At the red fae's argument all she did was put her hands on her hips and shake her head. Them were the rules, she said it and now it was so. Besides, the swinging wouldn't a challenge then, and what fun was something without a challenge?
But he didn't press the issue, and she watched up climb up carefully. At first it seemed like this was an impossible task already, the fae freezing. However, all at once his little body swung into motion, and he was swinging like he was born to swing. She scurried up the ladder when he called that it was her turn. But when she got up, she realized it was a lot higher up than she previously thought. "O-okay." Arcenciel started, her hands reaching up to grasp the first bar. She wasn't a scardy cat. Nope. Not trying at all was worse than failing. The angel took a deep breath, and let her feet swing forward from the ladder. As her momentum went up, she reached out with a hand to the next bar and grabbed it. Her other hand then slipped from the previous bar to meet up with her other hand. With all of her weight on her hands, her arms were already starting to burn. How did that little fae doe this?!
With a grunt, she repeated the motion again, and again. She was about halfway through when her hands started slipping. She simply didn't have the upper body strength. "I-I can't hold on!" Arcenciel whined just before her hands slipped completely off. She fluttered her little wings as hard as she could, but they weren't strong enough to stop her descent. However, they did slow it, and her feet landed harmlessly on the ground. "Awwwww! I wost!"

Velvet watched her with a tilted head as she attempted to make her way across the bars. He leaned forward over the ladder with anticipation: was she going to make it? She wasn't able to do it though. Velvet gave a tiny grin for himself and flexed his tiny muscles formed from playing with dough. He jumped off the ladder and ran over to her. "That's ok, you're prolly good at other things." Velvet tried to reassure her, looking around at the playground for something else that might prove her abilities. Most of the things were just for fun, no skill involved though. "You want to go esploring?"

She pouted slightly at the male, but it was mainly for show. She caught that tiny little grin when she fell. Her master plan to get him to cheer up had worked!
And that's why mommy said females ruled the island.
Then the red male proposed something very interesting indeed. A large smile spread on her face from ear to ear. "YEAH! We can be advencha-ers! Who knows what we will find!" She quickly looked around herself before finding a sizable leaf. Then the angel proceeded to rip out just the center to make a hole and hold it up to her eye for a 'magnifying glass'. "Maybe we'll find pie-rats or gold! You start." It was then that a sudden thought occurred to the girl. She tilted her head to the side.
"Hey, whats ya name?"

"Pie rats?" Velvet repeated, imagining rats that ate pie. "Oh, I think I have seen those... they are scary." Thinking of the rodents he occasionally saw in the shop trying to get into things. Daddy didn't like them much either. "Ok... lets go..." Velvet didn't want to head back to home, so it seemed like a good idea to continue on the path that he had been going when he had found the park. "Oh..." Velvet hadn't thought about introductions, he met tons of nameless pae all the time. "I'm Velvet. Who are you?"
He asked it as he began walking in the direction he wanted to explore, leaving the boundaries of the park. He paused for a moment to look at the strange leaf contraption she had brought with her. The boy didn't catch the reference, but shrugged his shoulders.

She nodded in complete agreement at the pie-rats being scary. Her mother liked to get stories from the library, so her little head was filled with fairy tales. "Vel....vel-vet. I like it! Lots a vvvvvv's!" His name was fun to say. Vel-vet, Vel-vet, Vel-vet. She chimed in her head, giggling to herself as she followed along. She turned though one last time to wave to her napping mother. Silly mommy! Why was she so sleepy?
"Oh, my names Ack...Arrr in..." Her little face crumpled into a frown. Typically her mother just introduced her herself. Why'd her mommy name her something so hard anyway? "Okay. I can do dis. Arrrrc...in. Seew." That didn't come out right at all! "Yanno...Call me Seawie. Or you can make up a name for me!"

The boy tilted his head in confusion, did she not know her name? She seemed to be having a lot of trouble with it. "Seawie?" event hat she didn't seem so certain of. He giggled, "Maybe I'll make up a name for you." He'd have to think of something that was fitting for her. Velvet couldn't think of any good name at the moment, but he was certain it would come to him later. As they continued to walk, Velvet looked at the different store fronts, he had never been on this side of town before. Otherwise he would have known about the awesome playground. "Have you been here before?" he asked.

