His scowl had no effect on her. She simply gasped, looking down at Hikari with wide eyes and playful shock and offense on her face. "He called you a pain in the a** oh Hikari!" She hugged the minipet tight and swayed side to side with her, cooing and loving the Ofuda and just generally making up for months upon months upon months of not loving on the scareon. It was an apology to the minipet.
"Sayuri, Kuro, and Momo are in the closet. I didn't want them getting sad by themselves, I'll let them out when we're there." She made kissy sounds at Hikari and then the elevator stopped. Junko smiled, stepping out before Seiji to move out into the hall and stop at the door for apartment four. "Heeeere we are~!" She sang, using her hair to unlock this door as well. "I asked my neighbor to keep an eye on everything so it should be--oh good, yes!" The door opened to reveal the apartment inside. It was cozy, small but not uncomfortably so, but it definitely only housed one person. She set her key down on the coffee table and turned the lights on with a nudge of her shoulder against the wall, all while gathering her hair into a braid and walking into the apartment. The bags she still carried were set down on the floor under one of the windows that overlooked the neighborhood outside. "Make yourself at home!"
Junko continued into the kitchen, using her hair to this time open a closet. She barely had the door completely open before her three babies came rushing out and leaped at the ghoul with love and joy and affection and HI WELCOME HOME WE MISSED YOU HI HI HI HI HI! She squealed, falling to the floor and only hugging Hikari tighter as she went down so as not to drop her.

"She can be a pain in the a**," he insisted, shamelessly. The elevator stopped, and they were in a hall before stopping at apartment four. As the door swung open the boil leaned forward, looking over the ghoul's head, into her home. Curious, nosy. It was cozy, very neat, and the interior was all Junko. "Nice place you got." Make himself at home, really? He knew she was just being nice, that was part of what he'd loved about her before, but now it just sent mixed messages all over the place, and as much as Seiji had told himself he was over her, it wasn't completely true. But he did as she said, setting her luggage down with the rest and following her to the closet so she could let the minis out. They went wild, as expected, at the sight of her, and who could blame them?

Safe on the ground, Junko released Hikari to instead let her three crazies get at her. She laughed and squealed, squeaking when Sayuri licked her face. She tried to talk to them but none of them would let her get a word in edgewise. This lasted several minutes before they finally relented and instead set their eyes on Seiji, someone they hadn't seen for even longer than their mummy.

The ghost boil stood to one side, shoulder against the wall, watching the ghoul as she was buried beneath the wiggling yapping, hyper bodies of her three excitable pets as well as his own scareon. After a minute, glowing eyes rolled, breath leaving in a rush that wasn't quite a snort of amusement.
Then a pair of eyes turned his way, and another, until finally all three of Junko's pets were staring him down, bodies wiggling as tails wagged so rapidly they blurred. 'No." Large hands cam up as he straightened up, as if to fend off something a lot more ferocious then a trio of dainty mini pets. "No, no no. You all stay right there."
Right, because that had ever worked. Sayuri gave a high pitched yip, and suddenly surged forward, followed by the other two, and the brute of the ghost gave a very audible sigh and gave in, sinking down to sit cross-legged on the floor so they could crawl all over him.

Sayuri did indeed climb all over Seiji, trying to get up on his shoulder so she could lick at his face. Even Kuro was pawing at his chest, yipping and wagging his tail so fast is was nearly a blur. Momo was the calmest of the three, climbing onto Seiji's lap and just curling up to sleep there. Mine.
Junko laughed and got up off the floor, leaving Seiji to the happy minipets while she meandered through the kitchen, checking cupboards and cabinets and drawers. Yes, good, it was all stocked up. "I'm in the mood for something sweet. What about you?" She asked while already getting what she needed to make something to eat with.

All the affection he was getting from the pets was expected. Sayuri, the hyperest of the three, always seemed utterly determined to win him over despite the fact that she annoyed more than the other two, plus his own three, combined. To her credit, she usually managed to wear him down enough that he simply relented and let her crawl all over him. Or had. It had been a while.
It was Momo curling up in his lap that made his chest tighten slightly, and another sigh passed his lips, softer this time, as he brought a hand up to run a soft ear between his fingers. "Hey there little peach." He remembered when he'd gotten him, nothing but a pretty little care egg, a present for his ghoulfriend. Of Junko's pets, he'd always liked her best, but now? Now it was kind of awkward.
Junko's voice brought him back to attention, and he blinked, having only really hear something sweet. "What?" She was in the kitchen, hands on cupboard doors, and it clicked. "Oh, yeah sure, whatever you feel like making. You know I'm not picky."
He should have been excusing himself, The longer he stuck around, the more he was realizing just how very much he had missed her.

Momo purred under the affections he was being given, tail thumping every now and then against Seiji's leg as well as an airy ghostly tail could. Sayuri draped herself across Seiji's shoulders like a fox stole, a living one..yes.
Junko hummed cheerfully while she worked, grabbing a bowl and beginning to mix things together. She'd decided on muffins, apparently. "It's almost strange being back and already doing things like I'd never left," she mused aloud, pushing the bowl aside to crush some candy corn into a fine powder and then add it to the mix. "I had worried that perhaps I'd be gone so long that by the time I got back no one would remember me, so I'd spend the entire day just..unpacking and resettling." Junko smiled. "Good thing you were there, huh? I needed that trip though. It was nice."

