Johan's deep, ocean blue eyes went wide as the man spat out a rather mixed message about Yrre being his responsibility but in the same breath saying he'd near kill him for hanging out with them. As if this family was the bad one he thought to himself, starting after the drunken Firani, his steps quickening when Yrre cried out... but before he could get anywhere close it was just as he'd expected when the earth seemed to start to shake under his feet, "Damn it all... I was trying to avoid this." He muttered to himself turning toward the door to see a none to pleased Kara standing there... and then jerked his head around when he both felt and heard the earth starting to move.
A thick wall seemed to tear itself upwards from where Kara was standing, passed Johan, around Baecere, and then back again leaving them all within the makeshift cage. The Peisio gave a slight wince as his cousin started passed him, grabbing at him, "Karayan! Be careful, you're only going to make this worse!" He said, only to get shoved to the side as the big Gaili went stalking passed him, toward were the other two were. Turning his head he heard the sound of murmuring voices. It seemed as though the spell that Karayan had drawn attention, not to mention that scream from earlier. He saw a few members of the family gathering, all of them looking a bit startled and confused by what was going on. He hoped at first that they would get lucky, that it would just be a few on lookers, but that was when he saw his Gram, "Uh oh..." Yeah, things were going to get messy he thought to himself, lifting a hand to rub it against his temples.
Karayan didn't seem to notice the others behind him, no, the only thing on his mind at the moment was the fact that the very person that he had so wanted to punch had appeared. Not only had he appeared but he actually dared to hurt Yrre on their property? Now Yrre couldn't say that it wasn't his business, that Firani b*****d had made it his business, and he meant to put at end to this. Dragging forth some rocky earth from the ground under his feet Karayan wrapped it around his fists into gauntlets as he approached, stopping only once he'd reached Baecere and Yrre, his golden eyes narrowed with his anger, "You are not welcome here." He spat out, clenching one rock encased hand into a fist, "You have one chance to step away from him and haul your sorry a** off my lawn."

When the ground began to rumble beneath his hands, Yrre knew that everything was going to be alright. Because who else but his friend, his Karayan would cause such a ruckus coming outside? Maybe that big uncle of his, but that was neither here nor there. Around him and his brother sprang the walls and it almost seemed like they would blot out the stars, shrouding them in darkness with only a few torches illuminating them.
"Karayan!" Yrre cried out to him, wanting so badly to return to him, to go and hide against him and cry because he was so very sorry for bringing this on, and he rose to his feet, despite bruised knees and scraped legs. Before he could move any further, however, a hot, angry hand came round to grip his horn, yanking him back to the side of his brother, who's hands began to heat up hotter and hotter that it nearly felt like he was on fire.
"OI! Do you really think you have.. You have any right to tell me what to do with my own Kin?! You best be stepping off boy. I don't want to be in this little richman's shithole anyhow. But this kid is mine and he's comin' back home with me! Now get the hell out of my way, you dirty mudslug!" Baecere didn't bother to straighten himself out, or to think about how much pain he was causing Yrre as he still gripped his horn and yanked him further away from the house. The boy was all but dragged behind him, as he struggled to break free from the heat that crept closer and closer to his scalp, threatening to scorch his skin.

