Saraf - prentice
Location: Soldier's Tents
Post: 1

Saraf was in a rather good mood, how could he not be? It seemed as though everything was going pretty well at the moment. He was rather eager for the next battle after how well the battle at Neued went, not to mention all that had happened after that particular battle. It just seemed as though things were going really well for their people! He wasn't amongst those that were drinking, willing to wait until they crushed the 'allied army' until he indulged, but he was in no way trying to drag them down in their merriment. Why not be cheerful when all was going so well? It was well earned happiness if you asked him, something that would be doubly good once they smashed through the forces that were gathering for what might be at least the final battle against this particular group. Would they head home? Would they continue onward to further lands? He was rather curious what the next step was after the one they were on but he felt that he shouldn't rush. He wasn't for rushing so long as they didn't sit still too long either, a good balance and he was happy.

Pushing to his feet at what sounded like commotion from the area where the captives were being kept he looked in that direction a moment... then gave a bit of a snort, "What an idiot." He muttered to himself, nose wrinkling slightly as he watched the guy actually tried to ramming himself against his cage. Shaking his head he found himself taking a couple steps forward, wondering perhaps if the guy was mental? Did they really need a crazy child amongst their captives? Of what use would someone like that be? Food for their beasts, maybe? Otherwise he didn't exactly seem the sort that would even make for a good slave. The guy was declaring that he 'wasn't giving up' and that he wouldn't be a slave, but in the long run who but someone with too much time on their hands would want such a feral brat? Most certainly not him.

Of course as the large Shifter was tossed into the area he found himself looking a little more interested, if only because he could be a rather useful servant for Saraf's mother. He would have to do all he could to get that guy for her, certain that he would be able to help her out if he were able to swing it. A lofty goal, but it wasn't as though it was the first one that he'd set for himself.

Senja looked up as a large shifter was tossed into the cage. His build made her think of the strongmen that performed in some of the troupes, performing feats of astonishing strength. Or a guard...one of those guys who drag around the huge shields.... like that big shield, she thought as she saw two Obans staggering off with a single shield held between them. She scooted over towards him, Ete quickly zipping behind her back to stay hidden.

"You okay?" She asked softly, since he'd stayed down after being tossed in maybe he'd been hurt?

BarAmal: post 2
Location: Captured Tents near Sawenah

Having wandered out of one tent BarAmal blinked thinking that light was not his friend at the moment. Giving himself a few moments to adjust he noticed an Alkidike set of markings on a prentice well what seemed to be a wind/ alkidike hybrid of some kind, or a wind girl who simply got herself tattooed. He’d never seen crystals like hers before. He couldn’t see her face either. Shaking his head that was still causing him some pain he moved over toward her under the tree. “Hello.” He meant to sit down in front of her but ended up more plopping down without much control from himself and more from gravity. Taking a breath he drew a knee out in front of him so he could rest an arm on it. “Are you alright or should I try and see if it’s possible to get you to the healer tents in this place?”

User ImageSHALVESTA Post 1
xxxxCaptured Tents
After what felt like forever, the army was on the move - and honestly Shalvesta wasn't prepared for it. She was a soldier now, unofficially, and so was expected on the battlefield - and she was nervous. The young noble hadn't been present for the first battle... most she talked to said it had been a cinch, their beasts crushing the Tendaji savages with ease. But Shalvesta had seen the occassional look of doubt from a soldier around a campfire, and had caught enough conversation to know that at least some of the soldiers had their misgivings.

Oh, they'd win. Of that no Oban she'd talked with seemed to doubt. But whereas some cockily assured her that it would be an easy fight, Shalvesta had come to expect it would be a bloodbath. And now, looking out at the captured, she could see why. There was a passion in them, a rebellious spirit that she shouldn't admire, and yet did. At least three of them struggled against groups of Obans alone - one screaming out curses at them that chilled her. One man, huge in size, had Shalvesta aghast, wondering how in the gods' name he'd been captured in the first place.

