The stallion smiled, glad to see Lemure was willing to put up with food she may not like in order to get his mother's approval. He couldn't see anything that seemed too unappetizing, which was a good sign. At least it meant his mom wasn't trying to scare Lemure away.

As the rest of the food was sat out the flutter rose from the couch, heading towards the short table. He plopped himself down onto one of the cushions, gesturing for Lemure to take the seat behind him by tapping on the cushion with his a hoof.

"If you like citrus based sauces Ponzu is the way to go." The purple male murmured, reaching for the bottle to pour the liquid into a small saucer. His lips pursed as he watched the fork be pass his mate's way. "I'll teach you how to use chopsticks sometime," he chuckled.

And here his mother came with more embarrassing comments. Of course she wanted to know Lemure's life story and all about their relationship. Mooncake kept his muzzle shut. He wouldn't mind avoiding the conversation altogether if he could.

Paper had a little smile on his face. He seemed pleased with this answer and started to visibly relax more.

Silk slammed her chopsticks to the table, her sea green eyes sparkling. "THAT..IS..SO..ROMANTIC!" She wriggled on her cushion, overcome with delight. "How wonderful! Oh just like in a story! Ahh ahh my son and his girlfriend struck by cupid's arrow as youths and now together." She sighed wistfully. "Tell me more, tell me more!"

Paper hid his laughter under mouthfuls of food.

Despite what looked like put upon looks from her son, Silk pressed for more details about Mooncake and Lemure's relationship, drinking in every detail like a chapters out of a book. The meal was spent talking and exchanging stories, mostly about Mooncake.

As the after dinner tea was served, Silk Kimono deflated a bit, looking tired. "I'm glad my son has met a nice mare who can keep him on his hooves.." she mused as she sipped the tea. "I suppose I can look forward to being a grandmother soon..no one will believe it though. Ahh Silk, you look far too young to be a grandmother they'll say.."

The dinner conversation seemed to go smoothly. A lot better than anticipated.

And then Silk brought up grandchildren. Mooncake seemed really upset about it. Lemure was looking forward to being a mother... she just wasn't quite in a rush to get there. When it happened, it happened. Call her old fashioned, but she wanted her perfect storybook wedding before they had foals.

She snickered a little into her teacup, hoping Mooncake didn't see her. His reaction was kind of adorable. "Well..." she started, "we hadn't really talked about children yet, but I'm sure they'll come eventually. When we're both ready."

If she had her way, they'd be doing the "making babbens" part of it quite frequently. Most likely on the beach at sunset, in a castle, on a mountain under the full moon, and of course in the stockroom of the bookstore. Just not all at the same time.

Lemure had read enough cheesy sex scenes to fuel passionate ideas for a lifetime. But she certainly wasn't gong to tell her future Mother In Law that.

And there Lemure was again with the save. She was so composed, it didn't seem like anything his mother said could phase her. What an angel. How was he so lucky? Clearly whatever gods there were must have blessed him with this great fortune.

Here he was getting lucky again! The attention was now focused on Paper as he made it quite clear he was in a relationship from his embarrassed reaction. As his brother, the flutter already had an idea that his younger sibling might of been seeing someone due to the activity going on at his apartment. Of course, letting his mother find out was a bad idea given how much she loved embarrassing her children with her gossip.

Mooncake chuckled awkwardly, brushing himself off as he looked to Lemure. "Well, the food was good. Thank you mom. Lemure, how about i show you the shop and then walk you home?" He gave a nod towards his sibling and winked. "Good luck."