"He isn't yours, if you was you would actually take care of him!" Karayan snapped, making a couple motions with his hands, dragging some more earth up, twisting it around the Firani's feet, "Let him go or I swear by Abronaxus's horns I will crush your feet!" He didn't want to, not really, but it was the best threat that he could think of. He could only hope that the guy would just back down. Given the insults that he was slinging around, both toward Karayan as well as his family, he half doubted that it would be as easy as all of that. Teeth gritting when he saw the manner in which the man's hand seemed to be heating up, something that made him hiss, "Stop that! You're going to hurt him! Damn it I said..." Karayan's voice died out when a wave of water seemed to splashed down upon the three of them, soaking them to the skin.
Blinking a couple times he turned, glancing over at his cousin, "Johan...?" He murmured, starring at him a moment before jerking his head to the side, eyes going wide when he realized what it was that his cousin had done. He had cooled the Firani off, made it so that he wouldn't risk cooking Yrre where he had hold of him. Giving a nod he murmured, "Ah, I see." Before he went charging at the other two, reaching out to grab hold of Bae by one of his horns, his rock encased hand tightening, before giving him a bit of a shake, "Not very fun, is it? So how about you stop tugging him around like that. This is your last chance, let Yrre go!" He wanted to ask Yrre if he was alright, if he was hurt, but he couldn't, not yet, not until he was able to break Yrre and his brother apart. Only when the Firani no longer had hold of Yrre would he be able to check on the little one. He couldn't do that yet though, if he focused too much on Yrre the man might very well hurt Yrre in retaliation.
Johan winced a little, reminding himself never to rile up Karayan who was normally rather amiable, to the point of being stupidly nice. Now he just seemed to be in quite a mood, attacking the drunk in a manner that was so unlike him. Turning he opened his mouth to call out to Gram, before blinking a couple times, "Gram?" The woman was standing right next to him. It seemed as though she was watching for the moment, getting a feel for what was going on, but wasn't going to step in quite yet. Things were too precarious and anymore people getting involved might cause it all to boil over.
Turning back Johan sighed, wanting to call out to Karayan, or even the drunk, to get them to stop fighting... at least until Yrre was out of the way. After that he would be all for Kara giving the guy a good punch to the head, maybe it would knock some sense into the guy.

The heat on his horns was sweltering, his scalp began to tingle and ache just as if he had stuck his head too close to the oven. He wasn't sure, but he swore he could smell the pieces of fabric he had tied to them beginning to burn. His eyes watered and he almost called out for Karayan again before he was thoroughly soaked. It took a moment to register what happened, but the shock of it all allowed him tear away from Baecere.
In those moments, the Firani dovaa growled at the larger fighter, the water only partially clearing his mind, especially since being soaked meant it would take longer to heat himself up again to the point where he could burn. He still scrambled back to his feet again.
"Karayan, please!! Don't hurt him!" Even after all of this, Yrre just couldn't bare to see his brother hurt like this, and it almost terrified him to see Karayan like this, angry, and threatening to actually hurt someone. And then his arm came up to grab Baecere. There was no stopping him, Yrre ran back to them both, grabbing Karayan's arm and tugging at it. "Let him go, Karayan! Let him go!"
"GAH!" Instead of giving into the threats that the Gaili was making, Bae began to thrash about, and his hand came out, striking Yrre away from the pair. He didn't care about the brat! He didn't care about any of them! But someone was going to pay for this, and Yrre's hide would be raw for life if he had any say about it!
Yrre stumbled back from the strike, grasping at the bruised collarbone he'd surely have in the morning. It hurt so badly, knocking the wind right out of him. But he was used to this after all. Atleast now he was out of the way, and Baecere began to steam up again, the heat returning to his hands to try to find a nice patch of bare skin to burn Karayan on.

Dragging back a fist Karayan was about to bury his fist into the Firani's face... when he heard Yrre screaming at him not to hurt the guy. He found himself hesitating, turning to glance toward his little friend who was defending the man that had been hurting him. Why...? Why was he defending the b*****d? Even demanding that Kara let him go? Didn't he know that the guy wasn't worth it? Didn't he know that going anywhere with him was dangerous? The guy was willing to hurt Yrre in front of others so he could only imagine what he'd do when they were alone. Kara's entire body was shaking with anger but he forced himself to calm down, to try to listen. He had to just let the guy go... and then he could try to talk Yrre into staying, right? It would be better then letting him leave with the man who was obviously to the point of being stupidly drunk.
That was the plan at least until the guy knocked Yrre aside, hurting him yet again despite Yrre trying to save his worthless hide. Giving a growl deep in his throat Karayan turned around, drew back his fist once more, and buried it in the man's midsection, "Cowardly b*****d! I should just bury you up to your neck!" He spat out, hitting him again before making a motion with his hands, dragging the earth up to encase the man's legs as well. There was a part of him that just wanted to encase him completely before he dragged him down into the ground.. but he couldn't find it in himself to do so. He wanted to punish the guy but he couldn't just kill him. He wasn't a dragon, he wasn't of the Mara, he was a Dovaa just as Kara was, as such he couldn't do what he'd do were it any other opponent.
Reaching out he grabbed hold of the Firani's hot hands with his rock encased hands, using the earth to protect him from the heat for at least the moment before he set to squeezing the man's hands in his, "You really should have left while you had the chance."

