Could you add features that won't be brought back like personals/VideoJournal/zOMG to the Frequently Asked Questions sticky with apropriate posts?

This is something we can consider!

The custom project forum still needs more stickies to be consolidated. And you could delete the ones pertaining to tickets that were a limited time event that ended.

There is a huge issue over in the Religion and Morality forum. Mods keep moving threads about Pagan/Wiccan religions over to the Supernatural forum. They should have the right to post about their religion in the forum designated for religions. Not a forum that is for creepypastas and horror stories. I surely hope that this is being done out of ignorance and you're not intentionally discriminating against others. The mods moving the threads aren't really willing to listen, and it's becoming quite irritating. Please can you look into this and stop?

Question originally asked by ( user wanted to remain anonymous )

This is something we can take a look into and figure out what might be going on in this forum! Sorry for the inconvenience!

Can the rules for the paw forum be changed? Suddenly a ton of threads in the paw forum have been moved to the chatterbox because they arent "paw related" and as stated before by the staff, you will not create any more paw centered subforums, so the paw community is asking that you change the rules of the paw forum. Instead of everything having to be paw centered maybe just make it a hub where all pawbased users can chat and hangout.

This is something that was can definitely consider! No guarantees that we will actually be able to do it, but we can put it under consideration.

Question:
In minishops, are we going to see a subforum created for adoptables? Or even better splitting it up For Pixels, customizable pets (like the Were shop, etc), Cafe (for the shops that sell foods). Currently those shops are being pushed away with all the adoptables.

We have decided to move forward with a subforum for Adoptables, we're in the process of creating rules and deciding how we want the forum to run. However, we will more than likely not be splitting it up any further than that.

Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to make it so that under the username of someone you are married to it could say something other than "your friend"?

Also if there could be some way to share items and money with a spouse, like joint accounts.

We'll take a look, might be a better place to show the title in general.

I was wonderin' why we can't post in the Clans of Battle Forums. I didn't see a warnin' about it bein' sticky. We had a thread there that we still posted in, and now we no longer can't.

It was part of an effort to consolidate some of our inactive forums. We posted a sticky to let users know that the forum would be closed and left it up for an extra day after that. The forum was seeing little traffic and we're allowing users who have threads in that forum to have them moved to Friends Chat so they can still hang out and post.

The sticky was moved to the z!F forum for users to be notified. If you message me with the thread, I can move it to another forum for you.

Is there any chance of additional subforums being added to the Paw forum? emo We could really use an art or RNG subforum.

We're more than likely not going to be adding additional subforums to Paws because they don't hugely serve a purpose. The reason being that in order to access those forums you would have to be a Paw, but as soon as you change back to a human avatar then you can't access the forum and the "uniqueness" of being a Paw inside of a Paw-only forum is gone, as users would see your human avatar and not your Paw avatar. What we could do, and have considered, is lightening up the rules of the Paws forum to be more akin to Heaven which would serve your purpose.

Is there a way to get smaller font sizes to not effect the spacing of emotes?
Example: This is size 9 font with an emote within its brackets. ninja
For me, the ninja emote gets cropped a little at the bottom.
But if I put the emote out of the size bracket it's fine. ninja
I've used size 9 font in my post style for the longest time, and I don't recall that happening until the past year or so.

Why do we have a Chatterbox and a General Discussion. Both are full of spam, both are pretty much carbon copies of each other. Why do we need to have two forums for the same thing?

Question is originally by "user wanted to remain anonymous"

Chatterox has looser guidelines than General Discussions, that being, Chatterbox is for literally anything that isn't a TOS violation. GD still needs to have some semblance of discussion for threads and can't hold things such as contests, art threads, etc.

Are they ever going to increase the 50k character number per post limit? It's ridiculously small for us resource guide makers. Maybe there could be a small gold fee paid in order to increase it by 10k per certain post? I'd be willing to pay it, honestly. I've had to re-make my sets/recolor guide soooo many times now due to hitting character limits. Just curious if it'll EVER be increased..

