Finn had gotten a giant bucket of popcorn, and was hardly paying attention to the game at all. If anybody asked him later, he wouldn't have even been able to tell them the score. Nyxtsuki Moon Text to Noemi: Tell him that his shoes are cute. Ask him if they're Calvin Klein

"It happens," Jack said with a shrug, as if to say damn shame right?
He listened to Noemi's explanation, though his eyes always remained firmly on the court as if drinking it in. God, from the corner of his eye she looked remarkably like old Lina, albeit with shorter hair. He could have been a senior in high school again, out on an actual date with an actual girlfriend, barely a thought left to the fact that if he stayed out too late he would be faced with a lecture. Again the nostalgia hit him, harder this time, and Jack had to blink it away before he got too sucked in.
It wasn't quite enough to stop him from cheering from the rest when the Bulls won. He felt the old thrill of being part of a crowd and grinned to himself, in spite of the fact that he knew he ought to be annoyed with himself for not stopping by sooner--much less be there on an unwanted night out with someone else. Ah well.
"Dinner," Jack agreed, giving Noemi the bare minimum number of pity pats without really meaning it. "There's an Italian place by Union Park I'd recommend, it's not that far of a walk and I think it's still open. Come on." He set them at a brisk walk--and given Jack's height, that was a pretty good speed indeed.
Past a few streets, they would eventually reach a homely brick and wood building whose second and third floors looked like they belonged at a country inn. Several of the windows were lined in neon lights, one of which glowed in cursive red wire La Lucé. It didn't appear to be too busy as they arrived, and Jack went ahead and asked for seating.

"Si, this is true. I thought I was the shortest but well, there is others too shorter then me." She nodded.
"Ah....Such a shame, I would thought Irish men would pull out." She made some moves like some of the players, "But the bulls, they were strong opponent, all the swerves and the fakes. And those three pointers..." She made a whoosh sound, "So smooth." If that's how you'd describe it. She took his pity pats with another sad sigh. Maybe next game she would root for a winning team.
"Oh?" She followed after him, stretching her legs and speed walking to keep up with him. "Italian sounds good!" She followed him to the restaurant, her gaze drawing up to the name, and the structure of the building. Once inside, she didn't stop from looking at every single thing. She had been to applebee's and small restaurants like that, but never to something so...authentic like.
She sent a quick text message to Finn to let him know where they were going, before pocketing her phone.
"Is Italian food your favorite?" She asked as they were led away to eat.Seussi Text to Finn: You were right about basketball! He got over it maybe? Text to Finn: We are going to La Luce for dinner, will you be close? Text to Finn:....is there rules for ordering food on dinner?

Shorter than Noemi? At that point God was just making defects. Cases in point: Peyton and Leslie.
Snickering at the "pull out" comment, he shook his head. "Favorite stuff is spicy. But I like noodles and I've been here before, so." Jack shrugged.
After ten minutes or so, the hostess called them over and seated them in a couple's booth by one of the windows and handed them menus and taking their drink orders. Jack stuck to water with lime and began to peruse what was available.
"I will let you choose any appetizer if you want one," he told her. "As well as any main course. No dessert, though. I don't recommend them."
(That was a damn lie, but he didn't want this "date" going any longer than necessary.)

Nyxtsuki Moon Text to Noemi: Not really. Just order whatever you want. Don't forget to ask for their most expensive bottle of champagne, though. Text to Noemi: Don't let him cheap out on desert. I guarantee he'll try to skip it. Text to Noemi: Don't forget the shoe thing. Text to Noemi: Seriously you need to comment on his shoes. Text to Noemi: Calvin Klein, okay?

Noemi snuck another look at her phone. Then she nodded at Jack.
"Instead of a appetizer, do you mind if I can get Champagne?" She pointed to the one that had the highest price tag of $59.99, "I hear..." She tried to play it off like she knew or something, "That italian is good with champagne? Si?" She offered him a smile again, and as the waiter asked for their drinks, ordered it before he could really say no.
That was part one.
"A...Also. Um your shoes-" She nervously fidgetted, "They are very nice? Are they um....C...Calvin...uhm..." She tried to rack the name, "C...Calvin Klein si?"

"Rude. Are you even old enough to drink?" he asked when the waiter was out of earshot, giving Noemi a suspicious look. Having the guts to get alcohol after being 90% meek this whole date didn't go unnoticed. Maybe she was a secret booze hound.
The shoe question, however, just made him even more suspicious. "Bruno Magli," he replied, staring her down. "Why?"

