Eru jumped easily over the log in front of her, if she hurried she would get to the clearing before sundown and she could set up camp in the daylight. She hurried quietly trying not to disturb any animals as she passed their homes.

Camina flinched; the sun had woken her yet again. Even hiding in the shade of a forest and in the shadow of an enormous tree it seemed eternally able to find and torment her, like its goal was to scorch her eyes from their sockets and burn her flesh. She pulled the hood of the traveling cloak down a little farther and re-adjusted the shaded lenses that were protecting her normally acute vision. The sun was setting, that was a good sign, but it would still be some time before she wanted to get up. Rumor had it that new ruins had been discovered to the west, with her chosen line of work she had headed out to investigate. What she had forgotten about was in her home lands she had thousands of hideaways to save her from the light, her only thought now was of how stupid she was to leave the darkness of her home.

Eruraviel smiled as she entered the clearing, she had a half hour to set up. That was record time for her. She usually reached her usual spots after dark and had to use her night vision which made her jumpy. She hurried to set up her small shelter and started a small fire. She would have jerky for dinner tonight. Tomorrow she would either have to go hunting or buy food from the next farm. As the sun set she rolled up in her cloak and closed her eyes. Sleep was her haven from the chaotic world.

*nods hello to the silhouetted wolf when the phone rang softly from inside the house. since usually no one but the doctors or people wanting remedies called she hurried to the house. when she picked up she glaced out the open kitchen window and saw the wolf still there.*
"hello?"
"hello iris. its been a while."
*Iris rinkled her eyebrows still staring at the wolf wondering why the voice was familiar*
"its your mothers cousin, tom, i dont suppose you remember me. you were 10 when last we meet... Any, iris the reason i called is your aunt clair died and seems to have left your mother some money but seeing as to how she's gone also she wrote for you to have it. its not that much but would help settle anything you owe on your house, if you catch my meaning."
*astonished by this news, she remained quiet. the wolf sat down to watch her with what seemed interest. She knew they could hear up to 6 miles away but she wondered if he could here her mothers cousin over the phone.*
"darling you still there"
"yes sir, sorry. its just such a surprise."
"i understand. you need to come down to singleton valley, her house is a bit up in the mountains from there if you would like to pay any last respects. we'r all meeting at the attorney's office to settle things further. trains the easies way but you have till the end of the month."
"thank you sir."
"just look me up if you have any questions, i have to go chase down my kids for dinner now."
"yes sir, thank you''
"no problem"

*the next morning iris awoke as the sun reached her in the hammock. realizing she must get a move on she rushed to call the local doctors to warn of her absance and the (flower) nursery to ask for someone to watch her yard. then ran threw the rest of the house packing only the necessities*

*stepped outside; ajusted her pack,sleeping bag roll, and erhu case, and canteen. flicked the hair pocking out the top of her bun toward the sky for luck.*

good luck my lovelys she called out to her flowers and any animals that normally hung around.

*grabbed a couple of apples off the tree as she headed toward the wood in the south west of her yard*

*iris pulled the canteen from her lips swallowing.the sound of leaves swirling along the ground and rustling in the trees was relaxing even with a little odd rythm. she kept her face straight* and said '' i know your there...,... why are you following me anyway?''

golden strands flecked the sun as the wolf stepped out of the shadowy underbrush on her right.

*iris wrinkled her eyebrows and slowing her pace looked over her shoulder.*

the wolf sat down as she continued to stare at him, letting her look him in the eye- seeing how long she'll last.

* she sighed and conitued on her way* i dont get you.. i mean i cant read you at all and when i think i do you change like lightning fast. ''

the wolf, after letting her get a few feet away, got up with a bit of a grin and continued to follow her, but after the sun started to settle low trotted back off to the shadows with a shared glance and sped up to scout out ahead.
