Cee waved her hand at both of her friends as if they were amateurs. "I a'ready got pitchers.." Her finger slid between them. "Of both'a youse." The plastic of a cell phone peeked from between her breasts. That fact she hadn't gotten any just made her bitchy about him getting one. She didn't want a pity number. "He ain't that straight if he's givin you his number, boyfren." With not a single thing presenting itself, Cee sighed. "Plan's tha same. Back ta our chairs. Keep an eye out. Look fer real sunscreen." There was a 'team dismissed' hand wave. and be blue rolling now so I don't have to double post

"He wasn't interested in me, Cee." He'd tuck it, almost thoughtlessly, into her cleavage -- and then ease back to his post. Almost as soon as he was there, the problems started to kick up. Kids approached his stand with wide eyes to let him know about a guy stranded on the rocks, and since he'd rescued people before, couldn't he help out again? Unfortunately, he couldn't say 'no'. He climbed down and made his way across the beach more reluctantly now, not wanting to step in any more...presents. And since he was watching his feet, maybe he missed some of the other odd behavior. But the guy on the rocks, that he couldn't ignore. This wasn't exactly a baywatch-style run-and-grab. Instead, the water was shallow enough that Ever could touch the ground with one toe, and it was more about coaxing the freaked out swimmer down from his stone to wiggle his way free. Twenty minutes of his life, gone, spent exasperated and damp, struggling to keep afloat. It was the kids, finally, that got him down, and once back on the sand, he was wrapped in a towel. Crisis averted. Except, not ten minutes later, there was another. And a third. And that, certainly, was odd. By the end of the afternoon, Ever was going to be frowning deeply.

The blonde waggled her eyebrows at Ever, "Dunno why he'd want to see you with your clothes on either, Hurricane." Paige laughed outright when Ever tucked the number into Cee's cleavage, and she continued to chuckle at herself as she made her way back to her post. It didn't take long for the weird s**t to start happening. Not twenty feet away from Paige someone collapsed on the sand, their entire body seizing. She hopped down from her chair and darted over as fast as she could dart in the sand, rolling the person onto their side and clearing their airway once they stopped thrashing. Last thing she wanted was to get her goddamn finger bitten off. It wasn't until she'd straightened that she noticed the odd piece of candy on the sand, sticky and gritty. It looked a little too familiar, and Paige bent to pick it up. It was a ******** FEAR candy. She took it back to her chair with her, setting it to the side so that she could show Cee and Ever once they met back up again.

Cee had been to a lot of resorts. She knew how it all worked. In fact, with absolutely nothing happening (though she could vaguely make out Ever having quite a bit to do AND Paige), she'd taken to looking for drug dealers. Yes. Deliberately. Because on every single ******** tropical resort, there was some little kid or some teenager or some popsicle vendor who also would sell you weed. Once, in Jamaica, a 9 year old boy led her to a canoe off the beaten path where his uncle or brother or father sold her the biggest bag of bud she'd ever seen. She would looooove to bring that back to the dorms. The woman was quick on the uptake following groups that gathered together briefly (never even long enough for a conversation) only to break apart again. She often saw a flash of bills, shine on plastic bags. Cee grinned and climbed down but as soon as she got to the sand, the people she'd spotted were gone. She didn't find much odd about it, though the groups were numerous and the dealers not native. She was there on the sand still when the clock ticked away and ended their shift. If the others noticed anything they'd have to check it out, but thinking that she'd only seen normal resort behavior, Cee was ready to go home. pinchmonster she thinks this is normal

"People are being weird." Ever didn't have the evidence Paige did, just a generalized gut feeling -- and, well, all the people oddly afraid of the water. He swiped damp hair back out of his face as he approached Cee, turning to look at whatever she was. Where Cee had darkened two shades and Paige had, likely, tanned, Ever was mostly the same color. Mostly. Except for the red swatch across his nose, and over the tops of his shoulders. No tan, no freckling. Just a burn. "They're excessively afraid of swimming, even in shallow water...like something has them riled up, maybe?" He shook his head just a little bit, peering out to make sure no one else was in the shallows, trapped. "Or like there's something there, maybe?" Off-target, but not a terrible guess.

"I ******** found this," Paige held up the candy that had been horked up by some dipshit on the beach. "It's a FEAR candy. Think it's pretty obvious what's going down around here, you think?" She'd noticed people acting kind of weird, too, but most of her attention had been directed at the dude seizing on the beach. "Guy was having a seizure and then spat this out once he woke up enough to realize what the ******** was going on." Paige glanced at Cee. And her tits. But mostly her face (tits). "What next, bosslady?"

