what happened soon." He bowed to both of them before he retreated, very old instincts of flight coming back to him in a surprising way. He had not run from anything in a long time.
