"W-what?" She couldn't be serious, could she? "Y-you don't have to pay me! I-it was nothing, r-really. J-just focus on getting better."

Chel nodded slowly. There was no getting better from her condition, but if it made Jason feel better ...
Inside a war waged between asking Jason to leave so she could breathe again, or asking him to stay because she missed the world outside four white walls.
Eventually, curiosity overcame her. "What have you been up to?" she asked, a small cough riding out the end of her sentence.

His concern rose for the sun hunter every moment he watched her. Weather it was lack of care to her hair, or the way her skin seemed to hang from her body. It made his stomach clench in worry.
"O-oh, I've been busy h-helping out around here." He indicated to the room itself. "I'm d-doing more then just c-counting inventory, T-they sometimes let me help tending to injured hunters."

observation
Sleep had been found, at least enough to put his cycle back into a semi-normal state again, and he had forced himself to eat on his break. He looked relatively normal again, long blond hair tied back and green eyes sharp.Time to visit.
Someone else was handling her food this time, so Jack was stuck on the other side of the glass. He supposed that was going to be enough. (Of course it was, he wasn't going to hold her hand through all this like a child.)
He pulled up a chair to the glass and leaned forward, keen to see how she was taking confinement. Not well, he already assumed; the place was an undiscovered setting for a horror flick, and he doubted Chel's micro steps forward had held up for long after he left her.

Sweet Pea
Chel uses Chris as a phone once more. This time Chel has requested for Noemi's presence.
She needs another favor. She doesn't want to see anyone in her sorry state, but she needs to wipe her tracks clean before she leaves.

She weakly pulled her blanket higher up towards her chest. The infirmary was always too cold.
"Wow ... that's awesome man," she commented. She was proud of Jason, that feeling is true. The sensation of admiration she holds for others never disappeared. "You gonna specialize yet?"

Preparation
The day finally comes. They give her the nice lab tech, and that is how she knows. They explain to her slowly that she'll be moved to a quarantine space.
Was it wrong for a small part of her to believe that maybe Jack wouldn't have told?
They bring in a small kit to prepare her. There is a white hospital gown, folded and set on her bed. They bring in two runic bracelets. One is for measuring her vitals. The other they don't tell her the use of.
Then they leave her for a moment to change her clothes. She takes a deep breath.

Garages
She thinks hearts are a lot like garages.
She thinks hearts are like garages because they aren't a house, they are an attachment. They are inseparable, but not particularly necessary. Some houses have them and some don't. They are dusty and unused for the most part. They just exist to drive up the price of a house.
She thinks hearts are like garages because it's where you put things that don't fit in the house. The odd tools and the strange devices that are unsafe for a house. Unsightly for a house. It was where odds and ends went to die.
She thinks hearts are like garages because most tools stored in them never leave. They are filled with objects you insist that you need, but only bring to fruition once or twice every year. It is filled with useful things and nobody uses it unless they really need it.
She thinks hearts are like garages because sometimes it can be a home. Sometimes it can be cleaned out and renovated and made into something beautiful. But this is only really possible with hard work, time and money. It's a luxury, not a right.

Preparation
A lab tech ushers her out of the room. She holds herself as high as she can, but it isn't very high at all. She refuses to let the group look down on her but there are so many eyes.
She cringes when a lab tech bumps the door observes that they have runic torches on their belts. Like she would move out of place.
An industrial metal door is opened after a series of clicking gears set in motion by an inputted code. Her breathing starts to increase. It it becoming real, too real.

Observation
She has been here four days thusfar with no sign of activity.
Seeing Jack jars her, like seeing a ghost. It has been nearly a week since the one time they'd talked. Here she had thought Jack had telepathically gotten her wish to spare her from the torture and excluded himself from the study. Of course, things were never that simple.
Things have been boring. She hasn't been taken since that time earlier. They feed her once a day, and it shows. Her skin hangs loose, her collar bone protruding from her neck. Had the gown, bra and shorts not been in place, ribs would've been seen. Her eyes had deep red circles around them, caused by an amalgam of reasons. One interesting thing is that her hair has since been changed back from blue to pink. It lacks the orange ombre she had, but her hair was too brittle to handle two dyes in one sitting. Her eyes are listless, but still present, always aware. A hunter's eyes never really relaxed. Hers relaxed that one night.
Everything is so dull that even the life techs monitoring her have begun to doodle on their notes, which are blank. One of them is doubting she was possessed at all. They whisper away from the mics that "maybe she was faking it for attention" and "she's just a crazy b***h why do they even care."

Sweet Pea
Noemi rushes into Chelseas room, turning large brown eyes on the woman. "CHEL!" She doesn't launch herself at the woman per se, but gets close it. If she is bothered by the scars, it's not shown on her usual worried face. Maybe it was because time in the infirmary had desensitized her, or because it doesn't change the way Chelsea is perceived by her.
"I meant to come sooner. How are you feeling pink ranger?chiickadee have a lame phone post before bed /cries

Sweet Pea
Chel begins coughing under the impact of Noemi's attack. Her body's too weak to handle such an attack.
Regardless of if Chel is broken or not, she is still weak to physical affection. She pulls Noemi into a hug and pats her head.
She didn't have an answer as to how she is feeling, so she instead asks Noemi a question. "It's okay." The voice is gravelly (though this isn't remarkable, as Chel's voice is naturally low and gravelly). "I have a favor to ask lil chica~"

Observation
He watches her as impassively as ever while on the inside something foul and unknown boils. The pink is back but the scars are accompanied by a sunken, defeated look that seems to have only worsened since he pulled her into the infirmary. The whispers around him are barely registered because their reports are fine but their opinions are about as useful to him as dogshit.
He looks Chel in the eyes unflinchingly. He put her here; he isn't about to shy away from that fact, regardless of how he felt seeing her. She has to be observed until they reach a conclusion about the condition and how to fix her, he doesn't regret that decision one bit; and if they release her before he feels satisfied, then he'll continue watching her on his own. But he wonders yet if Chel has turned any of that lingering emotion she thinks is love (which he still scoffs uneasily at) into something more appropriate for him. Like loathing. Resentment.
He wonders if she's talked to Chris yet.
"I said I'd be here," Jack says. "Hello" doesn't feel appropriate, nor can he think of any joke that isn't tasteless or black humor. "And I always do what I say. So here I am, Craft."
"You need a mic," one of the techs says, giving him a strange look. He shrugs it off and acquires one without so much as a glance.
He turns it on and taps it unnecessarily with a finger. "On? Good. You look better, Craft. I think it's my turn to cook for you," he observes. "Scout's honor, when you get out I'll get you something good."

Observation
She pauses for a moment, brain attempting to catch up to the situation. A week has been a lot of time to think. She's talked with Chris for longer than it seems she has in her entire life. She's found that life continues to revolve even in her absence. She finds that functioning isn't so difficult anymore. But she still has yet to smile.
"I didn't know you could cook," she responds. She's no longer dysfunctional. Now it just comes a bit slower, reactions take a little longer. There is thought occurring in her head that didn't before- a sort of awareness to her surroundings. "Be careful, they might think you're breakin' me out."
A look is given to the life tech, whom she sticks her tongue out at. He is completely immobile. "It's been a real party here."

Observation
Slow is better than non-reactive; sticking out her tongue is a good sign he finds himself latching onto. "Let them think whatever they want. I can use a microwave," he asserts confidently. "And I generally know green stuff goes in a salad. Sometimes I even remember how to order pizza with extra toppings if I concentrate."
