Lambert smiled like the son. It wasn't something he did a lot since he was little. "I do a bit of parkour and gymnastics as part of my training. While Wizards have magic, it has always been recommended to work our bodies as well. "My idol said that by working our bodies we work our minds and even with magical dueling we need to dodge. If all else fails our bodies can be a weapon without magic." He commented to her. He wasn't super strong, but he made sure to train at least twice a week when had the time. "Don't worry about your muscles. I think they look good on you, besides when you meet Mr. Right he'll tell you that himself." Lambert added to the girl. "Just like my Mrs. Right wont care if a crazy Chinese lady lives with us." He added then chuckled. He kept his words low so Mrs. Chen didn't hear. "Lambert." The woman said right behind him. The man froze. She was right behind him the whole time. "Mrs. Chen." He said turning to her, he was ready to be beaten or have his ear pulled. "I can't reach food. You go bring lunch here. We eat together." The woman said. This time the man was saved. Instead it was just a hungry old woman. "Of course. I'll finish lunch and bring out the food." He agreed before walking to the back. The old woman sat down in front of Roxie. "I do not see him smile often. You be good woman. Should marry him and make me happy. I worry for him if I were to die then he would lose control without someone in his life." She told Roxie. This was clearly a mother trying to marry her son off.

~Roxie Harper~ If Lambert and Roxie were in a relationship, some of things he said to her would be pure flattery. Now he mentioned that he trained his body by performing parkour and gymnastics. That's definitely a hardcore way to train and will keep your body in shape. She doesn't understand how that will help him with wizardry, but it is true that working your body physically affects your mind. Its a way of clearing away all the junk that can fester inside your mind. Perhaps what is trying to get at is that a clear mind helps him cast spells or whatever he does as a wizard, and for fighting it helps that you can dodge. Going back to flattery, he mentioned that her muscles looked good on her and that Mr. Right will appreciate it. Of course Mr. Right will, but right now she isn't ready for him. Still, that was sweet of him to say that her toned body was a nice look for her. As soon as the "crazy Chinese lady" was brought up, it was as if she teleported to Lambert. Figuring she was about to see another embarrassing and awesome scene, she paid close attention to what was going to happen, only for the scene to turn out boring when he was told to bring lunch to the table. Her food must be ready and she was excited to have that duck as her stomach growled loudly. That same lady sat down across from Roxie and the way she paraphrases what the woman said was this: she is a good woman because she makes Lambert smile and they should get married so she can be happy and no longer worry for him. It was like she got set up for an arranged marriage and as much as she didn't want to break the woman's heart, she needed to be truth. As she scratched her head in an attempt to hide her nerves, she replied to the lady,
"Um, I'm sure your boy is a great guy and all, but I don't think he and I are meant to be. He looks like he would want someone who isn't like me if hes going to wait for the right girl to show up in a way that he will instantly know that she is the one. I respect him for that but I didn't see that happen today. Also...I'm not ready for that sort of commitment. Heck, I don't even think I'm ready for dating. I got to keep my head in the game for some competitions coming to town and opportunities to live my life until I'm ready to slow down a bit."

Mrs. Chen wasn't about to give up. "Nonsense. Girl like you get married, have plenty of babies. Lambert cook and clean you do what you want. He good cook. Children don't know a good girl when they sit in front of them, that why parents set their children up for the future." The woman told the girl. She wouldn't take no for an answer and Roxie would have to wait till Lambert was back to stop his adopted mother. "You have plenty of time. We need plan for wedding first." The woman added. In her mind that was still a whole year before they typed the knot. There was a whole year for Roxie to do what she wanted to do.

~Roxie Harper~ Clearly Mrs. Chen was born and raised during a time in which arranged marriages were all the rage. That probably didn't happen in America all too often like it did in China, but it didn't change the fact that this woman was dead set on marrying Lambert to Roxie and trying to assure her that aside from being a baby maker, she is free to do as she wished. Now it is true that in this day and age, it is tough for men and women to realize that their significant other could be standing right in front of them, but she isn't sure that is the case with this guy. Besides, she didn't want to be forced into marriage and there was no way she wanted to be seen as just a baby maker in a relationship. Sure, she can be treated like a princess responsibilities between a guy and girl in love with each other should be shared at least to the point where the girl can be helpful.
"Eh, I am not too keen on the "have plenty of babies" part. There is no way I am ready for one kid, let alone plenty. Marriage just isn't for me right now and I don't want someone to match me with someone I may not like later on. I'm sorry, but that sort of thing is something I should pursue on my own whether or not I end up with Lambert or not. I appreciate what you're trying to do here, but I rather things go naturally then planned."

"Kai-ya." The woman said as if the girl had said something crazy. she stopped in her words as Lambert served lunch for all of them. It seemed the meal was going to served family style with plenty of options for everyone to pick from and not just the duck. There was a total of four dishes. "Sorry about that." He commented as he put out a pitcher of water and more cups. Once he was done he sat down with the group. "I hope Mrs. Chen wasn't being a pain?" He said as he looked at the woman. His eyes then turned back to Roxie. "Please eat up, there is a lot of food and I don't want to be the one to eat it all." he joked as he let Roxie have the first pick of the food.

