"Oh haha..." Cee picked up her Bloody Mary again and drained it. "Nothin crazy. I'm like from that area.. like Philly, New York and Jersey. And I dunno..." Her eyes drifted away guiltily. "I guess they were like worried I couldn't keep a low profile?" Why would they ever think that? "But I guess'm in good graces again. I like put in a request ta get reviewed and s**t. I'll be good... with you. I promise." Cee winked.

"Are you?"
Cee became just that more fascinating.
Nora grabbed her wine bottle, uncorked it with a pop, and held it out to tap Cee's glass with a grin. "I'll drink to that! Invite your people, eh, make it a grand old invasion. Goodness knows some of them could use some fresh air now."
(And she could use some friends.)

"Ha! I'll do my best.. I ain't got a ton of people." And maybe she wouldn't mind hanging with Nora alone. She was a stunner. Those freckles. Plus only Ever would know better and be unwilling to hang around for shenanigans. Noemi was a baby. Plus the last time they'd tried to get a group it had gotten to be too much. "Don't be shy.. you bring yer people too!" Cee waved an arm emphatically, "Oh I will plan out all the places to go. Jus' you wait girl it's gonna be HOT."

She hoped her laugh didn't sound too forced. "I'll ask around, yeah." Her current and most stable social circle was limited to Evan and Gale. Abbi who was new and iffy could be asked, or the little pair of budgies maybe. Maybe. Gods, she felt rusty at this: talking a good game while on the job, then rotten everywhere else because it was all fleeting, shallow connections she wasn't guaranteed to keep--just how she used to like them.
"Already is, mate, from where I'm sitting," Nora said with a wink and then swirled and swallowed wine. "You know people, huh? Anything particularly juicy I should be aware of as far as your friends before I meet them?"

Cee laughed and grinned at the compliment, once more bouncing as she shifted just to give a good show if that was necessary. She was actually now absorbed in her phone, scrolling through the limited information the Deus net offered on destination activities and what may be restricted or limited. There was always someplace in big cities like NYC. "Everythin's juicy when I'm involved." Cee smirked, "And I don't kiss n tell. Hones'ly though," her brows lifted, "thers a lotta lamos on this island." She was seriously eating up Nora's accent and had been since she'd met her. Gale's too but he was like a rabbit if she got too close. So Cee scooted closer under the guise of peering into the picnic basket with an unabashed lean. "Could I get a sammich maybe? It'a be my breakfast."

"I think you and I are seeing very different people then. Haven't come across one that wasn't decent. Well," she amended with a snort, "besides the little hoodrat. Leslie, I think. But washing his mouth out with soap ten times might have gotten my message across."
Nora waved her hand vaguely and stretched out again, seemingly oblivious. "Take what you want! There's plenty there, I like making large batches in case I find company. Had all my sweets taken last mission, actually. Next time I'm going to make two dozen, carry it around in a pack or something. A few of these people look terribly underfed." Shaking her head, she took another gulp of wine.

Cee snatched a sandwich and plopped back down next to Nora, now almost encroaching on her blanket space. Because of sandwiches. Yes. "I dun mean they aren't... nice." She took a bite, pausing to chew and then swallow. "But like sometimes you wanna have a drink or do sometin crazy and-" She waved her hand as if to say 'etc' as she took another bite. "OH MY GOD RIGHT." Cee gave her playful slap on the leg. "Have you met Taym? he's like'a undercover skeleton'r somethin. And so many of these skinny a** girls around." Skinny like stick legs and no muscle and fainting on a runway somewhere cause they need to eat an oreo.

Nora simply scooted and shared the space (alright maybe a little touching was allowed), though a corner of her mouth was starting to tug into knowing smile. "Taym, he's...oh! The scarecrow fellow," she recalled. "I did a spar a while back with Cami while he defended so he could practice his Moon stuff. Looked like someone spat in his breakfast all the time."

"Yes! Hahah.. yes basically if yer not talkin about like I dunno... deep emotional feelings in literature, he's kinda a bummer." She did shrug though, "Well he ain't that bad but he def got a tendency to make people around him feel stupid." Perhaps she'd felt it, most likely that she ignored it to instead make him squirm with her own teases. "So..." Cee leaned back on her palms, the sun high she canted her head back and closed her eyes to absorb some rays. "C'mon.. tell me yer life story." She was serious.

"Mm...Very arteest," Nora chuckled before doing another of her little dismissive waves that she had to he careful not to swat Cee's face with. "Not much to say about my life. Born in West Sussex, grew up in West Sussex, figured I'd die there too. Small family, lots of cats, financial issues here and there. Entered the police academy to try and help out. Tangled love life throughout it all," she said airily, like it was a quaint inside joke and nothing more. "Your turn."

Nora's accent was hot. Like super hot. Cee just enjoyed listening, even if she had little investment in the words themselves. "Oh s**t the po-po.. Well I'm a bad girl, miss copper." Her dark head tilted when asked. "I'm from Jersey.. my dad's got some dough so I was pretty comfortable. When I was little they were like 'monsters aren't real' and I got in a buncha trouble in school but... well now I'm here tryin'a focus'at aggression where its splosed ta go." She didn't seem in the least bit repentent for her past violence and almost eager for whatever kinds Deus would bring. "But I'm just a chick who likes fun. All kindsa fun. Even the bad kind." Cee winked though she didn't elaborate. "If this is our dead end, I'm enjoyin it. That's all I'm sayin."

She scoffed goodnaturedly; definitely not the first time she'd heard the "bad boy/girl" comment before, but Cee was cute so she let it slide.
Though Nora did pass the bloody mary another glance. "Enjoyin' it" indeed.
"Joeysee, huh?" she said, trying out the Eastern accent and failing miserably. "I guess it's the same problem no matter where in the world you stand, eh? Good to have you here, though. Think the island would be a little less interesting if this afternoon's got anything to say about you."
She dipped a little of her hat to Cee in salute, then decided that another swig of wine was probably a more appropriate one and did so.
"You miss anyone back home?"

"Oh my gahd.. " When Nora attempted the accent she burst out giggling, gripping the woman's arm as if it would knock her over. She attempted herself to imitate the imitation and only laughed harder. Cee shifted back when Nora asked about home. She got a new cup from her things and poured herself a mix of juice and a clear bottle. She sipped and hissed a second. "Mmm.. just Mama and Papa. My friend'sll be fine without me. I hope some sort of ******** drama erupted from my death..."

"What? What's so funny?" Nora feigned offense, trying to hide her own cackles at Cee's impression. "Joeysee. Joy-zee. Oh ha ha ha, yes, let's make fun because a girl can't copy that obnoxious accent." She swatted at the other woman's hand with an actual laugh.
"Well, I've only known you for a mission and an hour, but I don't believe it'd be a stretch of the mind to think you've made some trouble just leaving. Actually, if I'm perfectly honest, you seem to be the kind that makes trouble regardless of what you do." She grinned and wiggled the bottle reproachfully. "Luckily for you, the cuffs are in my room and I'm too comfy to leave just yet."