Almost gawking at the strange assortment in the pens (pens, like animals - though that sight shouldn't be new to her), Shalvesta looked up and only then realized that, infront of her, was Ichil. She hadn't had much chance to see her since the party where they'd met - not with her new sword lessons eating up much of her time. Instantly, a smile was on her face and she allowed the pleasure at seeing a friend wash away her own doubts. "Ichil." She called, quietly, raising a hand in greeting as she stepped quickly to her side, lips drawn into a bigger smile than was normally seen on the demure woman's face. "I... I didn't expect to see you here." She admitted, blushing at her doubts.

Ethelfleade had the urge to nod at the other, but that would be inconsiderate and just plain stupid since the other couldn't see her anyway. Sitting down in one smooth motion, she sat in fairly close proximity to her. "I recognized you from the last battle and the tournament. I'm Ethelfleade of Zena. I...I have a plan to get us out of here...but I would require your help...and the help of others. There are so many nobles around...and the soldiers guarding us don't seem too experienced...if we...if you could 'help' them with their weapons and manage to bring back any piece of steel we could turn into a blade, we may be able to take a noble or two through the fence. And with a knife at the necks of those higher than the soldiers...they'd be ordered to meet our demands...right?" She sighed. Maybe it was a stupid and foolish plan. But they had to escape and this seemed the most logical way. She had seen a few around who the guards seemed to be even more respectful towards, if they timed it right...maybe they could snag one of them.

"Maybe it's a fools plan. But something needs to be done. That one there...I don't know his name..." Fleade said gesturing slightly, pointlessly, to Rayolun. "But I saw him at the last battle, he's an excellent scout. He could go with you, if he's willing, and maybe help with gathering supplies. And there's a two hybrids and a shifter..." She said meaning Ogbonna and Chalcedony and BarAmal, "Who look really strong and could make sure that we successfully pull of the plan and help get wounded and the pregnant woman out of here...." Fleade was worried that the blind artisan would refuse to help her, then where would her plan go? Sure they could get some one else to procure the supplies, but weapons was what she did for a living, who better to do it?

Naevius had walked around the noble's tents for a little bit before becoming bored and decided to not care about what people said and made her way over to the captured tents. It was kind of interesting to her to see how the captured Tendajians acted. Some, like one they had just brought in, were furious and acted like they were going out of their minds. Others, like the one she and Ichil had brought in, seemed very calm and resigned about it. Granted the one they brought was blind but still. It was a relatively short walk to the pens and she noticed with a soft smile that she saw both Ichil and Shalvesta there. "Oh good..." She thought to herself.

"Ichil, Shalvesta." She said, dipping her head to them in turn as a sign of respect. She did respect these two women after all, they were the closest thing to friends as she had. "It's strange how one land can have so many different looking people" She noted out loud as she looked over all the captured who weren't in the tents.

Elric could only roll his eyes as his sister made another demand of him. He shouldn't be surprised though, it was very like her. She always needed something, always wanted something, never had enough of anything. But Aedelric was her older brother, and actually didn't mind taking care of her, he had been all their lives anyway. Stopping his work, he puts his arm around his sister and steers them out of the tent. "We'll go to the supply tents then and get you some water. Wouldn't want you to dehydrate now would we?" He said a little more dramatically than he probably should have.

"Don't you find it bothersome?" Lerin questioned a nearby soldier as he sat on the ground, staring up at the trees. When he received no answer, he continued on, unabated. "I find it annoying, and I live here. Such an obnoxious amount of trees. It blocks out the beautiful sky..."

"Look, kid. It's your own fault you're here, and I don't have the patience for your bitching. Either shut up or go bother someone else."

Well, wasn't that just pleasant? Lerin sighed softly. When his mother had informed him that they were going to turn themselves over, he hadn't had that much to complain about. The young Shifter wasn't so foolish that he believed he could help out in the brewing battle. He preferred to sit by the sidelines and watch, anyway. But the sidelines were dull and their caretakers rude, and he'd hardly realized how much of his freedom would be taken away until it was already gone. He had no supplies for painting and wasn't permitted to leave and obtain them. Pretty much the entirety of his clan had headed straight for Tale, meaning he knew next to no one here. Practically the only thing he'd been granted was Tandoori.