~Roxie Harper~ Roxie could tell that Mrs. Chen was not pleased with the replies that she was giving her. Oh well, its not like the old lady has a way of forcing the two of them to get married unless she was on friendly terms with the Triads, but that particular thought excited her more than frightened her and made her wonder if they were any Triads eating in the restaurant right now. Lambert soon returned with enough food to feed an entire family, but Roxie was determined to eat as much as she can, especially when her stomach growled loudly just from the look of all the food in front of her. Out of politeness, she held back from chowing down at the moment and replied to Lambert with a grin,
"Not at all. Shes actually a delightful lady, so I don't see why you give her problems sometimes. Oh, you won't have any problems with me eating this food. I'll be shocked if there is enough leftover to fill the two of you up. Fun fact about me: I eat a lot more food than you think a girl like me would, especially since I am all about fitness, but I do have a high metabolism so that makes up for it I guess. Anyways, time to chow down!"
Before she became a human vacuum, she grabbed a pair of unused chopsticks and broke it apart. From that moment one, she began feeding herself at an alarming rate that someone might suggest her to slow down before she chokes herself on a ball of rice or piece of duck. Even though she was practically stuffing, chewing and swallowing food quickly, she enjoyed the flavor of every morsel that went into her mouth.

Lambert chuckled. "Just remember dessert then." He said before him and his adopted mother gathered some food for their own plates and saved it from being consumed by Roxie. The two of them at bit by bit. "Girl have good appetite. Perfect for babies." The old woman commented. Lambert just ignored her. He was used to it at this point.

~Roxie Harper~ After hearing desert, everything else that was said at the table went inside one of Roxie's ears and out the other. Despite all the food she was consuming at the moment, she will still have room for dessert, although she doesn't know about any Chinese desserts since most of her experience with Chinese foods revolve around takeout when her family decided not to make a home cooked meal and didn't want to spend too much money on fast food. It took about half an hour to eat all the food that was not taken by Lambert and Mrs. Chen, which they probably didn't take so much considering that trying to take food from Roxie is basically entering the danger zone. She sighed with relief from the food she ate, cleaned her mouth and hands with a napkin before she said,
"Well, I got to admit, that was some good food. Especially the duck and the fried rice. You did mention dessert and I still have room for one so...what do you suggest? Unfortunately I have only eaten Chinese takeout so I never had or heard of a Chinese dessert...except the fortune cookie. Oooh! Do you guys have those?! I love reading those fortunes! I think they're hysterical!"

Lambert had the menu remembered by heart. "Mango ice cream, sweet sticky rice, fruit, rice pudding, or vanilla pudding." The man answered on the desserts they had in the shop. He then looked at her. "We don't do fortune cookies. They are an American invention not Chinese." He added. He really hoped that she didn't want one because Mrs. Chen would be upset.

~Roxie Harper~ Out of all the dessert options Lambert told her, it was the mango ice cream and vanilla pudding that stood out to her. However, she was also curious about the sweet sticky rice since its something she never had before and since life is all about risk, why not take a chance? This pretty much led to conflict within her mind until she made a final decision: have them all. It was a good compromise since it allowed her to have her familiar treats as well as something new at the same time in case her risk didn't work out. What was interesting to her was that the fortune cookie was an American invention, not Chinese. Then again, she has a bad habit of not researching culture and history so some staples like Chinese takeout coming with fortune cookies is something she figured every Chinese restaurant has. With her grin, she replied to Lambert,
"Its all good. Like I said, I like reading the fortunes, although its good to know that the cookies are actually American so in case I ever end up in China, I don't offend anyone. As for my dessert, I'll just have one of everything. I couldn't decide so why not try them all."

Lambert got up from the table and headed back to the kitchen. It seemed that he would be the dessert cook for the group. It didn't take him long and he soon came back with the variety of sweets. He sent out Roxie's first before he set out the ones for him and Mrs. Chen. The man said down and started to eat his rice pudding while Mrs. Chen had her fruit.

~Roxie Harper~ Roxie is wondering why Lambert and Mrs. Chen gotten so quiet all of a sudden. Did the fortune cookie comment already offended them? If that was the case she had to apologize as soon as he returned with dessert. Even if the fortune cookie thing wasn't offensive due to her lack of knowledge about Chinese culture, she still needed to get at least one of them to start talking again. When he came back with all the dessert options for her as well as something for them to eat, she first took a spoonful of the mango ice cream and put in her mouth. She allowed it to melt a little bit on it's own before taking the spoon out of her mouth and finished eating that portion of mango ice cream.
"As a start, the mango ice cream is refreshing. Um, do you any of you know when the weather is going to get better. There is a surfing competition coming up and I want to prepare for it today but a sudden storm started happening at the beach. I still practice if the lifeguards weren't so picky about safety."

I'm not totally sure. I spend most of my time inside anyways. Someone has to help Mrs. Chen." The man answered as he thought for a moment. I'm sure you can always ask a stronger wizard if he'll make you a fake beach so you can practice. They usually do it for a small amount of money.

~Roxie Harper~ Roxie sampled the other desserts on the table as Lambert explained to her that within the next two days, the weather ought to clear up so she can have near perfect beach weather to practice for the surfing competition. Of course, she will be impatient and end up going to the beach when the storm isn't so ferocious to practice, but she won't go if the storm is too strong. She likes taking risk, but she isn't dumb enough to go out surfing during weather conditions that can be near hurricane level. The idea sounds suicidal and she hasn't been driven to the point in her life at all.
"Hmm, I'll think I'll just wait for weather to calm down a bit. Magic may be fun, but I don't think it can rival with the naturalness of a real beach, no offense you and your wizardry ways. Oh, and all your desserts here are fantastic. It's good thing I won't have to worry about the guilt trip later since I can work this off easy."

Lambert didn't know if there was anything really fake feeling about magic. It sure felt real to him when he was forced under an illusion spells. "I wont take offense. Just don't say that to others. They may not feel the same." He warned the girl. Wizards were prideful creatures and it was best to keep your mouth shut sometimes. "I'm glad you like them. Mrs. Chen worked really hard on it."
