"Naw man. The right thing is a real thing. It's a real solid thing. But it might no be what the rest of the world thinks is right." he patted his chest where his heart was. "But if you ******** feel it here. If you know you are right, if you know what you are doing just feels ******** right, then you are doing the right thing. If you don't feel guilty or shitty, you are doing the right thing. And you don't always need to see a ******** difference, the world changes but it doesn't always change in ways we can see man. " he smirked.
"Its still turning today because of us. And nae c**t out there knows it. Not one of them. But they don't need to, because if they knew they'd ******** it all up again."
He picked up a chopped log and tossed it on the pile.
"For a long, long ******** time I was nothing but a drain on the world, on all the ******** people who knew me. If I died the human race would gain a bit of net worth. But now I've made a difference, even in a ******** tiny way, and I'm going to keep making a difference. Because I believe in this place. I do. Its s**t, things go wrong, some of the leaders are lunatics. But that's nae different from the rest of the world man. Its s**t, but its our shitty little island."
He gestured at the course. "Its things like this, like this, like the bar, like all the singular projects people do for the sake of making s**t better here for everyone else, even knowing they are shitheads, even knowing you won't see it change that makes the difference. Sometimes you just have to keep moving for a longass time in the dark, in hopelessness, in blind faith before you find yourself in that place you always wanted to be."
It was anyone's guess who he was advising more, himself or Otto.

"Yanno, you're surprisingly inspirational when you wanna be." Otto remarked with confidence. He wouldn't go as far as to prod the man to be this positive all of the time. Rep did what he wanted, usually. Maybe just applauding the good stuff would make it happen a little more often. Otto chucked more jagged logs into the cart with a huff. They were well on their way to making a pit of pointy doom into reality. "I kinda get a sick sense of satisfaction watching a training course get put into action. Should'a seen some of the attempts on the last one I made. It was kind of hilarious." "Uh... yanno... important and serious... but ******** hilarious." They were after all golems in there... but still. Slapstick humour was the best.

Rep gave Otto a very skeptical look. "I ******** wish. I get enthusiastic about things and people get ******** livid. I try and be pally with them and they are like - " and he put on a shrill falsetto, holding the axe to his chest like a purse. "Oh no my delicate sensibilities, Rep you are so rude." He snorted. "I prefer people getting pissed at me for being negative than getting pissed at me for being enthusiastic or open with them. Stings too ******** much."
He sharpened another up. "I care a lot about a lot s**t, you'd just never know it to look at me."
Waving it vaguely he agreed. "Naw its totally satisfying. Like for my hoard I had to rig up a lot of traps." And it was a lot of traps and growing every day, his paranoia immense even at its lowest ebb. "And I would love to see some of them in action. This would be just as ******** nice to see I think. "

Otto smirked and shook his head. Rep's impression of others was beyond silly. It was comical in a cartoony kind of way. But Otto couldn't say much about Rep's experience with them. His idea of being positive wasn't always.. positive. The blonde shrugged and decided to let it go. "Well, if you ever wanna put that trap setting experience to use, hit me up. I still got two other courses to design after this sucker is up." The Sahara and the Arctic... wait.. "Oh yeah. One of the plots of land I got hold of is in the Arctic. You got a s**t ton of experience with that kind of environment, right?"

"I'm always available for whatever, before the island like, we used to booby trap any buildings we grew weed and s**t in so the polis would get hurt if they tried to raid it. Electrified light switches and s**t. I wasn't the best guy at it, we had some who were ******** amazing at thinking up awful s**t to do, but there's still a bit of satisfaction in traps."
He grinned at Otto. "And aye the Arctic is like my ******** home away from home at this point, spend way too ******** much time there."

"I don't see the appeal. Too damned cold." Otto would never get used to anything below tropical weather. "I'd take the Sahara and the Amazon any day over ******** penguin land."

"Well I've no had much try to kill me there yet. So there's that. Its mostly peaceful without ******** zillions of people running around. And there's no bugs. No snakes. I'd never ******** take the sahara over anything." And he was surprised to find that Otto would prefer the desert to anywhere no matter how shitty.
"Besides I like the cold, even that ******** cold, its satisfying. I hate this ******** clammy ******** island and its heat, its an escape."

