He felt like two different people - the dog of the Negaverse, that followed orders without question, that honestly and truly believed in the work they were doing, that was loyal and faithful to a cause that he had worked so hard towards - and the other person, husband to Failyn Namgung, metal worker and doting spouse to a woman he was madly in love with. They were both him, and yet Magiore had never before felt as conflicted as he did now.
But even with that conflict, he could not leave his wife and unborn child alone.
Failyn leaned forward, her lips against his, her words pressed against his mouth, and Magiore laced their fingers together, squeezing tightly, exhaling a breath that was lost within the kiss. When she pulled back, drawing his hands towards her midsection, he felt his heart skip a beat, palms flat against Failyn's stomach. There was hardly any bump there yet, since she was so early on, but he could almost feel it anyway; the thrum of life that lay beneath, and it took his breath away.
Magiore shifted, gently pushing on Failyn' shoulders so that he could push her down onto the couch. He bent over her, his face flushed, and gently nudged the hem of her shirt up, just enough that he could duck his head and press a kiss to her stomach, to the child that would one day be their own, feeling, for the first time, a strange sense of peace and longing to know who it was that was to be their son or daughter. Then he drew back and wrapped his arms around Failyn, curling up beside her and laying his head against her chest, his eyes falling shut.
"I will be happy as long as you and they are safe," Magiore murmured, one hand resting on her stomach. "I will be safe, my love. I will keep us all safe, all three of us. We are a family, and I will protect you with my life."

She made a small sound as she was pressed down, wondering just what her husband was up too when she felt the small lift of her shirt and the gentle kiss placed on their baby's home. She always feel her heart race, soar when she was with Magiore, by his small and large actions. By the words he said, and didn't have to say.
But in that moment, her heart was more then she could handle, her breath catching in her throat. she had never felt so loved, never felt love so deep, so thick and potent. It threatened to drown her, until she was sinking to the bottom so far deep, she wouldn't be able to think.
For the first time since the war started, she was happier then she could ever imagine to be. Loved, married, well taken care of, pregnant with a child who would be loved by both parents.
"You're my family." She reached up, running her hands through his hair and letting them lie there for as long as he wanted, needed. She'd go home soon, and she'd make a plan or something. But right now, she wanted the peace of them together. All three of them.
"I think it'll be a boy." She murmured, "With raven black hair like yours, and soft blue eyes like mine. I can feel it." She laughed, "He'd be so handsome, with your genes. And so charming. A little prince." her eyes twinkled, "Or it could be a girl. What would you name her? Him?" She laughed again, "What should we name our child Magiore?"

"Happy" was a strange word that did not quite fit all of Magiore's emotions, all of which were twisting and curling confusedly inside of his head and in his heart. There was the side of him that was overjoyed at the prospect of being a father; a part of him was equally terrified that he would be no good at it, and yet another part of him was worried about Failyn's health, if she would be able to have an easy pregnancy. Then of course there was the never ending pressure of both of their factions weighing down on them, making the air almost thick around him.
But as he felt Failyn's hands sift through his hair, her fingers gentle, her voice soft and as beautiful as he remembered it, he thought, even if it was only for a few moments now, that he could forget all of that and just lie here with his wife and his unborn child, as though the world around them did not exist.
"A family," Magiore murmured, fingers pressing lightly on Failyn's stomach. "We're a family. You and I and...this child. We're a family together."
It was strange and wonderful concept. Magiore let out a soft laugh that was partially muffled, as he'd turned his face against her chest, smiling. "I think she could be a little girl," he said softly. "A little girl with beautiful light hair and her mother's smile."
He shifted a little, stretching upwards to press a light kiss to the underside of Failyn's jaw, since he couldn't quite reach her mouth from this position. Then he lay back down, nudging his head into the space where her neck slid into her shoulder, absently smoothing a hand across her stomach.
"I like...Lacey for a girl," he said finally. "And Peter for a boy, but those are just names off the top of my head. What do you like, my love?"

"Yes Yes, our Family." She laughed, "Darling~ I feel you're still a little shell shocked." This always happened to her, she went from feeling terrible and worried, but with Magiore, she couldn't help but feel happy and joyful and playful and happy. so very happy.
"She'd be raised to be a fine young lady." Failyn sniffed a little bit snobbily, "Tea would fed to her from birth. Mind you not any of that store bought tea, loose leafs. Flavors of the world." She sniffed again, getting her high old lady act on. "Ballet and dances and silly things that I thought were important when I was younger." She let the act drop and laughed again. "I couldn't imagine a girl Magiore, What about when she gets a boyfriend.." Her hand fluttered up to her chest, "I don't think my heart could take it. Well either could I handle my son getting a girlfriend." she patted her heart again. "Oh my goodness, that so far ahead I'm thinking about it."
She let her hand fall back to his hair, running through it gently. "Lacey for a girl it is, Lacey Marie? Marie for my grandmother. Peter, oh how wonderful. Peter what?" she sighed softly, "Both wonderful names. Lacey is light and feminine and very lady like. Peter is a strapping strong name." She nuzzled her cheek against his hair, where his head laid.