The bird sat perched in his lap, blinking up at him with wide emerald orbs. He supposed no one had seen fit to take a flightless bird away from a child. Lerin pet the creature's orange feathers with a tiny smile. At least he had that to be thankful for.

Ichil : Prentice > Loyalist [ post 2 ]
Location: Captured tents w/ Naevius & Shalvesta

Ichil grinned broadly as Shalvesta approached and offered her a little half-bow. She was glad to see a friend again, although this time she seemed better-armed than the last. The young woman offered a chuckle and shook her head.

"Well, I'm not exactly supposed to be here," she admitted, "but I don't think I could handle another day nodding and smiling while there's a war on. I'm not sure how everyone just sits around." She touched Shalvesta's arm fondly and then gestured to her sword. "Do you plan to join the fight?"

Someone else arrived at that moment, however, and she turned to see Naevius, now more of a friend than a high noble in her eyes. She offered the same nod of respect and then turned to peer into the cages. There really was a broad array of life there, but then she hadn't known what to expect in the first place. The captives already sitting felt more like pets than people, perhaps because they weren't struggling so strongly against the soldiers. That wasn't right, was it? Then again, she had been told of the more savage races only in passing. It was odd to have so many here.

Sebastien : Prentice > Loyalist [ post 2 ]
Location: Captive tents

He saw her as she emerged from the noble tents and watched her cross by. It wasn't particularly surprising, really. This was not the first time that Naevius had decided to wander the grounds noblewomen weren't particularly meant to wander. He smiled softly to himself and shook his head, rising from his spot to follow. The young man stayed a fair distance away, leaning against a tree with his arms crossed. It wasn't particularly soothing to be by the captives, but he had a job to do. War was not a time for comfort. Should he be noticed, he would simply give a nod and smile. He only barely recognized the two other women with Naevius, but it was clear that at least one was also noble.

Sawenah: Post 2
Location:Captured Tents ---> Under a tree on the far end of camp

Sawenah lifted her head suddenly, then winced at the foolish movement, "I just... came from there actually." she groaned while slowly lowering her head back to her knees but tipping her head slightly to the side to see the male who has come to keep her company, "I was told there was nothing more they could do for me," which was probably true. The gash in her head from her capture had been healed, and the residual pain could probably be relieved, but that would require the use of necessary supplies... And her predicament wasn't life threatening, or even critical just inconvenient and uncomfortable.

"I'll be okay... I think. Just a pretty big knot on my head." She winced while rubbing the spot gently on her head, "So... this is camp huh. Not exactly home away from home," Sawenah grumbled while letting out a small sigh, "How long have you been here?"

Ceyede: Post 1
Location: On the very outskirts of the Oban camp; well hidden.

Perched on a limb high in the Jungle canopy Ceyede looked down over the Oban camp. 'So this is the enemy; the all powerful Oban's...' The army that has taken her land and desecrated it, taken her people and put them into slavery. They looked no more imposing then the other earthlings that inhabited the land.... and yet they have caused so much destruction. Their existence managed to equally disgust and infuriate her. She had told her parents that if they hadn't left home now then they would probably be cut off from the resistance, and they agreed to let her go scout out the camp and report back before they made a decision, but seeing this- She couldn't go home...

Dropping down limb by limb she managed to get to the ground, landing gracefully beside her Radaku, Achlys. scribbling a brief message on a scrap of paper, she tucked the slip away into the pouch strung to the Radaku's side. Grabbing her muzzle gently Ceyed whispered her commands, "Go home; Deliver my message then return to my side. Make haste, stay out of sight, and be safe." when she was sure her familiar had her orders she released her muzzle to get a pant in reply, then the creature turned and disappeared into the jungle.

Her first course of action: Scout the perimeter, get a feel for the camp, soldier count, track patrols... She had to find out where she could infiltrate their camp and how she could free her sisters. with her path set she hooked the bough of a nearby tree and began a patrol of her own.