"No bug is nice, but it just brings the point home that nothing can ******** survive in the Arctic.... 'cept you." As evidenced by Rep's preference of the cold.

"Aw I'm flattered." he said with a grin. "But I tend to be happier in places where no c**t can survive. I'm one of those unfortunate ******** who can't stand being around too many people. More eyes on me, the more ******** paranoid I get that they are going to ******** me over. Out there the only eyes on me are dumb seal eyes."
He shrugged. "I come back feeling calmer, more zen than any amount of time on this shithole island could make me feel." he tossed another log over. "Well, this is nice I guess, but most of the s**t is ******** intolerable. I'm no a social butterfly, I'd prefer if I only had to deal with people I can tolerate."
He smirked at Otto. "Oddly enough, you are one of the allright guys to tolerate, I mean all hitting on you aside. Because you know that s**t's for the crack of it mostly. You are a good looking bloke, don't get me wrong, and I think you know it. But realistically? You are way ******** out of my league, even if you were gay. I'm more suited to assholes." and he got back to work. "Just." another chop "like" and another "me."

Thank <********> it was for shits and giggles. Sometimes Otto worried if he needed to avoid walking home at night alone. It wasn't hard to tell that Otto did n fact take pride in his own appearance, so it was easy to flatter him by saying he was good looking, no matter what gender or orientation they were. Buttered up real good. "Well, I ain't arguing that you're a ********' a*****e." Otto drawled, chipping more logs into points. "But honestly you're more of an a** on Twitter than one on one. You're a Hell of a lot more tolerable in person." And hilarious when drunk. "I don't like crowds either, really. I'll stop in to a party to grab their food, but that's it."

Rep smirked toothily at Otto. "Dunno wether to take that as a compliment or an insult." he said, but it was clear that he took it as the former. "Twitter just makes me ******** paranoid, in person its a lot ******** easier to see people as people and a lot less ******** irritating in person."
He nodded. "And aye, I know that feeling. Before the island I used to have to be off my ******** face on crack to be able to ******** tolerate people, sometimes drunk on top. Otherwise I'd just end up on my ******** last nerve and apt to smash a tumbler on someone's ******** face."
He sighed, picking up another log. "We've fair gone through these quick." he commented.

"I hear ya. People kinda suck. I was home schooled mostly, but I got to try out going to High School in grade nine? Got kicked out two months in cause I threw a desk at the teacher." Otto had been a much more temperamental boy then than he was now. Seeing shadows and other distracting things hadn't helped either, further alienating an already ornery and awkward teen. "Yeah, it goes by quicker when there's somethin' to distract from the tedious...ness..." He chucked the remaining logs into the cart. "Let's get all these ******** tied down into the pit, and call it a day."

Rep smirked. "That's where desks ******** belong. Eh I had to go to school, I got free lunches and s**t, it was the only meal I ******** got. But I'd just cause trouble or dog classes, I ******** hated school. Most of it anyway."
He nodded and headed over to stand by the cart with a smirk. "Aye, misery always loves company."

"I get a lot of mixed opinions on school. Not particularly jealous of anyone who did. Dunno if it woulda sucked less than bein' at home or not." Both sucked equally terrible, from what little he'd experienced of high school. Kids were dicks. His dad was a d**k. His mother was a work-a-holic. Life sucked lemons. Dirty, stinking lemons. He'd never argue that his upbringing was any worse than someone else's. Just that it sucked for him. "Yeah, that'll do it." Misery did love company, and occasional company helped pass the time. With Rep's help, he dragged the cart off toward the pit of doom. A working title that would likely stick. "This one's gunna be the last one I make that's an obstacle course. I'm gunna try and come up with more situational s**t for the others. Like, findin' your way out of a trap, and stuff."

Rep wandered along behind the cart, willing to take a turn but doubting with Otto's strength that he would have to.
"There are a lot of people on the island I'd like to have an excuse to shut in a box." he said with a smirk. "Be like, escape this ******** and just leave them there." He cleared his throat. "Reasons why I'm no allowed to do obstacle courses are pretty obvious I guess. I like that you are doing all this s**t though man, its great to get people actually thinking about s**t before they find themselves in that predicament."
He looked thoughtful. "I just wish there was a way to like train them how to have even a ******** fraction of discipline."
