"I'm not sure what you find so aggressive about a chitterlings little ball of fluff that barely four inches high." Lex gave a soft amused sound. "Really, maybe you need to man up."
Sunspot grumbled, shaking himself and gave a hiss like noise at the man.

"It ain't that I'm -findin'- 'im aggressive, it's that 'e's -bein'- aggressive! Course I can see 'e ain't no bloody threat t' me, but he just marched offa you over here and started chitterin' at me; 's bad trainin'. What if I'd decided to be a git and just stepped on 'im, eh?"
Clerval laughed. <>

"I'm the one that let him, and if you went to step on him, I'll toss you into a wall. Or he'll shock you a good one. " Lex shrugged. "He's expressing himself cause he's free to express himself in the base."
Sunspot gave a annoyed snort at Clancy and skittered over to the pikachu, and started to climb up him.

"Well why the bloody hell wouldja do that?!" Clancy asked with an exasperated tone- he didn't understand why people just let their pokémon wander around whatever... At least he only had Clerval out because the Pikachu had a useful skill. The threat prompted him to look back to eye Lex up and down; assessing how much danger the grunt could really be, though Clancy remembered how deceptive looks could be sometimes- after all, Aija was tiny and mostly pink, and he was just a little bit convinced he wouldn't win a fight against her. Hm. One eye. Well, hopefully impaired depth perception and a literal blind side if things -were- going to go that way, he noted to himself. "All you people are nuts! They just wander 'bout causing 'eadaches and messes when y' let 'em just wander free."
<<Clerval. Red guy is Clancy. I didn't choose my name and, as far as I know, neither did he. Guess someone just decided it'd be funny to issue me to him.>> The Pikachu explained with a little bit of a sigh in his voice. He did nothing to prevent the Joltik climbing on him. <<Your 'Lex' does seem more tolerable.>>

Lex laughed, warm and rich, grinning at Clancy. "'Cause I don't like my pokemon being little drones. Missions are harsh, and I need them to be able to judge and do things for themselves, without issuing them orders." He snorted, looking Clancy up and down and dismissed him. "Might cause a momentary headache, but they are learning and figuring things out."
Sunspot questioned, settling himself on the Pikachu's head, pleased with the view.

Clancy paused at that as though he hadn't thought of the idea before... That sounded, well, kind of /useful/... Hrm. He shook his head quickly; no, surely they caused more trouble than the activity yielded benefits. "That's what the bloody trainin' rooms are for. Y' go in them, play 'bout, and the pokémon learn whatever y're tryin' to teach the damned things, see? Ain't no need for hall wanderin'..."
He was a little less convinced than before, but he was going to stick to the point; Clancy hated the idea that he might be wrong about that, at least.
<> Clerval asked, puzzled for a moment. He twitched his ears; did he have a malfunction? He didn't think he did... <>

"Pfhh," Lex replied, blowing a raspberry in Clancy direction. He paused and then looked at the Pikachu. "Did you teach him how to check lightbulbs in the training room?"
Sunspot replied. The tiny electric type huffed and shifted so he could meet Clerval eye for eye.

...Damnit. The grunt was sharper than Clancy had been expecting; he certainly hadn't taught the skill in the training room- he'd just handed the Pikachu a lightbulb earlier and told him to focus on lighting it up... "That's b'side the point and it's summat he could flamin' well do without a long training session anyway." The redhead retorted, a little huffily; he didn't like feeling like he was losing an argument.
<> Clerval agreed, fairly happily; he did have a bit of type pride of his own after all. <>

"Pffhs. Who brings lightbulbs to a training session? Or explosives or dead bodies, or stupid damn chatots that sound like Tethyes?" Lex asked, voice grumbling on the last one. Stupid Potato.
Sunspot gave an put out grumble.

Clancy was about to retort that it was Lex's suggestion or something, when suddenly Lex... kept going. The redhead turned to cast a wary eye on the grunt again as he seemed to be making no sense whatsoever now. 'Explosives'? Well, surely that covered some pokémon and sometimes... Demolition division, maybe? Dead bodies?... Er... "Someone 'oo owns a Chatot that sounds like..." Wait, why was he trying to answer the nonsense? He shook his head. "I don't 'ave a bloody clue what you're talkin' 'bout, now, mate..."
<> Clerval had a -suspicion- he'd been 'made'... But he didn't really remember that either. <>

"Ooh, it things I had to deal with during the last mission. Have you been on one of them yet?" Lex asked, mildly, and gave a slight evil grin. "Yeah, if you haven't noticed, Team Rocket picked up a Chatot who can do a very outstanding rendition of Tetheys voice. Scared everyone shitless."
Sunspot idly started to groom the pikachu's fur.

"No I bloody haven't. Did they let trainees go on missions when you were a trainee? And what, or who, the bloody hell is 'Tetheys'?"
<> He twitched his tail as the grooming started; well, that was rather nice.

"There was three trainee's on the mission I went on." Lex snorted and coughed and decided that he really didn't have to tell this trainee anything. "Rude, you could ask politely."
Sunspot chuffed. he grumped and continued raking his legs through the pikachu's short fur.

Clancy shook his head. "Well they don't let us trainees go on the missions now; I checked specially to see if there was any bloody chance to get outta this base f'r a while; none 'nless you're a grunt." He grumbled. He shrugged as he was told he was rude. "Well y' don't have t' tell me. You just goin' on 'bout it as though a 'Tetheys' was summat I ought to know about already..."
<< Still a fish.>> Clerval agreed, then considered his team-mate. <>

"Wait... no, you are right." Lex scratched his curls, flushing slightly. "We were all grunts, well the three of us. It was our first raid and it felt a bit like being a trainee all over again." Ooh yes. "Tetheys is the insane lady in... well possibly still in charge of team Galactic, if there still is a Galactic. Jury sort of out on that one." Sunspot sprawled out on Clerval's fur.
