Indigo was not the best of rescuers. Despite the yelling and hallooing over by Sahra's tree, she'd managed to get distracted rooting around the...roots...of one of the massive trees. She'd thought she'd seen a particularly tasty-looking bug--but no, such was not to be. She sat back on her heels momentarily, once more catching sight of the pink-and-colorful-and-loud blur, and then a reddish sort of blur that was definitely familiar--and calling out her name.
"'Noki!" Indigo started to her feet, dusting off her knees and hustling over to where the others were. "Wh--hey, what's going on here?" she added, antennae semaphoring her interest and concern. Lessee, she could smell 'Noki, a cat, the birdy-girl in front of her, and--more birds? Indigo tilted her head back to look up at the tree at Sahra and the bluejays. At this distance, she could actually see the cheetah girl--and blinked rapidly.
"...Oh-oh." The predicament here was rapidly becoming apparent. Shoot--what was the cheetah girl's name? The little birdy girl was babbling something about Sah...Sah, Sah--oh! "Sahra! Can't you just fall down?" This was the obvious solution! She glanced at Anoki sidelong, shooting her fellow-climber a grin. Only then did she notice the cast on the ibex's arm, something that made her blink. "...What happened to your arm?"

"Get hurt? Nuh-uh! I fall out of trees all the time!" Indigo said immediately. Then she thought about that statement a moment, before glancing down and rubbing the back of her neck, shame-faced. "Oh," she added, in a mumble. "I guess you've got bones an' stuff like that that could break. That would hurt." Even smaller: "I guess."
She glanced over at Anoki again for reassurance, and an idea suddenly occured to her. "Hey! I know! You can fall on me!" Indigo squeezed past Gabby, out to where she could see Sahra trying to get away from the bluejays. "I'll catch you! I'm squishy, so you won't get hurt!" The perfect landing pad.

Well of course she'd get hurt! Her bones would probably shatter-- okay, maybe not shatter, but one or two would surely at least break. But it wasn't long before she was curled up again in her defensive position, full face buried in the branch since she was to afraid of getting her eye poked out by the beaks of one of the birds. "Of course it would..." She mumbled under her breath, mostly only loud enough for her to hear, since her voice was now muffled by her arms, hair, and the soft wood of the branch.
"What?!" Shooting upwards, her sudden actions scared away the birds, at least momentarily, and her gaze immediately shot down to the purple coloured creature below her. "I couldn't da-do that! Are you crazy!? I'd be to afraid of hurting you...even if you say I can't..."

Indigo smiled blithely, completely unconcerned, thick tail swishing back and forth with the force of her cheer. "'Noki fell on me once!" she assured. "It didn't hurt at all! 'Sides, how're you gonna get out of the tree?" The velvet worm paused, placing a hand to her lips briefly as she thought about this. "I could climb up there, I guess, but--"
She colored, briefly, antennae scrunching with embarassment. "I don't usually, uhm, climb down." Another pause, as she turned to watch the birds scatter every which direction at Sahra's yell. "...uhm..." Well, it'd probably work climbing down the same way it did climbing up, right? The velvet worm canted her head back, staring up at Sahra once more. "Well, it's better than sleeping in the tree an' starving!" she added, entirely too cheerful.

After mumbling to herself for a few moments, falling back down onto the branch to cling to it due to a wind that had gusted through the tree tops, Sahra thought over the situation. If that boy had fallen onto her before, than maybe it'd be okay for her to? She sounded so sure, but she really didn't want to! But if it's what she really had to do, maybe it would be okay... But what if something did go wrong? What if she didn't land on her? There were so many more bad possibilities than there were good.
"Okay, fine...I can try I guess, I am pretty sure I can trust you...you sound sure enough." Sighed, the cheetah make a slight effort to pull her claws out of the tree, hoping she didn't do to much damage to it, she looked down at the purple being below her. "What am I supposed to do, just...let go?" Not feeling sure made her feel extremely uncomfortable, and she more definitely needed to be reassured.

Between the talkative pink person and the spotty one in the tree, Anoki was so distracted he didn't even hear Indigo's question at first, or her suggestion. He'd never been around so many people his own age before, except in class.
When he finally tuned back in, he shivered a little. "F-falling's b-bad. D-d-don't fall!" His eyes travelled to his arm. He fell, and not even from that high! "I f-fell. G-got broked."
And while yes, he had fallen on Indigo, that didn't mean that she would be okay if someone bigger fell on her! Even if she was bigger now too. There had to be a better way to get someone out of a tree, but Anoki couldn't think of any. Still... "S-shouldn't fall. B-b-be c-careful."

"But--" Indigo's eyes strayed over to Anoki as he spoke up, her expression becoming faintly distressed. She all but missed the cracking of the branch as she asked of the ibex, "It broke? Does it still hurt?" She didn't miss it, though, then the branch hit the ground with a tremendous crash. In fact, she nearly jumped out of her purple hide, antennae sticking straight up with alarm and tail switching back and forth.
Oh no! If the branch had fallen down, had Sahra fallen with it and gotten broked herself? Indi cast about for the cheetah girl, gray eyes huge and worried. When nothing was forthcoming, she looked up again--only to see Sahra sliding down the trunk of the tree, headed right for them. "Eee! No, no, Sahra!" She darted back out of instinct, then reconsidered and darted forward again, holding up all four arms and dancing from foot to foot in agitation.
"Ee!"

Anoki was conflicted. Part of him wanted to say that the girl should drop- after all, he knew from experience that Indigo was rather squishy. But he also knew that falling hurt. A lot. And that wasn't the only thing that bothered him either. Most of him wanted to do absolutely everything he could to help that girl who was stuck in the tree. It must be so scary up there! But there was one, tiny part deep inside that just wanted to run away.
When the branch came crashing down he jumped backwards to get out of the way, letting out a loud yelp as he did. That was scary! Trembling all over, he looked up to see the girl still in the tree, slowly sinking closer to them. He dashed forward, closer to the tree, to get a better look.
If she could slide all the way down she would be fine, right?
"S-slide d-down! B-but be c-careful!" Eyeing Indigo and the other girl, he nodded. They could help catch the falling girl, right?