The pieces fit together and Cee looked a bit put out. "Fuuuuhk. That means them drugs deals weren't weed." She'd kept their bags safe under her chair and handed them back so they could change. The evening was coming on and the beach hours ended. "That means we actually gotta work." Her shirt was pulled on, eyes dragging over the lingering groups spaced out across the beach. "I think I seen the guy dealin.. or at leas'a goon." Quote: 2. You notice something off about one of the people you kept seeing in groups. Following them later, you notice they don't go to the parking lot or any of the small parties. instead they go into the showers after everyone is gone, despite not being dressed for swimming or showing any interest in the water all day. You enter the shower just in time to see them removing their face. The illusion drops, and you find a creature slowly removing a suit made of actual human skin. The Dealer is a creature of Halloween in disguise. Upon seeing you they try to run. Roll 1d20 to keep them from escaping, 13-20 is success. Mob: Dealer Creature (species/race is your choice) HP: 40 Auto Damage: 3 Special: If you bring their HP between 1-5 then you may capture them and bring them back to Deus. Otherwise they dissipate when they hit 0. Should you fail, a stranger will try to rescue you. Roll 1 d10 to determine if they survive. (6-10 means they live.) Cee had them hang around to ensure all the beachgoers got going safely. She'd already subtley indicated the person she'd mentioned. He was too pale for the beach (worse than Ever ~ Bix level pale) and had an awkward shiftiness to him that extended beyond the usual level of scumbag. He'd never once gone near the water and even wore sneakers without once shifting or adjusting for the sand in his shoes. As the last family drifted away, pulling a wagon of sand toys and two sleeping toddlers, their target headed to the showers instead of the resort. Cee nodded to her companions and when he disappeared inside, she slowly pursued. Cee held a finger to her lips before craning her head around the doorway. In front of the mirror, the man removed his ********." She'd given them away.

The thing turned, a low shrill sound coming from it's gaping mouth. "s**t. JIGS UP BITCHES." The petite brunette had summoned Snap on instinct. The weapons encompassing aura urging her to take it, kill it, slow and silent, compress and crush. Cee went with the instinct, adrenaline surging and reminding her of the Sahara. It had been satisfying to wail on the horseman. "KILL IT!" But as fast as the thought came, she connected it further. "WAIT. NO! AHHH!" It came at her with clawing bone like fingers, she hopped back. "Catch it!! Like the Sahara?" She cast a knowing glance at Paige. "Life loves this s**t! Ever followed -- and then froze -- his mouth open, a bit uneasy -- "Jesus Christ." But Cee's belted order, at least, would kick him back into motion, Amory coming to hand. For a moment, the shape was a bit uncomfortable, definitely unfamiliar. Then the new habits clicked into focus and he stepped forward to attack. As he swung, he remembered the words about capture, remembered his own Sahara experience. He pulled the blow. maybe he pulled a little too much. "...s**t." HP: 47/50 Charge: 1/3 DMG: 1 Boss HP: 39/40

Paige was pretty useless once the thing removed its face. She kind of froze in her tracks, all of the color gone from her face as she watched it morph into something so terrifyingly awful that it seemed like something straight out of her nightmares. Was this what the thing that had pretended to be her looked like? A cold sweat beaded on her brow, and it wasn't until the thing attempted an escape that Paige actually moved, immediately summoning Harle so that she could block it from leaving. No, this thing would hopefully die and die very, very painfully because it had been something just like this that had ******** up her entire life - and while it hadn't been a glamorous existence, Paige had been pretty ******** happy. "No so ******** fast," Paige snarled, shoving it back with the deadly end of her weapon.

With the full team now crowding into the bathroom, the monster had no way to escape. It would die or be be taken. Cee lashed with both whips in an attempt to bind it's arms but the quarters were close and she couldn't escape it's desperate attacks. She should have expected it from something they backed into a corner but she suddenly only thinking of how good her promo would look if she brought back a live specimen. This time, at least, Ever didn't hold back, didn't pull the blow. Instead he put his full strength behind it, first smacking the creature across the back of its knees with the sheath and following up with a sharp thrust of the blade. It was, potentially, one of the tidiest maneuvers he'd ever done. Fighting was just better with the second half of his weapon, with the defense -- He shot Cee a look, brief. "...just say, if you want us to lay off, or what." HP: 44/50 Charge: 2/3 DMG: 12 Boss HP: 20/40

Paige wielded Harle like it was an extension of her body; weapon and trainee worked together pretty ******** seamlessly. When Paige swung the morning star around, she wanted to hurt the ******** thing that had work the face of another, if only because by doing so she could exact a little vengeance on the s**t that had upended her own life. Harle flashed red, red, red - dark and ugly and angry. The blow was glancing, but the connection felt really, really good. HP: 37 DMG: 4 CHG: 1/3 Boss HP: 16/40

The quarters were tight -- so Ever swung again, ducked and shifted, but ended up smashing his weapon into one of the showers instead, and yelping as that resulted in a sudden rush of water, struggling to dodge. "s**t, er, move a bit, maybe..." He was wet, again, fumbling to get out of the spray of water and attack the monster again, instead. HP: 41/50 Charge: 2/3 DMG: 0 Boss HP: 13/40
