With every bouncing step she'd move a little more left then a little more right thoroughly having fun with the walk. Usually she paid more attention to where she was going, but this wasn't normal. As her feet lead her down the path she knew by heart, her own was fluttering. It was so exciting, getting to spend another day with Chal. The dare date had been her first and certainly a lot of fun. There was every reason to think this one would be too. Of all the thoughts that went racing joyfully through her head, not once did she even consider he wouldn't enjoy the game. Fun followed a competitive spirit!

The compliment derailed the candy tangent train of thought and she looked fully at him. The only response that fit, Alma gave one of those smiles so big you just had to keep your eyes closed for them. She trusted her feet and her companion all the same. "Thanks!"

With red tinted cheeks she returned the compliment with one of her own, "You have very nice, kind eyes." Stumbling next over a root, the nymph gave an embarrassed chuckle and had to watch where her feet were going. She wouldn't need to for long, the trees were breaking and the beach was clear ahead!

20 hours of overtime, yehaw o.o

It was contagious, seeing her flash him that big grin of hers made his face light up as well. "Thanks," he responded his voice somewhat shy, he was not used to receiving a complement. Those nice, kind eyes of his widened as he felt her stumble over the root and he held her hand tighter just in case she decided she was going down. Alma had managed to find her own balance though it seemed, so Chal loosened up his grip. "Careful there," he said with a light-hearted laugh as he watched her.

When Chal looked ahead again, he could see the beach. "Oh hey, we're there." The male grinned, picking up his pace a little, but still being careful with the basket he carried. When his feet finally touched the sand he looked back over at Alma. "So what shall we do first my lady? Are you hungry?" He asked, pouring on the cheese with the my lady comment.

Alma laughed at his comment, responding with a cheeky, "Just testing the gravity, I think it might be broken." Tapping the ground with her heel she made a 'tisktisk' sound and continued on her merry way.

Gleefully, she matched her pace with his excited for the beach and the fun it promised. Even before she knew how to swim she loved the idea of the beach. The memory of Tora-momma taking her to the real-real beach the first time was a cherished one.

Taking his word choices and running with it, she gave her best impression of a curtsey and said, "Well my lord, I would say a friendly game first." Lord was the male version of lady, right? Confidently enough in her answer, she didn't falter in her steps.

"Oh yeah, of course. We should tell the guardians to get on that, you could have been hurt" How could he have missed that . Chal wiggled his toes in the sand, it felt strange to him. Of course, he had never gone to the beach much, he was mostly a jungle and cave boy. His eyes had wandered the beachscape for a moment, turning to look back at Alma with a smile as she curtsied.

"Alright," he said, setting the basket down on the sand, fairly certain it would be safe here. "Show me how to play this game of yours."

Giggling at Chal's humor, she appreciated his running with her little joke. Looking up at the sky she wiggled her finger as if to do so to the guardians themselves. She had no real belief in them they were just stories as far as she knew. Things like what her grannie could create and stories like Strife to keep little pae in line sort of thing.

The sand felt great on her toes as she took in what was her second home. Basking in the son shine, she could stand still like this all day.

Or rather until he asked about her game. A grin was his only warning before she shot off like a rocket straight up letting go of his hand and she did so. The sand where she stood noticed her sudden and full speed escape as she got to the tree height then dove head first into a coconut tree. On the sand beside where she was, lay the fishing pole she had been carrying.

Out the other side she came barreling down to a clear patch of the sandy beach, loosing the temporary palm frond hair accessory she had obtained. Minding not, there was a task to preform and she was all over that. Landing where the water touched her heel, she dug the top of her foot into the sand and shot forward again towards the trees.

Pleased with the line she took to the other side facing Chel. "The goal is to toss this big thing." Lifting the coconut--large their proportions-- to show the ball, "Over the line to your opponent's side. If it hits the ground on their side, you get a point but it has to be fully over the line. No flying." She said the no flying part while she was still airborne herself.

Paying no mind to it she moved around drawing the outer limits to their court. The game was challenging physically and a bit mentally. "Oh," she added with a continued grin, "The second goal is not to get hit on the noggin, that hurts." As if to illustrate, she knocked on her own head with a fist and giggled all the same.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to this sweatdrop

The next few things that happened, happened so fast that Chal could hardly take it all in. Had she intended to do that? Was she hurt? Chal rushed to her side as soon as she had stopped moving to talk to him. "Are you okay?" His face looked slightly bewildered. He could only wish that he had as much energy as she did. The game would be sure to bring out whatever energetic side he might have though.

"No flying, huh?" Chal smirked as he reached for her. "That makes sense," he laughed as she demonstrated the noggin part. He would have been more concerned if she hadn't laughed. "Seems fair enough. Let's start."

