Skaeys Fallin - Construction - Material Gathering 10
"Dad, do you think they'd mind too much if I...borrowed some stuff?" Skae asked as he balanced on a tilted beam. He steadfastly ignored the life threatening drop below him. A little ways ahead Taldad perched on the same beam that Skae was playing on. The rustblood knew that if he fell Taldad would come swooping in under him and catch him. It was one of the reasons why he'd rigged the harness that the corvus wore. Too many close calls and an angry guardian had never made his fingers work faster. Taldad really didn't like having his feathers pulled out.
Taldad let out a mocking crow, the tail end of the sound lilting upwards. He bobbed his head and ruffled his feathers, tilting his head so that he could keep one eye on his charge, and the other out on the horizon.
"Yeah I know, but still. Half of this stuff if stuff we gathered. I mean, I'm dying to try to built some of the things I've seen them working on." Skae pouted as he carefully dropped down to his knees and flipped over so that he was hanging on to the beam with only his legs. Carefully he started to pry out the bolts that had been attached to something else at some point in time. "Okay! We're done, we can head back now."
All in all, Stryke had spent enough time in his own town that he felt useful. Reading and studying just so happened to be one of his favorite pass times to top it off. Sitting down with an old map, the yellow blood studied the details, and little notes scrawled out. Grabbing a pen, he quickly added his own little notes frowning when he realized that perhaps some kind of recent update with exact locations of the royalist camps would be helpful. This included several, but without actually exploring it felt incomplete. Unlike yesterday’s task he was much better suited to this intellectualized work. In fact he preferred it, as it was right up his alley.
If there was to be any kind of sneaking or spying, he didn’t want to do it on his own. However the amount of curiosity burning on the back of his mind was rather infuriating. Pursing his lips, Stryke sighed shaking his head slightly. No, it was too dangerous to go alone, what if he was caught? The studious troll gave pause, tapping his pen against one of the maps out lost in thought.

Ganyma opted, today, to learn from some of the veteran mentors in the camp. As much as he tried to pay attention and learn the intricacies of construction, it was all happening so fast. He needed time to repeat -- memorize. Everything around the rebel camp seemed life or death, with no room for error. He wasn't so sure he'd come back tomorrow - he felt the need to redeem himself by doing physical labor.

Odette stood around a table that was just short enough for her to peep her eyes over if she stood on her toes. She was good at that. Around her the larger teen rebels discussed matters between one another. They pushed pawns around makeshift markers on their map, some would shake their heads, and others got angry. Odette waited for an opening between the bickering.
She moved three of the pawns to an opening further south on the map. "Why not move through here?" She offered. "It's out of sight and there's less likelihood for injury." They stared at her and she blushed. "Oh, sorry if I overstepped my bounds!"
"Nah kid, nah. That's good, keep talking."