It only took one punch from Karayan for Bae to realize that picking a fight with this man was a terrible idea. The other was only used for reinforcement for that idea and for a split second, he lost it all, going into a state of blankness that came from his drunken state. When he regained it, he found himself encased in stone, and unable to move properly. His heat had drained out of him, and all focus went towards tilting forward, heaving up any remains of the alcohol and food that his stomach had to offer. Yrre could not help but feel almost terrified at the way Karayan reacted. He grew so fierce at the very aspect of him getting knocked over that maybe.. Maybe he was willing to kill the man he called brother. It was too frightening to watch, and instead he ran over to the only other person here he trusted. In a split second Yrre had his arms around the elder woman Kara called Gram, his eyes pressed against her tightly as he tried to ignore exactly what was going on. His brother wasn't going to be killed in front of him. His best friend wasn't being this violent. Everything in his world wasn't collapsing faster than he could do anything about. Yes, he was just tired. But this woman he clung to was real, and was warm. "Please, Gram, Don't let him hurt anyone! And.. And Don't let Karayan kill Bae either! He's all I have left!"

The older Firani lifted a hand, soothing it against Yrre's hair as the boy came rushing over to cling to her. It was in that moment that she knew that Yrre, as well as his brother, had had enough. Were it just the drunk she'd let Karayan hit him a couple more times for what he dared to do to Yrre who she saw as a guest in her house as well as a member of her family. The boy wasn't able to take it though, calling out to her to fix things, to save her brother from Karayan and to save Karayan from himself. Leaning over to pressed a kiss to the top of his head, "It will be alright." She said, scooping the boy up, handing him over to Johan, before she started forward toward the mess before her. "Karayan, that is enough." She said in a very firm tone, the sort that was honed by years of child rearing, the sort that had the big Gaili halting almost instantly. She walked up to him, lifting a hand to rest it against his shoulder, giving it a squeeze before she said, "He's had enough. Just look at him, Karayan, he's no longer a threat, he's just a drunk that needs to sleep it off." She told him, wrapping her arms around one of Kara's, drawing him back a couple of steps. She looked up at him and said, "How about you take Yrre and Johan inside? I bet that if you asked nicely that Johan will see to Yrre's wounds again." Karayan looked down at his Gram for a moment, blinking a couple times, the anger that shone brightly in his golden eyes seeming to clear as she spoke to him. Just a drunk that needed to sleep it off? A part of him wanted to protest, to tell her that he wasn't so innocent, that he was a monster that had abused Yrre a lot more then just tonight... but the words didn't come. Instead he turned slowly to look over toward Yrre and Johan, starring at the pair for a moment before nodding, "I... ahh... yeah..." Yrre, as well as Karayan himself, were soaked from Johan's earlier 'attack' that had helped in putting out Bae's fires temporarily. Both of them could use dry clothing, maybe a blanket to wrap Yrre in. He started over toward them, his wings giving a bit of a flutter, before he said, "Gram says we should go inside, heal Yrre up, and we should probably get dry clothing." His tone of voice was a bit of a mutter, as though he wasn't sure how he should act around Yrre at the moment. His friend probably hated him now, but he didn't care. That Firani b*****d had deserved it, he deserved more, for what he'd done to Yrre. For the time being though Karayan fell into step behind his cousin who had started toward the house. Behind them he could hear his Gram calling out for Gidal, his uncle and Johan's father, to come out and help to clean up the mess that Karayan had made. Only another Gaili would be able to do so in a seemless manner. He had a moment where he wondered what would become of Yrre's brother... but he figured that his Gram would deal with him in what manner she felt was most fitting. He might ask about it later, but for now he should see to Yrre... if he would let him close. If not he'd just make sure that Johan was able to tend to his wounds. Just knowing that he was healed up would be enough for Karayan at this point. After what he'd done he could ask for no more then that.

