Hong-Nan Lavencia TheBlankPoints Any help would be awesome!~ biggrin If they are willing to give it up that is. Yeah, my bet is they won't though. If what they said about the security breach is true, with the code on our hands, we'd have direct access to just about all of Gaia. Chances that we'd get the code is slim to none. I still think they should recycle the game/physics engines, sprites, and scripts though... What if they background checked everyone who was going to have access and had a dev monitoring them. That way gaia is assured that they are not getting a nefarious person coding for them. I know none of us are nefarious but gaia does not know that. I would also code if I knew how. I should learn for work so it can be another skill set. They could force an agreement on the devs if they are willing to give it up. Something something, this information, blah blah, court of law.

Unless we install some sort of program that monitors everything, I believe this is illegal for big companies like gaia. >.<;

I guess we cross our fingers and hope that they'd be willing to get free labor.

TheBlankPoints As a programmer and a zOMG player I have a mighhhty need to get a crack at the source code to see if it can be fixed, if it actually needs to be fixed. I'm so confident that if it does exist that it can be fixed. What does everyone else think? i don't know if zomg can be saved but without zomg gaia it's unnecessary and i'll let him

I sent them a business inquiry through their main website, where they talk and about their other games as well. So I'm hoping at least for a response saying no. If they would say yes, due to the fact its a security hole they'd probably have to keep anyone involved under a specific obligation. Nothing's guaranteed though so fingers crossed.

I really hope that the staff accepts your offer and also, the other volunteers for start fixing the code. But in a way I think (as many other people) that after the new CEO, the ammounts of gold generators -> charms appearing -> charms generator -> zOMG! finale -> neglicence with users is for take the last milking for users before leaving the site. In any case, good luck!~

In any case, good luck!~ I agree with you, if they make any large moves after this one it'll be the closing of Gaia. They have plenty of mobile games now and at this point are just milking cash from everyone. I'd say zOMG was the last fun or unique browser MMO compared to the other ones, so if this is how it ends then this is how it ends. sad