Skaeys Fallin - Construction (14) - Analyzing Blueprints
He'd been, well, shooed away from the group that was setting out to gather materials for the day. It was too large and might attract unwanted attention blah blah blah excuses excuses. It was a pity too, because Skae had brought some items from his hoard that he'd seen on the list just yesterday. Oh well, back into his pile they'd go.
But he had to do something to pull his weight.
A small commotion caught his attention, two adults in a heated discussion over a pile of color tinted papers. There was many gestures made between several sheets before the troll on the left picked up two and walked off. Skae waited a moment before sliding over to the remaining troll, who was back to muttering to herself. Cautiously he cleared his throat as he moved into her line of sight.
A quick glance at the female told him that she was a yellowblood who could just barely be considered yellow. She sighed heavily and pulled out one of the bottom blueprints. Without further fuss she started to teach him how to formally read a blueprint, smacking his hand when he pointed to the wrong thing as she quizzed him.
Zeffer had managed to tear his friend's attention away from the boring quiet stuff to the much more interesting explosion-related activities. "You have enough intelligence as it is. I came to blow some s**t up." He jeered, shoving playfully at his friend as he lead the way to the appropriate area.
Of course it was exactly what Zeffer wanted to do, being related to wrecking s**t. Hell, he even knew a bit about the layout of some parts of the city after his exploits during the winter Bloodfest.
Stuck inside tents was not how Lunear had planned to spend his you know, rebellion. He was thinking it would be a bit more glamorous, a bit more.. fighty? Fast paced? It wasn't. It was slow work and he was itching in how he was stuck. Nervousness crept into him as blue his blood would get him culled so fast if he was even anywhere near here and why didn't he just play the safe route this was bunk he was bunk and Batbro was calm and how could he (she) be so calm why-
He was told to go get information adnw hile yeah he went and did so getting that close to the royalists was doing nothing for his nerves.
"I don't think that's really the kind of intelligence they mean," came the retort and half-cocked smirk, eyebrows lightly creased into a vague look of curiosity, though he followed along without anything else that could be twisted as complaint. Of course he didn't mind tagging along with Zeffer of all trolls, a good friend and certainly a source of some kind of comfort considering how many trials they'd already faced together. Things hadn't gotten too serious yet, the rebellion was gearing up for whatever would be thrown its way in due time, and for now he felt relatively at ease.
While the blueblood knocked s**t down, quite literally, Aprife scouted around the wreckage of his exploits for salvageable goods. Despite the obviously worn down state of Old Hemisect, there were still plenty of things that could be gathered up and eventually reused, turned into something great. He thought that was pretty cool. "Hey, don't bust it up too much," he called with a laugh as he looked back over his shoulder to the next area Zeffer had chosen. They were making some progress and he was having some fun, that much was certain.
Another day spent analyzing and making use of himself with detailing out information. As reluctant as he'd been, Stryke admired the various details that had been collected so far. The realization dawned on him, he didn't want to remain passive forever. Would he spend his revolution hiding and going unnoticed?
Stryke would get things together, gather more information from around the local area and camp and help with material gathering. Tomorrow, he reasoned. He'd go out and look for Royalist information. Any details that could help the Rebels seemed worth the risk. He looked up from his musing. "I'll have to see what I can find..just sitting around isn't cutting it." He sighed, resting his chin in his palm getting back to work, assisting an older troll with materials and gathering supplies.
The piece of paper clutched in her hand was vital. Milieu felt proud to give it to the director, who hummed in happiness. "This partial map gives us an edge. Thanks, Mili. This'll be handy." Finally she had done SOMETHING right.
Rasali had been a shrill troll since the night she'd hatched, but it wasn't until now that she was really starting to feel the effects of her... self. It took a lot to dishearten Rasali, but the sheer force with which she was being blown off during her recruitment rounds were taking their toll. The rebellion was hard enough as it was without an extra blow to her self-esteem!
Rasali wasn't going to cry. She was going to pout, but she wasn't going to cry. Very much. Kappadad joined Rasali on her break and they sat together for a good long while. ]

Kursha noted the demolition teams going off with a pang of jealousy. The engineers had taken a break from manufacturing explosives as apparently they already had too many. Kursha was not sure how that was possible but in the meantime he deeply resented not being able to go and blow things up. Clearly he was being underestimated.
Since demolition was not an option, Kursha volunteered his services for intelligence. It was the obvious choice; construction was, as he had put before, 'drone work', and recruitment was for soft-hearted wigglers. At least while scouting he had a chance at getting some excitement. He might even get to observe some of the demolition progress!
The greenblood found himself laying across a rooftop, watching the city's activity through the scope from off his rifle. He had left the gun itself behind as walking around Old Hemisect armed seemed like a good way to attract unwanted attention. The Colonel roosted several buildings away, as silent as she had been for the last couple of days.

Another day like the day before...! Ganyma grunted. He wasn't having much success, even after leaving the confines of the encampment and going to assist in the construction of temporary housing. He couldn't get the confusing words, phrases, numbers, and details out of his head. He kept second-guessing himself, and worse he was losing his edge and it made him tired. Ganyma pledged to return to the intellectual side of construction tomorrow and conquer it.

Odette scanned the surrounding area once more, sweeping the streets from the rooftops above. She never realized how good if felt hopping from one building to the next, wind blowing through her tangled hair. She reached the end of the row of hives and took a moment to catch her breath. She was on the roof of a temporary occupation hivestem, one with a beachside view. Odette took a seat on the edge of the rooftop. She leaned on her knees with her elbows, hands cupping her face. She marveled at the moons and their reflection on the water. Alternia sure was beautiful when one took the time to notice.