Dyakida – Alkidike Artisan (Prisoner)
Captured Tents: Waiting
(Does not count towards post count)

Dyakida listened, her antennae twitching up – unintentionally – with interest. ”You want me to... relieve... some of their weapons supplies.” she said with frank thoughtfulness. It was daring, especially since it was steel. Dyakida did not often work with metal, and then it was gold for gilding or designs. Hiding was also difficult when you did not know what could and could not be seen. It will be difficult...” she murmured. She ran over the descriptions of the potential allies in her mind, sparse as they were... A scout, and stronger people.

They can't be too strong if they ended up in here she thought, with a mental shrug. She should say no – she felt she really should. She was not of as much use as Ethelfleade from Zena seemed to think she was.

It was, however, better than sitting aside and waiting for something (or nothing) to happen. And... ”You said there was a pregnant woman in here. With a child inside her, right?” the question was abrupt. She knew enough about earthlings to know that their women carried their children inside of them, like the lotuses of her people did. It sounded like a painful, difficult job – a job for a goddess, in fact, not a mortal. ”I can see what I can do.” she said, without a hint of irony in her voice, ”But I can make no promises.”

Chalcedony - Fortress
Location: Captured Tents, chatting with Senja
Post: 2

Turning his attention to the one that was approaching him he pushed himself up so that he was sitting up, leaning forward to rest his arms in his lap. He gave a glance around before turning to look over at the fellow Shifter who had come to sit with him. Giving a smile he said, "Yeah, I was just getting a feel for some things. There are a lot more prentices here then I thought there might be." His voce was quiet as he explained that, not wanting anyone outside of the fence to over hear such words since they might question the meaning behind his words. What he needed to do was get up, walk around, and get a good feel for all of those who were located in the cages here. If he knew who all was here and what they were capable of he could start planning how they would get out.

Pushing himself up to his feet he offered his hand to Senja, "How are you doing? I know it can be hard enough for a woman in your condition, let alone in conditions such as these." He said in a kind voice, before giving what smile one could muster at a time like this. She would complicate things, that he knew for a fact, but that just meant that he would need to keep her close so that he could look after her and... well, everyone else. Call him crazy but it was why he was here, to try to save those who had been taken by the Oban army. It was a lofty, and foolish sort of goal, but he'd do all he could. The problem being the lack of a weapon and the fact that the various prisoners were so scattered and caught up in their own things.

"Hmm, I wonder if we should do something about that one?" He murmured, half to himself and half to Senja, motioning toward the young boy who was attacking the fence like a riled up Witu. Before he hurt himself or worse drew too much Oban attention to the area which would made escape that much harder.

Nuawahn – Wind Healer (Conscript)
Healing Tent: Making Potions – to captive tents

Nuawahn was making potions. Making potions. Making... He flinched as a familiar voice rent into his headache with it's defiant shouting. He held his head in his hands and waited for the shouting to stop, and for a moment, he thought it had... but then it started again.

Oggie isn't going to give up... he thought, one of those rare, clear thoughts. He put the new finished potion aside and looked up, warily, at his Oban supervisor. ”Um...” he began cautiously, searching the Oban's strange face for any hope through the haze that began to float into his mind, ”Can I go see Oggie now?”

“Can you do what?” the Oban gave Nuawahn a look that made the wind healer cringe.

“I... It sounds like...” it was so hard to think clearly, ”I think theres a fight... with the others... Can I go?” he looked pleadingly up at the man, ”Please?”

“I have no idea what you're asking...” the man rolled his eyes, his big scary red eyes, “Do what you have to, just...” he beckoned a prentice guard over, “Don't leave this one's sight... Stupid tendajian...”

”Oh thank you, yes!” said Nuawahn, moving cautiously towards the door, watching the prentice.

“Well, go watch the little idiot. Shouldn't be hard – he's not all there.” said the supervisor, shrugging.

And, so escorted, Nuawahn headed towards the captive tents...
