"Just my ears, and only once each." A brush of hands show the stand-by earrings Abbi had placed in the lobes to keep the holes from growing over, a pair of golden crescent moons. "I bet you're totally the fuzzy-handcuff kind, then huh?"
Oh glob.
Had she actually said that out loud?!
It had been meant as something funny, as something off-hand and silly but now the teen flushed a bright shade and wished she could vanish in a poof.

Thankfully the distraction of her own little tattoos was enough for Abbi and she grinned excitedly.
"Um well like... They mean different things for everyone! OK see in the game there are these twins called the Lutece Twins, which is my middle name so I liked them a lot? But they play this game called Heads or Tails, only the main character always rolls heads and they have like this sandwich board with all heads rolls, right?" Abbi was doing a really dreadful job explaining this.
"Then they ask this girl in the game to chose between a Bird and a Cage, and the player gets to pick. Whichever option you chose doesn't matter, it literally has no bearing on the game, but you think it does, right? And everyone thinks Heads is best, so you would think the Bird is best right? But the Cage and Tails is important too!"

Now she's gotten wiggly, her hands clenching excitedly to explain herself.
"So I got them on both my wrists because I want both! I want to chose the good and the bad options, I want all the options that do and don't matter because they're there! You can't have a Heads without a Tails, and a Bird is just as good as a Cage, just for different reasons."
Fangirl, thy name is Abbi.

Since it wasn't often that Abbi had people ask her so many questions about herself, there was honestly no way she could think Paige capable of being an a*****e save for in the instance she were to kick a puppy. And Abbi sincerely doubted that the woman would do anything so heinous.
A flush bloomed on the teen's face, but she only leaned forward to speak a little softer.
"But wouldn't real ones... Hurt? Like leave marks and rub against your skin and stuff?" Maybe the girl with absolutely no experience in being either arrested or dealing with relations that involved handcuffs ought not to speak.

Thankfully all speaking ending when Paige called Abbi 'really ******** cute'.
A series of noises left her, sputtering attempts at denial but the girl finally just ended up laughing at herself and shaking her head. Both hands slapped over her face a moment later before she collected herself.
"I'm a total nerd... I like reading and gaming and I... Go to the library in my downtime." Again she laughed. "There's not always a whole ton of things to do on the Island, so I read random books I find in the library."

"Oh! But I mean... There are lots of fun things to do on the Island. Just a lot of tech stuff is... It doesn't work. But you can get runic stuff... How about you? You super into anything?" Could Abbi slap sparkles all over Paige's face to show how cool she thought she was?

"O-oh." Yes, she was definitely going to stop talking about this now because the amount of 'Hello yes I am totally a virgin' radiating off her was surely off the charts. But it was at least something interesting and new to learn... In fact...
"Hunters typically get a faster healing time the more bonded with their weapon they are... I bet using handcuffs now would be even better!" The urge to say Abbi would one day test it out was strong but even she realized she was being ridiculous.

If Paige was expecting a reaction she certainly got one, though it was more of the excited variety.
"You're in super luck then! There are a ton of mega adorable girls on the Island, I-D-K if they're into girls too but like... I bet some of them are!" The teen tilted back a little to tap against her chin in thought. "There are a lot of cute boys too, actually... A lot of them are taken though." She made her own sad trombone noise because this was a serious loss for her.
A second later she perked up and nodded excitedly.
"Yeah! I know lotsa people on the Island! Most everyone's pretty friendly and at least sorta fun to talk to! Oh oh ooohhh which training courses have you done?" No, she was definitely not going to force Paige into a course with her that would be silly. And exactly her plan.

All the grinning only made Abbi repay it in turn, her own tilted on one side and veering more toward admiration.
"Life is literally the worst. I barely manged the time I made it and I never, ever want to try it again." Somehow she managed to laugh, waving a hand at her new friend. "I think they shot me twice before I managed to finish it!"

But she finds her composure a few minutes later and sits up straighter in her chair.
"If you ever need someone to tag along with you in the others, lemme know ok! I'm like... Not super good, but I'll help as best I can!" Both fists clenched at shoulder lever before the girl burst into laughter. "And if you ever need a study buddy or a cup of sugar or something, I'm your neighbor!"

"Whaaat no you can totally do it! If you want I'll come with you sometime. I beat it once, maybe I can be like I-D-K a lucky charm or something?" The idea of doing a course together sounded fun! Paige was not only an awesome person, but Abbi wagered she was pretty good to have around when the going got rough.

"Definitely! And same goes for you! You need anything at all... I'm right next door! And I'm in my room a lot but if I'm ever not, just leave me a note or something." The girl laughed and hopped up onto her feet.
"Thanks for letting me bother you! I should probably get out of your hair, but I hope we'll meet up again soon! We should do lunch sometime at least!" So maybe lunch wasn't anything special at Deus, that didn't mean it couldn't at least be half enjoyable.
