When the antennae bit into his fingers, he didn't even flinch.
Instead, when they let him go, he looked down to his fingers, watching in childlike fascination as the blood dripped from his fingers down his hands and onto the ground. It kept him distracted for a moment, and another, and another -- before his eyes suddenly snapped back up and he looked at her quite seriously though with no hint of malice.
Her voice was low, the tone tense, and Okeanos let out a chuckle, seemingly amused by her struggle to continue to protest the things that he had said. The reality was still there, "The reality is that Green does care," and for a few seconds, it seemed that he was about to let himself give away a dramatic, sobbing tear of affection --
But that was clearly an exaggerated joke, as he let out a small whoop.
"I'm sure my mellon could find out," that was mildly creepy, "but it is interesting, Green. I was helpful to you in the swamp so you are making sure I am still alive. That implies I am somehow important. Pae can be helpful and not even matter afterwards, yes?"

Served him right for touching her! Perhaps he'd think twice against in the future.
That however, was something severely doubted.
Her features would have softened if she didn't know Okeanos when he seemed to lead into some sort of compassion. In reality though her eyes slightly narrowed in distrust, not falling for his trap. She was right with his sudden whoop. He just wouldn't let the matter drop, would he? Circling around the topic when they both obviously knew what was going on. She wasn't going to say it though. She'd rather have her hand bitten by her antennae then that. "Yes, if they were ungrateful and had no manners or common decency. I like to think I'm more civilized than that." How to get him to give it up? She already tried changing the topic. Multiple times. Yet he seemed like this conversation was positively enthralling enough to stand there, bleeding. "...Did you want to wrap that up?"

Would he give it up? That was a good question. It was true -- she knew what he was getting at and he was obviously aware of the reasons why she was acting the way she was. He was intelligent and she had let a bit of a slip go when she asked if she was special--
"Nah, I'm good."
Unceremoniously, he took his bleeding fingers and sucked on them, draining them of the blood that was dripping before letting them fall to his side. There was a moment of silence, there, where he let what he just did sit in the air like an awkward, heavy fog that didn't know exactly why it had stumbled up the mountain instead of hanging in a valley.
That was before he spoke again.
"If you are civilized, why does Green come to where there is little civilization?"

He was...sucking on his blood. Like a leech. She couldn't help but stare at the male, quite frankly dumbfounded. Just when she thought she got a handle on his oddities, he went and did something like that!
And to think Okeanos was as close to a 'friend' as she had. She needed more friends.
She didn't have anything to say, so it was the naiad to break the silence that had settled with his question. It was an odd one, considering that he no doubt already knew the answer. "If you hadn't noticed already, I don't particularly like being around a lot of pae." Which made the recent family reunion a nightmare for her. She was more of a one on one kind of girl, if she had to be around anyone at all.
It was becoming increasingly awkward, simply standing there talking to the male. She didn't like standing around making small talk. Felt too...normal. Boring. She should just head home now. But as much of a jerk Okeanos was, no matter how annoying, it was still nice to be around a pae who wasn't family. For some reason she wanted to do something with him. I must be as crazy as he. Her emerald eyes fell on his bleeding hand. ...Okay, not AS crazy, but not exactly sane. But he wasn't exactly an easy pae to get along with, and she wasn't sure what she could suggest without him suddenly accusing her of taking a shining to him. Or something he'd agree to actually doing with her. Quite the situation she was in.Seiana_Zi Cressy, your heart is showing ninja

"I hadn't," replied Okeanos, without missing a beat, "considering the only times I've seen you have been with me."
Now he was just being a smartass.
... Then again, when was he not?
While Cressida sat and stewed about what she was going to do about him or with him or whatever, Okeanos didn't seem to be particularly deep in thought or even in thought at all. Instead, he shrugged, moving around her and back to his tree to hang upside down off the branch again.
From this position, he ripped a branch off the side of the tree and tossed it in her direction like he was pinging a pebble against the wall.

Such a jerk! She practically glared at him as she tried to come up with a reason. Then suddenly, branch filled her vision. The emerald demon swiped the branch down to the ground with a snarl, her antennae snapping. "What you do that for?!" How many hours had she spent with the aggravating naiad? Yet they had the same tiresome tirade between them that they had when they first met. She even tried to be nicer than usual!
"You know, you shouldn't throw things if you want any friends." Cressida spoke smartly as she shook the hand that smacked the branch. "As warming as your hospitality has been, I'm going to go." She'd gain more ground getting blood from a stone than continuing in circles here. The female turned to start out with a little wave. "Have fun in your tree or...what ever you do when you're alone."

When she asked him why he did what he did, he simply shrugged. Pae did things. Pae did things without reason. He did things without reason. This was because he was a pae. All pae could be unreasonable.
It seemed that Green finally had enough, and she snarked something about friends, which he laughed about. "You know, for being so grouchy, you are quite the bright green sunshine!" called Okeanos, after her, laughing again as he thought about how she snarked about 'friends' and 'warm hospitality.' Okeanos knew for a fact that nothing he offered was warm, and yet she kept coming to him anyway, over and over like a broken machine.
He waved at her back, before he swung back and forth on the branch a bit like an animal might.
Indeed, whatever he did when he was alone.
