Arioso glanced around the wood, flicking his tail happily as he waited for the woods Guardian to make up her mind with regards to how much she would be teaching him. Maybe he was also reflexively checking to make sure no Skinwalkers were sneaking up on him... But that was neither here nor there, right?

It's just good to be aware of one's surroundings... His father had always said so.

He was rather sure that he'd surprised her by his talk of his father and learning the ways of war. Last he heard, it wasn't exactly a common thing for the healers to be war-trained. Of course, having dangerous relatives certainly gave more of a reason for such training... But besides that his family was from another land, perhaps what was why they were so different.

Not as different as the Lady Djose, but different enough. Then again, the expression on her face was thoughtful, and somewhat calculating... Perhaps she wasn't even considering him, but thinking of someone else entirely. He didn't know who that might be, but it seemed rude to ask.

"Skinwalkers bad, all the time." He repeated dutifully, nodding to show he understood. "But... If the pure one is more dangerous, does that mean even Kalona, or the other type of Skinwalkers are afraid of them?"

He couldn't help but focus on her feet when she spoke of how the pure Walkers would have paws or claws, wondering about the lethal talons of a hunting bird and how they would look if they were large enough to hunt him. Lady Djose's paws were large and sharp-clawed, and certainly fierce enough in his mind. He certainly didn't want a close up look at the scary talons Walkers might also have.

"Paws and Claws, Pure Walkers." He agreed dutifully. "So, the clawed ones like birds.. Do they build nests? Are there Walkers that live in the water, or by the water? Like the water lizards or the alligators? Are there scary snake ones that might dwell in deep holes or caves?"

He tried not to ask her a million questions about the Walkers, but some of them slipped out without him meaning to. He understood that he had to keep away from them, but in that regard knowing more about them would make it easier to avoid them. Right?

Either way, it seemed like the Guardian had a lot to teach him.
