"I... dun think kissin' Alec... really works..." Preacher said slowly. She squirmed up on the bed next to Harper, propping herself up on one elbow. Harper was taller than her, and it was all legs. Guys liked that, didn't they? Her face fell for a second. "Kin ya keep a secret? ....'course ya can. Anyhoo, I kissed Alec earlier. As a test. N' I dunno - it didn't feel like nothin' special. Felt kinda gross. So that means that I ain't into kissin' jsut anyone, so that's good! So Alec does work, but...." Her voice lowered dramatically. It really was nice to talk about things involving someone other than herself. "Alec and Henrik - he's a big ol' rough-lookin' dude, ya wouldn't know 'im - but they got a thing goin' on, iffin ya catch m'drift." Sighing, she flopped back onto her back.
"So, uh, dun kiss other people's boys, Harper. Gotta find someone else ta smooch. Pick one of yer roomies or summat." Preacher hmphed loudly at Harper's assertion that Axel didn't like her. Axel didn't like anyone, and he was a b*****d that liked to play around with people. Or something. Her fingers clenched in the blanket. If anyone could make him see his way straight, it would be a nice, perfect girl like Harper. Not her. Never her. "I think he's jus' confused, Harper. Why would h ever invite ya ta dinner iffin her didn't like ya at least a lil? No man ever asks a girl ta dinner jus' 'cause. Ya keep that in mind. He might be a little... a lot bit dense, but ya kin win him over in tha... in the end." She swallowed a little uncomfortably and rolled over to face the wall. While her tone was light, cheerful, Preacher didn't think her expression was something she wanted Harper to see right now...

Harper could not even fathom kissing any of her roomies. Not a one of them. She considered them all friends, sure, but she didn't really know any of them. Maybe it was weird that not knowing them was the only reason she wouldn't consider kissing them. The fact that they were girls didn't even come into play.
"I didn't know that Alec had a boyfriend. I would have felt awful if I had gone to him for a kiss, so.. thank you, Preacher. For telling me."
When Preacher rolled away from her, Harper kind of rolled over to face Preacher's back. She studied Preacher's head for a long moment. Maybe she could win Axel over. Maybe he really did like her - but how would she know if she really liked him if she didn't at least try and kiss someone else?
Someone she knew? Trusted?
Someone like... uh...
"Preacher," Harper reached out to poke a slender finger against the other girl's shoulder. "Would you .. could I kiss you?"

"Yeah..." she said slowly. "I told ya I kissed Alec too n' I thought Henrik was a-gonna pop m'head off." She giggled, even though she was kind of reallym, extremely, maybe, torn about this whole Axel thing. Suddenly, Harper poked her. Preacher squirmed, but flipped over abruptly at Harper's question, all of her mullish, negative thoughts washed away by surprise. She looked at Harper. Harper, who even though her eyes were swollen and red, was still pretty. Harper, who was so very nice.
Why not?
"Alrigh'. I mean, why not? I certainly trust ya too." She smiled at Harper, not her usual, crooked, cocky grin, but just a small smile. Despite Preacher having had experience flirting with girls (it helped sometimes to get free food), she'd never kissed one. Well, there was a first time for anything. With a breathless giggle, she pushed Harper in the shoulder, knocking her over onto her back. In one quick, lithe movement, Preacher straddled the other girl. It was an odd position, she thought, but not bad. She grinned at Harper and laid one hand alongside her cheek.
"Here goes nothin'." And she leaned down and kissed her.

Harper wasn't expecting Preacher to hop aboard, and she really wasn't sure where to put her hands. For lack of ideas, she merely left her hands on the mattress, fingers curled inwards to form loose fists. She didn't think she'd ever seen Preacher smile the way she did, and it was a nice smile, a pretty smile. A smile Harper wouldn't mind seeing more often, if she were being honest. Preacher's hand on her cheek was nice, and it was.. pretty wonderful being kissed by someone who actually wanted to kiss her.
The kiss was nothing spectacular; closed mouthed and pretty quick as far as kisses go. Harper let loose a nervous giggle when the kiss broke, her violet eyes seeking out Preacher's golden ones.
"It's nice," she whispered softly, immediately clearing her throat. "Kissing you is nice, just like kissing Axel. What do you.. what does that mean?"

Kissing her was just like kissing Axel? Harper's giggle was infectuous and Preacher giggled too. "Man, I dunno 'bout that. He's a man n' I imagine he's got whiskers n' a strong jaw n' stuff. He ain't soft like us girls." She poked Harper in the cheek. But the other girl was right; it had felt nice. It wasn't as crazed as when she kissed Axel, but it definitely wasn't like kissing Alec which had just been awkward and awful and somehow kind of slimy. Although, the slimy part might have just been that lakewater. Regardless, it had not been pleasant.
"I dun know what that means, but maybe... we should do it again? Experiments gotta keep on bein' tested, ya ken?" Preacher leaned down again and rubbed her lips across Harper's, then giggled, then kissed her.

Well, Harper had to admit, girls were much softer than boys were. Much, much softer, and without whiskers, too. And Preacher's lips were different than Axel's were - but they'd both been really nice to kiss.
When Preacher dipped down again for another kiss, Harper squeezed her eyes shut. It was another very nice kiss, a little longer, more drawn out. Yes, kissing girls was nicer than kissing boys, but boys had those nice shoulders and lean hips. Then again, girls were so soft and --
Harper broke the kiss and wet her lips, a blush high on her cheeks.
"We should go to sleep," her voice was a soft, soft whisper. She felt like she was trembling, and Harper held her breath while she waited for Preacher to respond.

Preacher wrinkled her nose in amusement. "I a-guess we should. Today been a bit too much excitement." She smacked Harper noisily on the cheek, mainly because she could, giggled again, and rolled off of the girl. Kissing Harper had been fine; she was very soft and very sweet. But it didn't make her burn for more or feel confused. It was light, airy, and felt as though it could pop at any moment. Fairy floss. Preacher had eaten the stuff once, when Dollface had nicked some for her, and it had tasted just like this.
"Anyway, Harper, mebbe you should should find some nice girls as well as Axel to kiss on. Real sweet-like." Preacher stretched and made a sleepy noise. The tension that stretched her was forgotten for now, and exhaustion rode on her like a heavy cloak. She faced Harper and made a face. "Ya-" yawn "- deserve right nice things n' nice people, Harper. Dun let anybody get ya down, mmmk?" Reaching out a hand, she poked her cheek again, then rubbed a thumb along her tear stains. Suddenly, that hand relaxed and fell. Preacher was asleep.