Was this how it was when there was someone there when you were scared? All the tension in his body seemed to slip right on away when Gram pet his hair and gave him a little kiss. Though he was passed from arm to arm, that feeling still felt the same. And he was grateful for every second of it. But this wasn't the same as being in Karayan's arms. What he felt when he was held by him was far different than what this was. Johan was so kind to deal with him, even if he didn't want to. Yrre wanted to be back with Karayan, he should have never left in the first place. His eyes followed after Gram when she went to go stop the Gaili, and he felt sick at the condition his brother was in. Covered in his own vomit and the smell wafted all the way over here, though lessened by the amount of water that still dripped from his face. The moment Karayan turned around he felt their eyes meet, then he quickly looked back up at Johan, trying to see how he was reacting, to see if he felt as surprised and anxious as he did. But from this angle, and how his hair was still matted over his eyes, he couldn't see anything, any sort of emotion. So instead he looked back to Karayan and Karayan only. What? Heal him up? But he was.. Oh. Yrre looked at his arms, at his pant legs, and saw the blood seeping out a little bit, the color dulled greatly by the water that drenched them. His clothing was torn in places from the glass, and now that his attention had been brought back to it, it HURT. And he was cold, the autumn breeze made the air seem so much more chilly, or perhaps that was just his clothes. Either way, being dried up and fixed sounded like a fantastic idea. And his brother wasn't going to be hurt anymore, so that was good, right? Yrre quickly calmed himself down, used to having himself in a tizzy one moment then relatively calm the next, bottling up the constantly shifting amounts of anxiety so that he didn't have to worry about it. Why didn't it seem like Karayan could do that as well? He seemed far far more frazzled than Yrre was. Yeah, Yrre had lost it for a moment, but he was okay now, and getting more angry at the pain than anything else, but his friend looked much more uncomfortable than he did. Was he truly so bothered by all of this? "I think that sounds like a great idea. But.. I'd rather you carry me, Karayan. Would that be alright? I mean, I'm not that heavy but surely.. Surely Johan would rather not.. Since he has to do the healing and everything already."

Karayan turned to look over at Yrre, looking rather startled when it seemed as though his small friend wanted to be carried by him. He was almost certain, after his moment of blind anger, that Yrre would want nothing to do with him. Yrre hadn't wanted him to harm his brother but had just been unable to hold himself back, having wanted nothing more then to hit the guy at least one for what he'd done. To have Yrre ask for him even after he'd done had him starring before he stepped forward toward him, "I... if you're sure." He said, reaching out to take Yrre from Johan. The moment that he had the younger Dovaa in his arms he hugged him tightly, burying his face against Yrre's hair, "Are you alright? Does it hurt?" He asked, sounding as though he were quite worried about his little friend, lifting his head he looked to his cousin, "You will be able to help him, right?" Johan gave a sighing sound, then rolled his eyes, "Of course, his wounds are so bad that they would be difficult for me to deal with." He told his cousin as he fretted over his little friend. Now that the drama seemed to be over Johan wanted nothing more then to get the healing session over with so he could find somewhere calm to settle down. The three of them headed into the house, with Johan pausing for a moment to talk quietly with an older Dovaa woman, explaining to her what had happened and where the three of them would be. The woman glanced toward Kara and the one he was carrying, nodded her head, then went hurrying off. Once she was on her way Johan turned back to the other two and said, "Mom is going to go and get a bath ready for Yrre as well as find him something dry to wear." He explained before heading inside the house, leading the way to an empty room so that they could tend to Yrre. Turning to him he said, "Alright, we need to look at your wounds.... so that means putting him down, Kara. You can't keep clinging to him if you want me to help." He said, crossing his arms over his chest, waiting for his cousin to put the smaller Dovaa down, something that Karayan seemed reluctant to do. It took quite a long while before he finally nodded, kneeling down to set him down on his feet, looking him over again, "Don't worry, Johan will take care of you." He said, glad that Yrre knew his cousin and knew that he was good at his job.

There was nothing really different about being in Karayan's arms. Maybe the embrace was a little more gentle, but tighter at the same time, but it was still Karayan, "I'm fine, Kara, really I am. It hurts.. And I think I have glass still in my legs, but I'm fine, don't worry so much, okay? And... Um... Thank you.. Thank you for not hurting him too badly.. And thank you for coming to save me. I love you too.." It felt weird and gross and so so right to say those words out right to Karayan. They rolled off his tongue so gently and naturally that even with his chilled being he blushed and pushed his cheek into Karayan's shoulder. Johan's annoyance was ignored, but the mention of a bath and warm clothes were acknowledged with a little nod. If he kept saying thank you he'd run out before the morning came. He could say it over and over again but it would still feel like it needed to be said. Personally, he didn't want Karayan to put him down either, but he knew the glass needed to come out, and his wounds tended too.. "Come on, Karayan, it's okay. I'm not worried, I'm not scared anymore. I know I'm safe here now, okay..? Thank you, Johan.. I.. I wish I could pay you back, I really wish I could. I must be such a bother.. But Thank you , nonetheless."

