Gulliver stood back, watching and observing so he too would find out the information, but leaving Rais to do the interrogating that he himself probably should have done.Thom looked at what he was holding and got a better look when it drifted to the floor not too far from him, "It's a parchment I took to write on, I.. I took notes so I wouldn't forget anything" he shifted his position against the wall so he could see what order he'd written things. His voice was a lil hoarse, he'd had nothing to drink in over a day, but he continued anyways. "I.. I wrote about a notice I saw, they have some kind of test of loyalty coming up, that their squires... They have to get collect some stuff from others, a coin, a cup, a sword and some kind of wooden rod. Uhm.." he squinted at the parchment to see what else he'd written "They, they will get some kind of protection, aether the notice said and have to go into a challenge, but they have to have all those items." He stopped talking and coughed several times wincing in pain from the beating he'd received the night before. "They are letting anyone loyal to the guardians take part now" he added in a hoarse whisper. He had more to tell them and now he figured the only thing worse they could do to him then before was pure out right torture or killing him.
"I have more... please let me tell... it's not on there but.. I remember it" he stopped a moment looking up from the parchment towards the second male with a look of desperation, when he had said something similar to Gulliver he was beaten. "When... when I left the city... they were celebrating, talking about a hero they named Raken..." he was speaking almost hurriedly he wanted to get this out, to prove himself "They were saying he caused great harm to the Great Tree, I saw the smoke when I left the city please tell me it will ... will be fixable" he coughed again, and again winced, talking this much with a very dry throat was causing him to cough a lot. "There was word... that a child had been taken by the faun and that another pae was being sent to rescue it." he hoped beyond hope that he was believed.

Having tossed the parchment down in front of the prisoner, Rais moved away from the cell, crossing his arms and leaning against one of the walls formed with Laisidhiel's intertwining roots. He would have liked to have the Seer present for this interrogation, but she was still in the infirmary in recovery. His connection to Laisidhiel would serve him in telling the truth from the lies from the Blood Pae's mouth.
Not that that seemed it would be a hard task to do. The Blood Pae seemed to hold nothing back, throwing out information as if attempting to bargain for his life. Once or twice, Rais shot a sideways glance at the Ranger Captain. He could tell the prisoner's condition wasn't caused only by his journey...he could understand to an extent what had likely happened, but...restraint was a quality that set them above these monsters.
Even if he would need time to sort through the information the Blood Pae provided, none of it rang obviously false. Strange, but not false. One fact he did focus on was the name that passed the other's lips. Raken. The one responsible for the damage to the Tree. They now had a name and a description from eye witnesses.
It was only a matter of time now.
Wait...one detail DID ring false.
Frowning, the Faun Chieftain turned his gaze down on the cowering, wingless angel. "You are suggesting then that some Faun put an innocent child in danger, kidnapped them from their parents, I assume, and brought them here to Laisidhiel as a prison? Is that what you're saying? That is a bold-faced LIE!" The ground rumbled with the Chieftain's shout. "And you're saying this is the reason we were attacked?"
The ground shook with each step as the Chieftain neared to glare down at the captive angel. There was no pity in his gaze, only fury. He could not direct that towards this one pathetic specimen, however, when all of the Blood Pae, whoever besides this 'Raken' may have been involved in the attack. If a whole City were celebrating this destruction and harm to other Pae'il...
...what depraved souls they must be.
"I am still not convinced you are innocent in all this, Angel. Certain chains of events seem just a bit too...convenient to me." Rais leaned on the roots of the enclosure with one forearm, lowering his voice though the edge remained. "Your involvement with our former Pathfinder, for example. Your sudden desire to swear yourself to the Tree, though you know little or nothing of us at all. You lack even a satisfactory reason for doing so. And though she lost her position because of you, I had hoped that Amadorine would still continue to report to us of events on the isle, of happenings we might need to know about. Perhaps she would have been able to warn us of the Blood Pae plan to attack us. Had she not gone missing."
His expression hardened, eyes narrowing dangerously. "If I find out you had any part in this...in the attack or in our Sister's disappearance, I swear your wings will be the least of your problems. If you're lucky, I'll snap you like kindling and make it quick." Rais straightened up slowly. "Best hope your conscience is clear, Angel."
Pushing away from the cell and turning on his hoof, the Chieftain needed to make his exit with what he'd already learned. He could not guarantee he wouldn't take his own frustrations out on the Blood Pae given what he'd learned, and likely...Thom wouldn't survive an 'interrogation' of that kind by the Chief. Turning to Gulliver, he issued his orders before departing. "You may continue to question him if he has any further information. You will use my method, not your own, is that clear? Otherwise, keep him here until we determine whether he is truly innocent in all this...or not. He will be given food and water and treated civilly enough. As I fear that I hope in vain that these barbaric monsters would treat one of our own. He will remain here until this is settled, at which point his guilt or innocence will be judged. Understood, Captain?" After waiting for confirmation that his orders were understood, the Faun Chieftain disappeared to return to the surface.
Shicala Rais has left the building Root Cellar.

The ranger captain nodded in acknowledgement to chieftain. "Yes Sir" he said and watched the male leave the room. After a moment Gulliver looks back to Thom and unlocks the enclosure, entering and untying the angel's hands before exiting and re-closing the enclosure. "We'll continue tomorrow then, I'll have some food and water brought to you" he tells Thom, he didn't wait for an answer before he turned and left the room himself heading to get some food sent to Thom before he'd get some for himself.
Thom too watched the chieftain leave he felt some sense of relief that he'd been able to try to prove himself and tell what he had to tell. When his hands were released he had to move them some to wake them up, he shook his hands and wiggled his fingers and then stopped once they were loose again. He nodded hearing Gulliver's calmer 'tomorrow', "Thanks" he said and moved to sit on the bed of the cell as Gulliver left the room. He sighed and flopped back looking up at the ceiling, 'I guess I wait to see then' he thinks to himself.
(( more later I'm brainfarting ))