Oh gosh, she rubbed her hands on her shorts and stared at the table wear.
"Champagne is good si? Have always wanted to try, once..." She looked at Jack, "Miss Cee gave me some light vodka." She nodded. She didn't answer about the drinking age because girl was only 18 and that wasn't even legal in Europe yet...ANYWAYSSSSS....
"Ah Bruno...Magli?" She tilted her head under the table and feigned staring at his shoes but mentally wondering if Finn had gotten it wrong. "I'm sorry, I mistook? But they are nice shoes." She nodded and then looked around.
"Do you play basketball Jack?" She veered away from the conversation as fast as she could.

Jack gave her a look. "I'm not letting a minor drink on my dollar." At least not this one and especially not ******** $60 wine what the ********. When the waiter came back, he apologized and changed the order to just water for her as well (as his poor date had forgotten they were on a budget); he got a funny look, but whatever.
He shot Noemi a piercing glare. Don't even think about arguing.
"Yeah, I used to play," he continued, and offered nothing else.

Noemi opened her mouth and then shut it. Then sighed.
"Si, okay. It was too much of me to ask." Damn it Finn, she felt like this was going terribly wrong in all the wrong places. She was not good at this at all.
"I see, Why did you stop?" She took a sip of her water, cocking her head.

Bitches needed to know their place anyway.
"Deus is a great excuse to stop," Jack snarked as he drank his water.
Dear one.
"I didn't see the point towards the end," Jack corrected himself without missing a beat, less sharp but no less sour. "And that's all you need to know about it. My turn: Why did you even agree to this date when we both know Hale's got your eye?"

She fidgeted uncomfortably for a moment, then cocked her head at him.
"You did not do it...for fun? or to relax?" That's what baseball was for her she supposed. An outlet. or something to ease her.
She blinked, then moved again. There was a moment of silence where she didn't want to answer and then she gnawed on her lip.
"This is first date, So I thought I would like to see what one is like." She winced, and was at least smart enough not to mention that this date was the favor paid to Finn for helping her with her moving.
Instead she played with her fork. "Milo does not think of us dating?" She frowned, "Sorry, um. We are good friends. And that is okay."

"Obviously I did it for fun. And because I was good at it. So wait, you thought going on a date with me as your first time was a good idea?" Jack raised his brows in disbelief. "Wow." Finn was probably having a great big laugh about that.
So, what, he was the practice girl tonight? He slightly regretted reneging on the wine now.
He sat back, not seeming to care that he was touching a sensitive topic. "Sorry, but I call bullshit. Did he say that himself or is that what you're telling yourself because you're too scared to nut up?" Jack asked. "Because you two cling to each other to the point of gagging noises from passerby." He didn't honestly care beyond the point that the topic was not about him.

"When did it stop being fun then?" She cocked her head, confused. If he stopped playing, really, it was because it wasn't an activity he enjoyed any longer. And there had to be a reason for it.
She pushed her fork and frowned, "I didn't think that first dates were um..." She shrugged, "Special? I just wanted to see how one went? Are they suppose to be special?" Her eyes widened, "Am I suppose to do something to make this special for you Jack?"
She sat back because he kept diverting the topic to her, and she didn't want it to be on her.
"No he didn't say it, but you can tell." She nodded, "At least that's what I think? I can tell I like him. And what?" She blinked, "Why would anyone gag?" She sighed, "I don't want to tell him, and ruin what we have now? What if he doesn't like me? That...is more scarier to think about then just holding it in."

Jack shot her a look. "After I screwed your mother's brains out," he replied, since she seemed to have forgotten the and that's all you need to know about it part.
Noemi was given a brief reprieve as the waiter came back to take their orders. Jack went straight to entrees and ordered angel hair with spicy tomato, eager to eat noodles that weren't of the ramen variety. He remembered the portions were pretty large, too, so he could expect to take some back to Deus to enjoy tomorrow; his stomach had shrunk during his time in the Sahara.
"You could make it very special by just eating and then leaving me alone," Jack suggested wryly after the waiter had taken her order and left them. For a moment he had a flashback to when his New Years' version had goaded Otto into pursuing Maebe. "Christ. You gain nothing through assumptions, Hurley, you get things done by asking. If you ruin s**t by just asking, you've already got a problem."
He shrugged. "I don't see the issue honestly: he likes you." At least, that's what he had gathered via observation and several missions.
