"Was lookin' at other stuff," Penthe admitted, following behind Megrez. "If a step feels weak, tell me - I'll catch you." She wasn't sure if any of this was safe. It should have been, but she couldn't trust anything that was a thousand years old.

"Mm, okay." Megrez tapped the step in front of her with her foot, deemed it sturdy enough, and then proceeded to bound up the rest of the stairs with no caution whatsoever. She reached the top of the steps without incident, and then darted off to peek into a few rooms. When she found what she wanted, she called back down to Penthe: "Penthe, there are beds up here!" and promptly threw herself onto one, spreading herself out on it. Yes, this was perfect. She would have no problems conking out here (or any other reasonable flat surface, for that matter). Even if she was on a strange planet, she wasn't alone. Penthesilea was with her, so what could go wrong?

Penthe cringed, watching Megrez charge up the stairs. She waited for the seemingly-inevitable crash, but when it didn't come, she let out a small, quiet breath and went up the stairs after her. It was nice, to find signs of habitation here -- and no memories. This was a quiet little house, where, if Evadne had visited, it was not enough to trigger a memory in her reincarnation.
"We'll sleep here t'night, an' I'll take ya back t'Earth in th'mornin'."

"Sounds good to me," Megrez said, stretching out before rolling onto her side, then back onto her back. She would probably change positions a billion times tonight. "I got really tired back there. Here's better than a park bench. Good night, Penthe~!" She shut her eyes, but it would probably be a little while before she actually lost consciousness. Nonetheless, she was ready for the day to be over. Making the first step in a war such as this one was tiring.

Penthe exhaled, and fell onto the other bed in the room. It wasn't comfortable, which she supposed she should have expected, and being in her powered form was even less so.
But at least Megrez was here, rather than somewhere where she could get in danger. "Sleep well, darlin'," she said, and then she rolled over to try and fall asleep.
