Mirath glanced back to see how the boys were keeping up. A few had faltered at her trick, but others were keeping on regardless. Several of them bespoke her again, so she chatted back to them.
To Ryth she said, Well, there are those who say actions speak louder than words. What do yours tell me? That he was steadfast, for one thing, since he not only didn't flinch, but managed to close the distance some. To the other males she had nothing more to say, so she treated them to a coy croon.
Then she wheeled sharply and dove, plummeting downward and to the right of where she had last been heading. Let's see if the sun-blinded suitors could keep track of her!
Roll your Speed Dice to keep up with her!

Blue Magith
The sun had been only a momentary distraction to the blue, and he watched the crimson carefully. He was expecting some sort of trick, and he wanted to be ready for it.
He wasn't expecting her to turn, but the speedy little blue flipped upside down, and then dove down after her.

Capuleth replied to the crimson's croon with one of his own, striving to close the distance between them. He managed it, he thought, but by only a very little and there was a tiny little blue very close to her now. Eyes whirling brilliant purple Capuleth willed his wings to greater swiftness but he was beginning to fear that it might not be enough to win the day.

[NPC] Brown Ryth 4d20 Speed
Ryth may have gotten lucky with the sun thing and he certainly wasn't expecting the two things that happened after. He halfway thought his words would go unnoticed. The sudden shock caused him to flounder when she suddenly dove. He sighed and changed direction as quick as he could but it wasn't quick enough, at least not as quick as some. "I still have yet to prove myself." He replied but not with as much gusto as he had before.

Lophorinth: 2d20 Strength, 5d20 Speed, 2d20 Toughness
Lophorinth may not have gained anything in climbing but the blue knew where his strengths lay. In wooing women! Well ok. He was pretty quick too when the need arose. Instead of fighting to gain height in the blinding sun, Lophorinth took the opportunity offered by Mirath's dive and followed her back down through the thick cloud bank. He wasn't the closest by far, but he was gaining and so long as she still paid attention to him (the croon counted!) he was confidant!

Blue Jareth (G'nar) Speed - 4d20
This was more like it, He would have liked to spend more time buttering the crimson up but he had to focus on trying to catch her, others were now closer than he ... and Jareth was determined that HE was going to be the sire to her clutch ... if she clutched at all that was.

[NPC] Brown Ititth 3d20
Finally his eyes cleared of the afterspots. Ititth saw the crimson diving. With a graceful arch the brown nosed over and went into a dive of his own. Now was a chance to show off. He pulled his wings in against his body. With a twitch of a wingtip, he sent himself into a spiral.

Mirath was enjoying the sheer feeling of flight right now. The wind in her wings, a string of swift males behind her - a peek backwards showed several were getting fairly close, with blue Magith still in the lead - and the whole sky to revel in. She bugled joyfully and pumped her wings for speed, then curved her flight upward. And she kept curving, turning her flight into a broad loop-the-loop that would actually put her behind the males, if they continued at their current pace.
Roll your speed dice to turn in time to follow her!

Lophorinth: 2d20 Strength, 5d20 Speed, 2d20 Toughness
Loph bugled in return, taking immense joy in the spirited flight of the crimson leading them. He worked his wings, arcing backwards to follow her loop. He might have tried to cut across and maybe catch her by surprise at the end of her turn. He might have pulled a wing muscle too. There was still time yet to see who would win this day. He wasn't so far behind that he was ready to take risks for her. Her flight was far too enjoyable to ruin with pain!
Somewhere tucked away in a private corner of the weyr below, Luka's voice rang out in joyful laughter. She might not normally under such circumstances, but Lophorinth's good nature and simple joy was infectious and she found herself unable to resist echoing her bondmates feelings.

Blue Magith
He was flying well, and the crimson was flying even better. She was swift, and beautiful, and if he was a poetic sort of dragon, he would be tempted to muse about her. Luckily for everyone, Magith was not, and no one would suffer for his attempt at poetry.
He followed her as she arched up, losing a little speed, but still keeping pace. The skies were perfect for this sort of flying.

[NPC] Brown Ryth 4d20 Speed
This crimson really liked acrobats in the air, she was all over the place! As one of the bronzes, and bigger than their blue counterparts, it was harder for them to move as quickly. Luckily for him, he was a little bit faster than most his size. Ryth noticed her sudden change and followed, he would not be passed up by her! He was among the front of the pack now, hopefully she will have taken notice of his actions. To the blue (Magith) in front of him, he said, "You fly very fast." It wasn't much, but it was more of a compliment than he gave some.

Blue Jareth (G'nar) Speed - 4d20
Jareth was getting frustrated, he was close, closer than some but not as close as Magith ... perhaps maybe he could force the other male out of the running somehow? ... but no, he sensed that Mirath probably wouldn't like that and for all his bluster and wanting to be the one that caught her, he also wanted her to WANT him to catch her, he was the best after all... he just needed to prove it.. if only he could get closer.

Capuleth was out of breath to return the crimson's call but as he strove to catch her he did manage to pull a neat pirouette in the air which he hoped might make up for his lack of voice and words. Close now, very close, but not as close as he wished to be... and still not as close as Magith, and one other too now? It was a near thing for certain, he only hoped he could get as close as they were before the crimson made her choice. ___________

As Mirath completed her circle, she spun so could see the males clearly. Magith was still in the lead, but Ryth was neck-and-neck with him now. A few others were not far behind. Oh, it would be fun to see who finally caught up with her! Don't give up yet, you're all doing splendidly! she told them cheerfully.
She leveled out and flew more or less level for a little while, weaving in and out of clouds and casting playful glances at the males.
This flight has to be wearing on for the smaller males! Roll Toughness to see how well you're holding out!
