"You could," it agreed rather pleasantly, "it would require quite a good amount of memories, and a considerably greater amount of power. Would you really really give up your existence to begin mine?"

Otto was shaking. If this was Death, and Otto brought him back... would it restore order? Could he undo the damage done? But was it worth his own life? If he'd been asked this a year ago, he'd have given it without a thought. He thought nothing of his worth. Now? Now he was attached to his life. "I might. I mean... if it was really the right thing to do... Yeah." He answered with a tremble in his voice.

"How about this. I'll let you think however you want on it, and when the time comes, if the time comes and I ask again, you can tell me your decision then. In the meanwhile, you really should, hmmm," it was Sam again, eyeing Otto quite decisively in that sort of openly judgmental way, "you really should enjoy yourself a little more. Time is quite precious."
She held up four fingers. "Is that everything?"

He winced as she held up four fingers. He was already in much too deep. He had no idea how badly ruined he'd end up once he awoke from this nightmare. He sheepishly shook his head. He was past the point where knowledge was worth taking pieces of himself. It had all been a mistake. "Yeah. That's all."

"Good," she replied, satisfied as well. "Four memories then."
Sam curled up one finger. "First, I will take your memory of why the key exists." Three fingers remained. "Next, I will take your memory of why the war exists." Two fingers. "Next, I will take your memory of why the resurrection exists."
A single remaining finger. "And lastly, I will take your memory of why I still exist." It was so much like her, all the bells and whistles always at a price.
It was dark, and when Otto woke up, it would be from a nightmare he couldn't remember. Bittiface Otto retains the knowledge that his "tattoo" has the ability to 'grant a wish' but he cannot remember why/who/ how. That is the only thing he remembers from this encounter, everything else is forgotten. He keeps his memories of his previous encounters/ these are exclusive to this rp!

Maybe Otto should have felt betrayed once more. Maybe he should have been angry that through all his turmoil during their encounter, it would all be for not. That he would wake up, and not know of the terrible future that lay before him.
But he was glad. He was happy to be put back into the fog of ignorance. He gave a small, relieved sigh; heavy with the weight lifted off his mind.
This was fine.

He awoke in discomfort, as he did with most nightmares. He groaned, curling into himself with a grimace as he pulling the cool sheets over his head. A sense of dread made his heart heavy.
He wouldn't know why.
