Staring at Kairatos's open hand, listening to his words, was somehow a breaking point for Zircon, and ugly tears began to well over her eyes. The captain buried her face into the bandana around her neck to hide, but there was no mistaking the muffled sounds of angry sobs from underneath. To Hell with whatever it meant to be a Captain of the Negaverse: Zircon needed this catharsis, and once the gates were open all of her hidden anger and bitterness brushed over her like the hot wind of Mars itself. It was too much to think about, to have a lifelong dream fulfilled on such bittersweet terms, to feel such camaraderie towards someone she should hate as a traitor.
Overwhelmingly, she felt just how unfair this all seemed to be.
The Captain's crying spell was over almost as soon as it began, and she blotted her eyes with her bandana, keeping her gaze low to the ground. "...Sorry, I'm a mess," she murmured, rubbing her arms to get rid of the achy feelings in her body. "I wish we'd had more time to stand together, too. I would have gladly served under General Realgar."
Smiling dimly, she let out a huff of a laugh, still glancing to the side. "I could have learned how to punch from the best."