The minis had claimed him.
Hikari had crawled up onto his lap to curl around Momo, pale face bumping affectionately against the other ofuda's cheek. Seiji watched them, frowning thoughtfully, and stroked a hand over Momo's back. When he and Junko had split, it ha split the minis as well. Not a huge deal with the majority of their pets, but these two? They'd always been pretty inseparable whenever they shared space.
"Oh yeah?" He'd have to take her word for it, he hadn't really seen her in a while, and even longer still since he'd watched her doing anything domestic. It was nostalgic, it a way that made the boil miss her terribly.
Seiji made a face at the idea that anyone could just forget Junko, pinched features saying clearly he found that logic absolute absurd. "That's just silly, J. No one is going to forget about you." He snorted, as if he found the notion personally insulting. But the sour face didn't last, not as she pointed out she was happy he'd happened to run into her at the station. "Do you feel all refreshed now?"

Junko nodded with a cheerful 'mhm!' in response. But his next comment had her blushing and nearly dropping her tea kettle, sloshing water onto the counter and nearly onto her dress. She cleared her throat. "Yeah..silly me," she chuckled. The kettle was set onto the stove and she turned away to quickly dry up her mess.
"I do! I feel much better. I..don't think I was in a very good place before I left. I wasn't myself, you know?" She frowned then and started stirring the muffin batter, letting it occupy her and distract her for a moment. "I got my passport, to go to the human world. Spent a lot of time there. It was really great. I love scaring, I'm actually really good at it!" Junko's grin returned. She finally finished mixing and dug around in the cupboards until she found her muffin tins, filling them up and putting them in the oven before walking up to Seiji with the bowl and spoon. She held them down to him in offering. "Hardly anyone dresses like I usually do anymore, I had to really update my wardrobe. That's where I found this!" She did a little turn to show off her dress, the skirt swaying like a bell with her movements again. "Annnnd why I returned with more bags than I left with.."
Yup.
That was a thing.

Had that been a blush lighting up her cheeks before she'd fumbled the kettle? He was fairly certain it had been. A sly, pleased little grin appeared on grey lips as he watched her mopping up the water shed spilled, fading off into something friendly by the time she'd finished and gotten back to her baking.
The batter alone smelled amazing, it had his stomach rumbling again, and the two ofuda in his lap swiveled plush ears at the sound, perplexed.
"I'm glad you're feeling more yourself, you really do look as if a bit of weight has been lifted off your shoulders." Ah, and then she was offering him the bowl and spoon, and he took it eagerly, cleaning one side with two long licks. Delicious. The little twirl had his attention lifting again, and he couldn't help but stare a bit as she showed off the new dress, glowing gaze following the line of the bell skirt to her legs and down to dainty feet. "Very lovely."

She nodded. "I feel as I look, then!" Junko stepped away then to check on the boiling water. She hummed cheerfully while she wandered the small kitchen, getting her tea tins and debating to herself with two of them before finally choosing one. She went back to work, humming and singing quietly under her breath as she did so. Seiji's admiration of her body had gone unnoticed.
"So you're going to be a third year and then graduate soon, huh?"

He couldn't help but wonder just how long she'd been carrying that weight on her shoulders. It had been there, when they'd talked in the cemetery. When he'd left for his trip home, to pick up the ring, and to talk to his parents. He was aware of it then, trying to fix things, trying to mend what had started to unravel. But how far back did it stretch? his eyes tracked her around the kitchen, and he felt as though she should have been able to feel the weight of his regard, but she didn't turn. Her attention was on tea, trying to choose between two boxes, before one was placed away again. When she questioned him he blinked, and glowing eyes dipped to his lap, to the ofuda curled there, then back up again as an easy, though slightly self deprecating smile took over strong features. "Yeah, that's the plan.I only need a few more credits, then I can take my exam."

Junko made a pleased little noise. "That's wonderful! It's about time, huh? I can't wait to see you all graduated and everything, it'll be great! You should plan something to celebrate."
While Junko spoke she made her way out of the kitchen, allowing her hair to unbraid itself. A door opened, there was a shuffling of fabric, and then the door closed. There was more shuffling, shifting, heels clicking in the floor. Finally Junko reappeared in something more casual, a set of pajamas she liked wearing on those rare, rare days she allowed herself to be lazy. "Momo's asleep," she chuckled, reaching over to gently pet between his ears. "Want me to move him?" Junko asked as she slid down the wall to sit beside him.

Seiji shrugged, carefully, not wanting to dislodge Sayuri. "Maybe, I mean it's just been such a long time coming," he rubbed at Hikari's ear, smoothing that soft, pale fur between his fingertips. "I dunno." It had taken forever, and all of his friends had left school, graduated or returned home. Who would he even invite? Junko would go, but Seiji was getting the feeling that the more time he spent with the ghoul, the more he'd realize how much he missed her, how much he still cared.
She didn't want that anymore, as far as he knew, and if there wasn't a chance, he really didn't want to put his heart out on the line.
Brows inched upward as she left the room and headed deeper into the apartment. He heard a door close, shuffling about, a door opening again, and the ghoul's footsteps as she headed back towards the kitchen. When he saw her his eyes widened a touched, surprised to see she'd slipped into pajama's while he was there, and not at all sure how to react to it.
As she slid down the wall to sit beside him he offered a helpless sort of smile, before giving another careful shrug. "They're all asleep." He wasn't positive, but if the heat was anything to go by, Kuro had squirmed into the gap between his back and the wall. "Won't moving them wake them up?"

Junko actually giggled. "Not if we're careful. Would you rather sit here and pray to Jack they wake up soon? Here, just stay still." With slow, careful movements she reached for the sleeping ofuda first, sliding her arms underneath them and sloooowly scooping them up against her chest. She then stood with that same slowness so as not to jostle them, and only when she was absolutely sure did she walk into the main room of the apartment and set them down on the bed. She returned, treating Sayuri the same until she realized...
"...Where's Kuro?"