I think it would be a great idea because Gaians could announce their marriages in it in threads and possibly even hold parties, contests, and people could give gifts to the couples in their threads because of their marriage. So totally new at this but hey worth a shot!
Anyway my question is: Is there anyway to add a banning system to the forums?

I ask because a lot of RP, Charity and Art forums get a lot of hate from trolls and just over all rude Gaians. And while those who respect and follow the rules and report the person for their behavior there is no way to truly stop these people from coming back. So maybe by adding the banning system we can control who can come and who can't come into the threads keeping the black list of threads truly a black list. This also keeps those few Gaian's who have a stalker from coming in and seeing what they do and then getting harassed. Yes I know the ignore feature hits on some of that but at the same time it can't completely stop someone from causing issues. This is just my feelings though.

A banning system wouldn't actually solve this problem because you still wouldn't be able to restrict a user's mule accounts. The ignore list effectively does everything a banning system would do for you. If you do not like a user coming into your thread, simply ignore them and they can no longer come into your threads. A banning system would effectively do the same thing.

Weight loss threads / Tracker Threads
Any thread discussing weight loss, diets trends, types of exercise, etc. are permitted in this forum. Tracker threads are similar to support groups and are permitted. Keep track of how much weight you've lost, discuss your struggles, and work together helping each other.

Isn't this better suited for the Health and Fitness forum?

Will there ever be a reporting option that will allow for a very quick review? I know lately I've been seeing more things that need to immediately (or as fast as possible) be deleted, and it'd be nice if there was a category/ button that would be able to be used to indicate that need.

I realize that this could also then have people abusing it, but some kind of a action listed maybe that would penalize if used wrongly might help?

(cause it's sometimes hard to track down an online mod and if sending info via pm is not always the fastest method)

[I don't usually archive answers from Moderators since their knowledge is less comprehensive than that of actual Staff members, but I made an exception for this one. -Platonix]
Selecting what kind of offense you're reporting is already an option. The Moderating team handles the more important reports (SEM/SIM, Inappropriate Content) first as priority since these are things that need to be removed first and foremost. Right now the Moderating team is around 40 people, which isn't too many, and we're people too who have real life things to do so we can't always be modding.

If you see anything such as porn being posted, go to the top of that forum you're in and look up Forum Moderators and find any green name that is online, we'll happily get rid of that stuff if we're messaged about it since it could sit in a report queue when some of us are just checking in and not looking at the queue.

As for abusing the report system, we already have Report Abuse as an offense we warn for.

I believe this question belongs here.
Would you consider creating item lists for the RIGs you produce? I know that there are users who create lists based off of what other users claim to get from various RIGs, but I know this is a very long process, and sometimes I question the validity of said lists.

For new item CIs, part of the fun is for users to come together and try to make the lists themselves. I'd hate to take away that part of the excitement of CI launch day by providing a list. Currently, our announcements call out some item highlights that are contained within CIs, but the entire list is not distributed. However, I understand where you're coming from regarding the validity of user lists. If you have a question or want to verify whether something actually drops from the CI, many of the GCD users are on top of things, or you can try quoting a staff member such as myself or bluealaris for a validity check.

As a discussion topic: How does the GCD feel about Gaia providing "official" item lists instead of being user-generated? Do you feel it will take away from some of the excitement of being a GCD regular? (A potential Gaia-created item list would be released at least 24 hours after launch.)

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Is there some compromise that we could have? Maybe the staff could send the list to the person who makes a thread that day 24 hours after the RIG release? That way they can double check the item list so the admin doesn't have to spend their limited time releasing RIG lists everyday? Then if there are any further questions, users can contact Admins with a specific issue regarding this?

I just did my first list thread on Saturday and it was such a good experience, seeing lots of unique items getting released and conversing with everyone. I'd hate to see the Daily Threads go away, they have spawned unique interactions like the April Fools day switching and the Beach Party (which is still in my journal). Please don't take away the daily threads. emo

I agree, I feel like making item lists is a great experience in the GCD forum and I don't want to take that away! However, if two different users created item lists for that day, wouldn't it be unfair if one person was PMed a list and the other wasn't? I feel like it's difficult for Gaia to "officially" step in to CI item lists without making someone feeling like they've been left out, because it's impossible for us to be able to respond to everyone, every day, all the time. crying I think it might be best if we staff members step in on an "as needed" basis, like if there's controversy over whether something is actually dropping or not, that we can help as a referee.