Johan stood back, waiting for Karayan to stop cooing over Yrre, and once it happened and Yrre turned to him he gave the boy a smile, "Alright, now... I heard what you said about your wounds, that you have glass in your legs? That means we are going to have to deal with that first." He walked over to sit down on the couch in the sitting room, motioning to the wooden coffee table before him, "You sit here and we will see to your legs, alright?" The fact that the boy was being so strong despite the fact that he had glass actually in his legs, it was impressive. Once he'd sat down he said, "Karayan, if you could fetch me a pitcher of water? After that I will show you what we need to do."
After nodding Kara said, "Alright, I will grab the water. Yrre, you stay with Johan and don't strain yourself, alright?" He gave the boy's blond hair a little ruffle before he turned on his heel and rushed off as quickly as his feet would carry him. He had to get the water fast so that Johan could get to healing Yrre. What his cousin had said though had him wondering, he made it seem as though both of them were going to tend to his legs. Was he sure? Johan was the healer so why did he need Kara? A curious question but he felt that he would figure it out soon enough.
"He can be a bit of an idiot at time but he's not too bad a guy." Johan said, looking in the direction Karayan had gone before turning to look at Yrre, "I'm glad you could forgive him, he'd probably be lost without you, a bit like a puppy without it's master. A big, dumb puppy, but a puppy nevertheless." He gave a soft chuckle before turned to look back at the door when his cousin came bursting in with a pitcher of water in his hands, "Speaking of dumb puppies, here he is." Giving a motion of his hand Johan said to his cousin, "Set it on the table then come sit next to me."

"Alright. It doesn't hurt too badly. I've cut my self up before like this, working in the kitchen. Though I suppose having a more trained healier do this is far less painful than having to use a knife to get the pieces out." He had a few times before found himself with pieces of glass embedded within his skin. Plates, glasses, saucers, he had broken them all before, so this wasn't terribly new. If Johan wasn't here, he'd have just gotten a knife and began to pry the pieces out himself. At the Peisio's suggestion he sat down and remained still, watching Karayan quickly disappear around the corner. Ah, so.. It was more of a ruse than actually needed Karayan's help. A ruse to talk to him. "I don't think I could hate him.. He only did what he needed to do to protect me, and it seems like he always does that. But I can't really understand the part about being a puppy.. I never found myself that important to anyone.. And it feels very very strange. I've tried to never depend on anyone, and I never really saw myself as someone significant but... Karayan just.. He makes me mad at myself for thinking like that. Okay, maybe I can understand the puppy part, but why for me, I don't know." He hushed up as Karayan came back and gave him a little smile. "Hi.."

