More kin were joining them now, and Flame of the West was glad to know that Westfen was not the only honorable tribe amongst the swamp. He saw one acha planting seeds and smiled to himself. If Feverfew were here, she would be so happy to see that. As it were, the healer had not left the tribal lands. Without an apprentice to keep things together, the doe could not leave.

Tipsy
After she had buried the trash and had a drink, she moved on to the empty barrels. This took a while, rolling each intact one back toward the tribe's territory. It took a lot of time, but her shins were well-callused from this very activity.

Flame of the West pressed his nose against the wayward log and pushed it to the edge of the clearing. He had been working for the better part of the afternoon, but there was still a lot of work to be done.

Kiss of Death
The doe took notice of a worn out flattened bush where a kin once laid down on to sleep at night. Beside it, however, were old and dirty cracked shells and tiny foul smelling carcasses. A meat eater she presumed. She crept closer to see if there was a way to straighten out the broken branches.

Tipsy
The barrels were finally put up, stored near the stream where she could clean them. The bowls were next, dragged out in the last barrel (which she had to drain via drinking, naturally). She was suffused with a pleasant glow, and laughed a little as she wandered back.

A lovely acha rolled logs around, and Soothe simply had to stop to watch her: this, naturally, lost her much time. After a few moments of watching, though, she turned herself back to her task, which for now was clearing debris. She could replant when there was room to do so: there were far too many kin here now. Kiss of Death After carefully lifting the broken branches with her mouth, the doe realized that there was no way she could fix the bush back up. With a grunt, she used her strength to snap the branches off. The bush will grow new ones again in due time. She ate the green leaves and left the branches bare on the ground. Decomposition will take care of them, and she wandered off to another area that needed major tidying. MP: 460

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ as the sun burns | word count : 383 ] As Watch approached the fork where his small brook met one of the larger rivers, he noticed a weakness in the water that hadn't been there before. Turning a small bend past the clearing where the tasting stall had been, he noticed a large log blocking the water's path. With a nod of determination, his rested his shoulder against the side of the slimy, water-logged wood and gave it a solid push. [ 456 ]

Rocks were next. She meandered around the hollow, nosing rocks about. Some she put into a pleasing configuration, others she scattered to places where they rested naturally, off the main path.

It became a dance, of sorts, although it was difficult to call anything that Soothe did a dance. She was so slow and methodical about it: the way she smoothed soil into a flat empty plane, the way she pushed stones into corners carefully organized by size. MP: 445

The rocks seen to, Tipsy started churning up the bare earth. Easier to do with drink in her, as it didn't require much skill. She worked the rest of the day, getting the dirt nice, soft, and fluffy.

Peep looked up from her little plot of seeds and smiled warmly at the growing group of kin. Everyone was working together so well, without complaint or fuss. Her own little section was looking good but when another Acha that was churning up the earth got a little too close to her patch, she gave a soft, smiling, "careful there." At least the newly turned earth gave her more space to plant. MP: 426

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ as the sun burns | word count : 447 ] Slowly, but steadily, Watch pushed against the log. And inch by inch the sodden thing rolled and slid through the muck. Finally, when all was said and done, the stream regained its fullness and the log rested now between the nook of two trees where, eventually, moss would grow and a new home would be made for some creature or another. It was not seeds that Soothe would tend to, but seedlings, and other such plants uprooted from their former homes in order to make the battle stages look presentable, or clear. Working carefully around the tender roots of one, Soothe lifted it from its placed and positioned it in newly turned earth, not too near the seeds that Peep had planted. It would take far too much attention away from those. MP: 407