Saw last week that you had a bit of a talk here about item lists. I'd like to put in my two cents.

What about something the lines of [x] amount of time after every RIG (not CI update, just RIG), a staff member posts a new list thread with the entire contents?

Something that's been on my mind for a while is that I feel like list threads should be community resources. No matter who you are, you should be able to access them. However, because I'm pretty vocal about taking zero bullshit, I'm ignoring/ignored by several prominent GCD personalities and cannot see threads they make. This is usually a good thing, but it also means I can't look at their list threads. So I have to go onto a different account, load all the items I want to examine, log into a different account, and reload every single tab. That's quite a bit of dicking around for large RIGs.

There are some other users that make lists that I really don't want to see any other content from, but I can't block them because then I won't get to see item lists without tons of unnecessary bs.

A staff member posting the list in a new thread would be completely accessible to anyone, because you can't block staff as far as I'm aware. Lock the thread so that only staff can post and have a link in the relevant post to the day's update thread in the GCD. Doing it that way won't kill community fun or discussion.

It would also have the benefit of making it so that people who run list threads don't have work on them stretched out over days (or months when rereleased). I did an item list for that bikini recolor summer event and it was annoying the way items were distributed/found because it was a week-long commitment to updating that, and I know some of the ppl who blocked me had to unblock me to see the list (that's when I started thinking about all this). Heck, you could even just copy and paste what the daily thread already had, credit the user who did it, and add any items we hadn't found yet.

So I guess, my question is, would you please consider having staff threads that post and confirm the content found in RIGs x amount of time after the RIG's release? I believe it would make the whole thing much more accessible and fair to every user.

Goodness, how many people have you blocked? Honestly, though, the staff does its best to make sure user lists are complete for CIs but otherwise we just don't have the time to maintain master-lists of CI content.

Can you give us options to hide our post history from the public?
You give us privacy options for our profiles, equipped item list, and journals. You even let us hide the guilds that we are in from being viewed in our profile.
I don't really see why we cant we have these same privacy options for our posting history... Obviously we cant hide our history from mods, staff members, and forum assistants. But I don't see why we have to be forced to have the option to allow other random regular members to look through our entire history in one sitting. Like it's one thing when you find a post in the forums but I don't see why we have to have the "view post history" buttons available to everyone.

Like give us options to make it to where friends only can view our entire history in one sitting, an option where absolutely no one but the staff/mods/FA's can view our history in one sitting, and an option to where we can keep it public if we want too.

Question/Suggestion is originally by Nenanah

Unfortunately we don't have any plans to implement a way to hide your post history. The forum is a public forum so we don't necessarily have a reason to hide your post history when users could find it, additionally, there are valid reasons why users would want to check your post history that we feel it's not worth taking from them. So I wouldn't expect this to happen, sorry!

It's something we could consider! In the meantime, go ahead and keep suggesting them in SF or in the item suggestion thread!

I know it's been asked about before, but can the Paws forum possibly see an update to the rules? Even just a simple clause stating clearly that topics not discussing the base in some way are or are not allowed (as it is now, there's nothing saying I can't make a thread about gardening and have it not be moved, but if I were to make one it's pretty much a guarantee that it would end up elsewhere)
-obviously we would prefer that we be allowed general topics in there, because without them it's hard to keep a community, but personally I would just like something clear either way-

This is something that we're definitely discussing and taking a look at, so no worries there! We hear some of the concerns you have and we'll be reviewing the rules to ensure they make sense for what the community has evolved into now.

Can charities and giveaways get their own subforum? This way the questing forum is less cluttered and the charities and giveaways are easier to find...

Question is asked by Nenanah.

This is something we could certainly consider for the future.
