Makani gave a bit of a laugh, "Well now, you see? Not only is he handsome but he's also modest too." He told his patient, finding it cute that Biroki was claiming that he 'wasn't cute but wasn't ugly either'. Really it made him want nothing more then to reach out with a hand, to trace his features, and find out for himself but he didn't want to ruffle the guy's feathers. He knew that there were those who didn't appreciate someone inspecting them by hand though he couldn't say that he wasn't really curious now given what Biroki had said. The more a person tried to deny that they were handsome the more he started to believe it was likely not true, he bet Biroki was quite easy on the eyes... or, well, in Makani's case hands.

"Really?" He asked when Biroki commented that she'd enjoy Makani at least, something that had the blind man grinning a bit, "I thank you for the compliment. Knowing that despite working so hard of late that I still look good makes me happy. Gives my patients something more enjoyable to look upon when I work with them." He wasn't one to turn down a compliment, they were always welcome, and harder to find at the moment since there were far more important things going on then flirting.

A little more time was spent with Makani chatting with the female coma patient before he was on his feet once more. Giving Biroki a nod he said, "I am going to go and get some water so that we can refill the water pitchers in here. I like to make sure there is plenty of it on hand in case our patients get thirsty. Did you want to come along? It's just outside the tent and it will let us get a bit of fresh air."

”Yes. I can help with the pitchers, too...” said Biroki, guiltily relieved to be leaving the tent. Relieved because it felt wrong for people to be out so completely like that. Guilty because he knew that the relief was more wrong, morally, than their condition. ”Is there anything else about the camp th-that's changed since the last battle? Any new tents?” Maybe a Healer's barracks? That would have been nice before.Or a dedicated supply tent for the healers, where only healing supplies would go. That would also have been nice before, and cut down on the time it took to find things. ”I want to be able to jump right into things... If I know my way around before the battle, it'll be easier to help others during it...”

He looked around, grateful for the fresh air and the view. Sunlight streamed through the trees here, and it was beautiful. ”There are still p-people living in Neued, aren't there?” he said, not happy with the realization.

Makani thought about it for a moment as he gathered the pitchers as they walked along, handing a few of them off to Biroki as they went. Once they had stepped through the flaps of the tent that brought them outside he set to stretching out all over, giving a little groan as he did so, before he turned toward Biroki so that he could better listen to him. The question was one that he thought about for a moment before he chuckled, "Truth be told I couldn't tell you. I spend most of my time right in this area with the patients, tending to them, or with my sister's troupe." He explained as he set the pitchers down on the table that was just outside the tent.

"On occasion I will walk down to the river but that is mostly because, as a mage, I am good at collecting and purifying water for the healers and the cooks." He said, making a motion with his hands, drawing water up out of the barrels, using his magic to gather it up, then broke it off into several separate streams that would fill the pitchers, "I wish I could be more help but I am a bit of a workaholic or so I am told." It was something that caused him to give a little chuckle as he was forced to admit it.

His next question had him nodding, "The battle was a bit rough, but a lot of people ended up falling back here to Neued. A lot of people means a lot more work to do. It's another reason why I find myself collecting water so often, because so much of it is needed." He said, lifting a foot to tap t against the water barrel, listening to the sound which let him know how much remained in it, "Perhaps I could see about asking you for your help with that task one day. It's not too difficult a process and I don't mind teaching you... well, unless of course it's something that you've done before." He didn't want to assume one way or the other, not wanting to insult someone who was of higher rank then him.

Oh... Well, if Makani couldn't help him with that, then Biroki had an excuse to explore. ”I understand.” he said, shifting slightly to keep the pitchers balanced in his arms as they began to fill and change weight.

Though... with it being a village still, and home to other people... Biroki felt almost voyeuristic, exploring and living in such a place. This was a Shifter village, on the edge of the jungle and older than even Ast, but it was very much not Ast. Not his home.

”Your sister? What does your sister do?” he asked, surprised. Having no siblings of his own, it was always interesting to think about what it must be like for others.

”W-well...” he said, smiling sheepishly, ”I could try, but water... ah... d-doesn't react well to my magic.” He just couldn't get it to work right for him, ”My main elements are f-fire and lightning... I can manage Earth too. A little.” he trailed off, thoughtful, ”But you're welcome to try teaching me. I'd like to at least handle it with magic. Without boiling it into steam...” Or electifying it, or having the spelled water fall apart in his hands and get all over him because his magic had grown 'bored'...

Makani gave a smile, "Eira dances, quite beautifully in fact if the ever growing number of fans is an indication." He said as he continued to moved the water forward with his magic. He couldn't see her dance exactly, but he was able to watch in his own way as she danced, something made even more amusing when she dragged others like Gyuri or Borra in for a dance since they weren't as good at it, "You should stop by sometime, she dances for the villagers, entertains the soldiers, it helps to keep morale up. Don't sit too close though or she might catch you by the hand and pull you into a dance." He warned, wondering what his fellow magic users reaction might be to such a thing.

Once the water pitchers were full Makani sent the remaining water he was manipulating back to the barrels, not wanting to waste any of it, "Well, fire is quite important to the whole process. You need to boil the water to make sure that its safe to drink after all." He said, always happy to do anything when it came to working with others as well as using his magic. He knew he needed to continue to practice if he wanted to continue getting better with it after all.

"Water, fire, and ice are what are required to purify the water, though the last one is only to quickly cool it down to where its safe to drink. Given the heat of Jauhar the cold water is preferred by everyone, the only ones who need hot water are healers when it comes to cleaning instruments or cooks since they need to heat up the water anyway and don't care if it comes preheated." He explained, then gave Biroki a bright smile, "I don't mind showing you. Just let me know when you'd like to try it."

Its been forever, so we should probably end this...

”Oh.” A dancer, hmm... Biroki couldn't dance to save his life, so he could respect someone who made that their profession. ”Maybe I will.” he said, laughing a little at the idea of being pulled into a dance. He'd be sure to sit a safe distance, if he did join her.

”Oh, I see. Though, isn't summoned water normally f-fairly pure?” he said, feeling a little relieved that his specialties could be of some use to the process after all. ”Though, it is from the air, and the air isn't.” there were diseases that came through the air, and Jahuar's air had many miasmas especially. ”So... I'd be happy to be shown.” Biroki frowned at the passing light of day, ”Ah! I need to set up my bunk. Thank you for showing me around – I'll join you l-later. Maybe tonight, if I don't get caught up in s-something.” he bowed ”It was good to meet you, Makani”

Unless there is something you want to add we can it good here. ^_^ Let's RP more sometime! <3

Makani gave a soft laugh, "Well, something I've been taught is that we can never be too careful, especially when it comes to patients who are in a delicate condition. If taking the time to purify the water will help then it's something I will do for them." He gave his fellow magic user a gentle smile then, "There is only so much I can do after all, so it's worth the effort." He wished that he could do more, but he also knew his limitations and didn't mean to try to go racing passed them if it meant endangering others.

"Oh? You need to go? A shame, but I understand. I will be around, likely in the same areas I am always in." He worked hard and rarely tended to wander too far after all. Feeling Biroki bow Makani was quick to emulate the gesture, "It was good to meet you too, Biroki. Don't be a stranger."
