I'm loving the quick Avatar Contests you're running in the GCD lately, but a lot of people get confused as to when they end, and keep posting their avatars long after the deadline. In the future, do you think you could alter the subject line, first post, or both, to indicate that the submission period is over and judging has begun, so that so many late entries don't keep coming in? I miss them Yeah we had a Crosstitch update back in January but to be honest we received very few entries to the contest. We'll definitely run more in the future and I hope more people will enter their designs. I think one thing that hurts the contest is when the theme for it isn't something popular, so less people have ideas that can fit into the theme. That may be the case but in general every contest we get fewer and fewer entries indicating that maybe they're not that popular ;___; We certainly don't mind running or making the items so it's not the last contest you'll see. Kind of like how Fishing's really competitive and there are trophies to be won at the end of the month. It'd be fun if there more competitions like that. It's an interesting idea, we might be able to actually pull this off, maybe not a fully-fledged tournament system like fishing, but monthly contests we can run. March 23rd, 2015: bluealaris Nenanah Misc Someone has raised the issues for the diminishing number of users gaia is having, so as a suggestion why don't you create a contest where Gaian's can create a blog (FB/Tumblr/Any Social Media Site) about Gaia on other sites and give out worthwhile prizes like LQI / Exclusive Items. They can write a Gaia Guide (Since most Gaia Online Guide on Google is outdated) or they can create an art post or things about what they like on Gaia and the likes of that. Gaia is severely lacking new contents when it is searched in Google so we probably need new contents to flow out there to attract new users Question is originally by Kitsunen I agree, and I think this is a fantastic idea. We've already had fanart contests on Gaia but I would definitely like to be able to post these contests onto other sites. This would prevent late entries and possibly make it easier for the staff to judge, resulting in a faster release of the results. Thanks for the feedback! Could there perhaps be a poll in the GCD for what gaians would like to see as their next contest theme? (It might also help if, like the avatar dress up contests, there's certain specified categories of winners 3nodding ) I think for our next Cross Stitch contest we will definitely have to build an event around it. Any plans for this in the (not so) distant future? Personally, I wouldn't mind just writing the story and seeing what item the artists came up with, but that's because writing>art for me. May 4th, 2015: bluealaris x L i g h t x S o r a x Features/Contest/Art/Items????In the pass few Ask the Staff ago, a staff member (sorry I forgot who) said that we might see a CrosStitch contest coming out soon. My question is will the prize money and the entry fee going to be bumped up to match this economy. Since the entry fee is only 10,000 gold and the winnings is 20,000 gold. I mean winning back double your gold entry fee is fine but maybe a bumping them up will give people motive to enter again. 3nodding Yes, the entry fee was changed recently, and we'll be raising it again, along with the prize.

If this item sells out before the Tickets are found, a raffle will be held using the Tailored Trendsetters as entries to guarantee that there will be winners" Does this mean that I have to have an unopened copy of the tailored trendsetters in my invet to go into the raffle? Or does it still count if I have opened/used them? It still counts if you've used them, since it tracks purchasing through La Victoire and also through the MP. 3nodding

They are always announced but we never get to see how Gaia came about with those specific winners. Do you draw names from a hat, or just pick the name that sounds coolest, or straight up rig it and pick friends? Raffle winners are picked from a randomly generated list, though choosing them based on coolness of name sounds like a good idea now that you mention it.

Would you be able to make a thread somewhere, maybe it the contest archive? And just make a post everytime a raffle has ended and the prizes given out? even if you don't mention the user who received it, just so we can check and go "Oh look xx raffle ended yesterday and they've given the prize out!" We probably won't be doing something like this as not all the winners don't want to be named. Not even just a thread or something to say that the prize has been given out? without any mention of users at all?
Literally just so that we know not to wait for said raffle/prize and so we know that its been given out? Ah okay, yes, then Tailored Stylist (golden and regular) have been given out and this is something we can definitely consider doing for future raffles. We also have the Opal Ticket, but how about a contest where Gaians submit art for an original kin with maybe a grand prize of 1 lucky Gaian getting their kin converted into the game, or perhaps just other prizes with the possibility of all the winners seeing their kin added to the game in the future, but not a guarantee? Question rephrased ftw xD That's a very cute idea - could be a revised Cross-Stitch of sorts. ^ u ^