Now that he said it, Seawie just sounded plain ridiculous. Her name was beautiful! Maybe he'd make up a good nickname for her though by the time the day was done. "Good!" The female giggled along with the red male. She'd always thought males were icky, but for a boy he wasn't all that bad.
At the mention of knowing the area, the female happily nodded. "Uh-huh! Mommy 'n' go here ALL the time!" She looked around thoughtfully at the different buildings before pointing to one to the right. "That's a hat lady. Lots 'n' lots of hats. Fuzzy ones even!" Her pointed finger swung to the left to point at another building. "Oh! Thatsa flowah place. Nice man there always smiles n says I'm as pretty asa poppy....I don't know what a poppy is though." She spoke with a small shrug. But they were supposed to be exploring, and exploring was no fun if she already knew where things were. "Hmmm...I havn't been down dare though!" She spoke as she pointed towards a rather dark alleyway.

Velvet peered down the way she pointed, it certainly didn't look as fluffy as hats and flowers. In fact, it looked kind of dark and scary. However, the little boy was not about to admit that, especially to a girl. He discretely gulped before shouting, "Yeah, it looks fun down there!" He might have been compensating for his fear just a little bit. Velvet boldly led the way towards the dark alley, but stopped just before entering the shadowy part. "Lady first." He said with a smile, acting all gentleman-like. Really... he just wanted to hide behind her. It had been her idea anyways.

Really? He thought it looked fun?
She wasn't REALLY serious about going down there, but now he was excited. Uh oh. The female flashed a smile and marched with him towards the alley, but her eyes flicked to the side when he wasn't watching to see if any adult would stop them. No such luck. "Oh! Sure! I'ma brave advencha-er after all." She took out her leaf and held it to her eye like she was inspecting the place.
After determining that it looked rather clear, she started inward, quietly creeping past the various boxes, garbage cans and other tossed away items. "It's likea cave. Maybe we'll find treasher." That thought calmed her a little.

"Yeah... me too!" Velvet agreed. He had rarely adventured outside of the kitchen in his entire life. Saying he was an adventurer... or brave... was a huge lie. It had sounded like the right thing to say at the time though. "Yeah... just like a cave. Probably plenty of treasure in these..." trashcans? No, he doubted there was any treasure in those. It was stinky down here too! Velvet heard a rustling sound come from one of the boxes next to him. It had startled him so much he had jumped to the side, running into one of the trashcans. That of course caused a bigger commotion, and Velvet jumped away from that as well, now clinging to his brave friend.

She kept her eyes peeled wide for anything that might suddenly pop out on them, her body tense. So when the box rustled, and consequently the trashcan falling over, Arcenciel jumped practically a foot into the air with a squeak. She whirled around to face what ever caused her friend such a fright. "Whose dere?!" She bellowed rather braver than she felt. The angel scooped up a chunk of wood near her feet, presumably a broken chair or table leg. "Come on and...and show yourself!"
Whether or not she'd actually hit what ever was in those boxes, was a complete toss up. But at least it was something.

Velvet's brave act was long over as he hid behind the girl wielding the stick. Did they really want to encourage this thing to show itself. As a rat squeaked out of the box, Velvet clung even tighter to the girl. "Oh my goodness! It's a pie-rat!!!" Velvet shouted in absolute terror. Though the rat was just as terrified and scurried back into the safe hiding spot in the back. Two feet into the alleyway and Velvet was already ready to make a u-turn!

It was a tense moment as she waited for the creature to come out, her eyes all but burning holes in the boxes. When it finally showed itself, the little girl almost laughed. Velvet was just pretending! It was obvious when he called that rat a pie-rate. What an imagination. "We scared it off! It's treasher gots to be close."

Velvet started at the girl in wide-eyed fascination as she laughed. Wow... she was much braver than he was. "Yeah..." Velvet agreed, still in a little bit of shock over what just happened. He was hoping she would be ready to leave the alley now... he was ready. The boy wasn't about to admit to his cowardice though, and followed the girls lead. Though he couldn't imagine a stinky pie-rat having very good treasure. "Where should we look?" There was a light look of disgust on his face as he looked around the debris in the alley that was mostly junk and trash.

"Mmmm...need to finda X!" In all her stories, x marked the spot. So obviously the treasure had to be under an X. She walked further in, peaking behind the occasional trashcan. As she got more and more into the alley though, suddenly a low growl sounded. "...Heh...W-was dat you Vel-vet?"