Johan wrinkled his nose ever so slightly when he was told that the boy would normally just get a knife and use that to get the pieces out of his legs, "Ahh... yeah, we are going to be going about getting the bits out of your leg with a knife, of this I can assure you." He supposed if the boy had to result to things like that it made sense why Karayan wanted to deck Yrre's brother, the guy seemed pretty well worthless to him. Johan wasn't the biggest fan of a lot of people but it was saying something when he and Karayan actually agreed on something given that Kara was a big, dumb animal most of the time.
As Yrre explained what he thought about Kara the Peisio did his best to keep from gagging, finding all the sugary sweet emotions to be a bit too much for him. He'd do his best not to react though, not wanting to rile up the kid when he'd already had a difficult enough night, "Alright, now. Let's get ourselves prepared." He said, speaking up when Karayan came to sit next to him. Reaching out he carefully removed a piece of the glass that was barely stuck in Yrre's leg, one of the more shallow cuts the boy had received and showed it to Karayan, "Karayan, do you know how glass is made?"
The Gaili starred for a moment at the glass chip, seeming to be thinking on the answer for a moment, before it clicked, "Oh! Yeah, yeah... I was fighting this Firani in Eowyn once, it blew this huge breath of fire at me and I dragged some sand up as a shield and BAM a wall of glass! It was actually pretty amazing." He said, smiling a bit. That had been quite the battle, one that had ended up with Eowyn getting a nice, glass structure that was probably buried by now, and Karayan had gotten himself a nice Firani Orb for his troubles.
"Ahh... yeah, melting sand would have been a simpler answer." He said, turning back to looking at Yrre and he said, "Given that glass is melted down sand that means it will be easy for you to remove it, making sure to get all of it. That way we can rest assured that Yrre doesn't end up with an infection before I missed a piece. So, get to work. Once you're done removing all the glass bits then I will go in with my water and heal his wounds, got it?"
Karayan's golden eyes got rather wide before he turned to look at Yrre's legs, swallowed hard, then nodded, "I... yeah, alright... I will do my best." He said, lifting his hands to let them hover above Yrre's legs, using his magic to pinpoint where the shards were, were he started to work with them, doing his best to remove them as smoothly and with the least amount of pain as possible. It wasn't something he'd ever done before, not something he could do perfectly since he was so used to working with far bigger pieces of earth, as well as that of a far different consistency, but he meant to do try his hardest to make sure that he removed every last piece of glass for Yrre's sake.

The very thought of having someone essentially magically removing the bits of glass from his legs made Yrre wince and shrink back a little bit. Magic was a bit more steady than hands, he'd like to think, but.. To him, it just seemed like Karayan's power was all raw strength and recklessness! If this was really something that delicate, how the hell was he supposed to trust him to do this. But before he could even begin to protest, Karayan started, maneuvering the shards around and out of his flesh slowly and steadily. Despite the Gaili's careful movements, it still hurt as the edges of the shards scratched and grazed against the already sore cuts that they were in. Yrre was too tired to care too much, plus the chill that still ran so deeply across his skin numbed him enough that though he could still feel the pain, it did not bother him nearly as much as it should. "You're doing a good job, Karayan, it hardly hurts.. Thank you."

The careful, agongizing slow work continued until Karayan had the various shards of glass, all of them different sizes and shapes, floating above one of his hands. He studied them a moment before he turned to the water to rinse them off before crushing them together into a single, harmless marble. Said marble was placed on the table next to Yrre before he turned to his cousin and said, "Alright, now hurry up and heal him! That can't feel good." He said, worry ever present in his tone when it came to Yrre and the wounds that he'd gotten. Johan shook his head, "Your a rather big sap aren't you, Kara?" He said, before he moved to pull the now shredded pant legs of Yrre's pants up and away from his wounds. Once the gloth was no longer in the way he then drew the water out of the pitcher and to his hands, "I think that I would like for us to meet once when I don't have to heal you, Yrre. Promise you will be careful so that next time we can just chat, hm?" He gave him a hint of a smile before he got the water flowing around Yrre's wounded legs. The water set to flowing around his legs in a gentle current, cleaning out the wounds before the magic that was flowing through the water set to healing the wounds that cover Yrre's skin. It was a slow going process since he had to heal the deeper wounds from the inside out, but with time Johan knew that he would be able to get the boy pieced back together. The problem being that even if he was healed up he would still be a bit on the scrawny side. He could tell just looking at is legs that he wasn't exactly waht he would label as healthy. "After this I suggest that you get a bath to warm up and clean up, something comfortable to wear, then get something to eat. Healing takes a lot out of the body and getting healed quickly through magical means still takes its toll." He told him, glancing over at Karayan, "Mother is getting some things ready for him, once we are done here you should carry him to the bathing chambers, got it?" He'd both put Kara to good use as well as keep Yrre from moving around too much. The last thing he wanted was for him to try to walk on his own and end up face planting against the floor. It would be more work for him after all... or at least that was his excuse, not as though he were so nice that it would be for any other reason. Karayan nodded his head rapidly at his cousins words, "Yeah, I can do that." He said, turning to Yrre, "Doesn't a warm bath sound nice? I don't know about you but I am a bit chilly after someone dumped water on us." It was a good thing, he knew that, it had helped clear his head, but it was a shame that Yrre had gotten soaked along with him and that idiot Firani... a thought he shoved aside. That guy would be dealt with, as such he no longer had to worry about him, neither did Yrre.
