Adrienne was about to question him as to his meaning, warning? but the two mares were upon them quicker than she could ask and instead she just smiled with her bowed greeting.
"Likewise, and please, don't worry, you're obviously busy with necessary tasks." she managed to say before the older mare spoke, her tone definately no nonsense and to the point. She listened carefully, feeling that this was another test, not something that Lutra had done on purpose, but one that being a part of this herd, no, being a part of his life would throw at her. He was the leader. And in her heart, she knew that she wanted to be by his side. That would require a greater responsibility than she had know her entire life but she wouldn't let him down.
But she was unsure. Was it her place to speak now? She returned Lutra's look and if he took a moment, he would likely have seen the vaguely panicked expression she had before turning back to the mares, that she could now see were obviously hoofweary and tired.
".." her voice stuck in her throat the first time she attempted to talk and she gave a small cough to clear it.
"I'm not sure how much weight my words will hold, I'm new and finding my hooves. You have both seen in person the aftermath and the effect of the fires and what needs to be done, and it is obvious to even myself, more has to happen to encourage the herds to stay the course and see the rescue effort through to the end. We can discuss further where teams need to be sent, what special provisions are needed and which herds need to be contacted..but I would say first that both of you probably need some rest...so I'll. Stop talking." she added, with a half smile.
Well then, that was, well she was probably out of the herd now, she wasn't sure she had meant to say so much, and for a while she even felt she sounded like she knew what she was doing but she'd floundered her way through the whole thing, saying what she felt was right.