Alma just laughed, not a clue why he was worried about her, "I am fantastic!" With a wide smile, she was delighted to share her game with him. The day was beautiful and had such potential. Her first day, imagine that! Just the idea of it incited a giggle. Even with the distractions of her mind zipping around as her body had done before, she noticed him reach for her. Putting out her own hand she shook his, not quite getting the reason for the reach.

Giving Chal a thumbs up and a little wink, she flew to her side of the court, leaving where he was as his own. Finally, she landed her foot in the warm sand followed by the other as her wings went silent. They weren't really built to be cleanly tucked back like a demon or angel but she settled them down against her frame with easy.

Lifting the coconut ball up and down a few times she made an exaggerated effort to roll her shoulders and rock side to side to loosen the hips. Then with both hands, using only the finger tips, she launched the coconut ball into the air giving a little whoop as she did so eager to see the game commence. It would be completely embarrassing to loose or making a bad start.

After Alma successfully set the coconut ball into the air, Chal suddenly thought about the logic of tossing a coconut back and forth. Well, he better not miss the ball, if it hit either of their heads that would be a doozy! "Good shot." Chal complemented her as he watched the ball coming down towards him, trying to find a good spot to hit it back from. Having no prior experience with this, he had no idea if she had actually done a good job, but it seemed well enough to him as he held out his hands and made contact with the ball, sending it back towards her.

Chal gave a smile of relief as it headed back towards her, he felt like he had really just gotten lucky with his first hit. "Heads up!" Chal shouted at Alma, a competitive edge to his voice.

Alma smiled as she hoped left to right on one foot then the other. There was no standing still as she eagerly awaited the return of the ball. When it did, it wasn't coming right at her. Hopping to attention, the nymph made a dash for the ball. Worried she wouldn't get there on time, she took a dive into the sand.

Skidding to a halt with her legs still in the air and head in the sand, she looked up to see the coconut safely in front of her. "Oof!" Sliding back so she was sitting on the back of her legs, the teen shook her head sending sand flying. "Good one!"

Standing back up, Alma grabbed the ball and called out, "Point one, Chal!" Then she tossed the coconut in her hand a few more times before serving it back towards Chal.

Chal felt a little bad, he had hit the coconut poorly which is why it went off track. Of course... that was also kind of the point of this game, unlike playing catch with his brothers. Chal was impressed with Alma's dive into the sand. Although it also looked like it might have hurt a little bit too. It was hard to tell because the girl never skipped a beat as she sent the ball back his way.

The male was a little more distracted this time, and blatantly missed the coconut. "Oh wow." He said sheepishly as he stared at the coconut lying square between his feet. Chal felt like he really could have hit it if he had even tried too. "Point for you?"

Putting a determined and focused face on, Chal sent the coconut back to Alma.

Alma cheered when he missed the coconut. Jumping up and down in place with her arms up she called out joyfully, "That is One to One!" Grinning she tried her hardest to look serious as he got ready to toss the ball back. That turned out to be harder then it seemed as she was having too much fun to keep on any sort of game face.

Her eyes followed the coconut as is it came sailing at her. The throw looked like a good one! Running the short distance, she got into position to toss the ball back. Only, she miss judged it by just a few feet. Planted firmly, all she could do was watch it sail passed her finger tips to land behind her. Half twisted, with her up half turned to look at the ball, she laughed. "Two points Chal! I'll have to try and tie it up again!" Losing didn't bother her one bit. Even if he won this game, she'd get him at the next game or the one after that.

Chal couldn't help but laugh at the fact that they were taking turns dropping the coconut. Maybe they were both distracted and having too much fun to care. The competitive nature he had inherited from being raised with two other brothers was not about to take a back seat though. The male focused on where the coconut was going and jumped towards it, making contact with his fists and bumping it back over to Alma. "There we go!" Chal shouted excitedly. Now they were back in the game! He only hoped that he had hit it well enough for her to hit it back.

It wasn't precisely the point of the game, but Chal thought it would be funner to pass it back and forth than take turns dropping it.

Watching the ball closely, she grinned when he managed to hit it back. Oh this time she was ready for him! Back pacing just enough, the coconut was in the perfect spot for an effortless toss back. Catching it with the tips of her fingers she gave a little jump and sent the coconut back at Chal. "Nice throw!" The well meaning compliment followed a little whoop as the ball went over to his side.

With a celebratory jump, Alma hopped up again with an arm extended upward. The game was going great, no complaints from her. It was anypae's game still if they did two out of three.

Chal stopped to watch Alma as she hit the ball back with such grace, it was just a brief moment because they were really rolling now, or something like that. Chal was all smiles as they successfully were hitting the ball back in forth. It was as if they were now in perfect sync together. He tried not to think on that too much though because the ball was quickly coming his way. In his score, he couldn't afford to be distracted again.

Chal lined himself up, trying to trace an arc with his mind. Boom! The coconut was flying back towards Alma. Perfect.
