"I admit its purely the counter guys advice. I was looking at price for a quality drink." There was a pause and he offered a weak smile. "I bought it for you. No sense to keep it to myself. Drinking alone isn't any fun anyway." He suspected Jordan might feel otherwise about that or agree. It was hard to say.
Slipping into the booth he ignored the phone instead trying to read Jordan's face under the hoods cowl before glancing back to the party. "I might have one or two. Make sure I make it back to mg dorm? You know how drinks on the island can be."

"I appreciate it." Jordan hesitated, gave Ro a slightly cautious look. "If I'm here," he said. "I took leave. I'm not going to be staying long, and I'm headed to the portals after this." He half-smiled, apologetic. "If you're hanging around, I'm sure someone will give you a hand."

Roland glanced at his phone as well checking the time, very aware he had said something wrong but not sure why or how so he simply grew quiet using the excuse of a phone again. "Well that sounds great, getting out of the island's always good," a hand waved lazily side to side, "Don't worry about me, it's a lame joke." Resting a bit more in the booth he looked around a bit.
"I think, if I had leave, I'd go somewhere in China, like on the wall. But an abandoned part.... I've heard they can look amazing and with our weapons exploring them wouldn't be dangerous at all."

"I'm probably going to Australia. Haven't been there yet, I thought I'd see what it's like." Jordan absently rubbed at Ferros's ring, lapsing into silence again. After a moment he said quietly, "I'm not good company right now. Sorry."

A bar opening... and a wedding. A wedding surprisingly not involving Jordan. He still hadn't had a chance to talk to his friend about what had happened, but there would be time for that, Jerry figured. He stood in the doorway of the new pub with a mixture of emotions on his face. A pub on the island... It was either a blessing or a curse. He was dressed in one of his remaining brown suits with his least worn button-up shirts, his hair combed carefully and his guitar strap gripped tightly in his hands. It seemed they weren't serving drinks just yet- he gave a sigh of relief. He'd cross that bridge when he got there, but in the meantime he scanned the few people who had already arrived, his face lighting up at the sight of Jordan, relieved Roland was keeping him company at least, still scanning for Rep or Harrison to wish them his best when his eyes fell on the jukebox. He couldn't look away. There was a jukebox on the island. Before he could say hello to anyone, the scruffy Sun Hunter made a bee line for the runic contraption, tears in his eyes as he obsessively made to read through the entire song list. Quote: GIFT: The gift of song. It will come.

Harrison was at the bar. He was just hiding in the back. Not because he was worried, but because of Rep. He knew the tradition was usually for brides, and that sure as hell didn’t describe either of them, but maybe it was the context. Seeing each other like it was the first time, ala Madonna, or whatever. Or maybe Rep was actually going to show up in a dress.
Harrison bought the suit for his wedding almost half a year ago. He’d picked out the fabric in Thailand, and had it done custom for 100 US. It wasn’t pricey designer s**t, but it fit, and after the first suit had gotten ruined on a ghost ship cruise he kept this one safe in the back of the closet. It was the one item of clothing that was off-limits from borrowing, and exempt from formal wear missions.
When he took it out, it was with a certain amount of reverence.
He watched twitter, which had a few congratulations on it. He watched the clock. They hadn’t set a time, exactly, neither of them were wedding planners. And he knew whatever they did wouldn’t count in most places. They were legally dead. But you couldn’t ask for a better location than the mystical island of Avalon.
He texted Rep.

"Warm, good beaches probably, I hear if you leave town you should be prepared since it's a good few hours between places sometimes." There was another lapse and the two simply sat.
Jordan broke the silence first and Roland only shook his head a bit, "No, don't apologize, I should be the one saying that after the last time we spoke...I umm... usually have been trying to avoid you out of embarrassment."
There was another pause and slowly Roland moved to get out of the table, "You remember, what you first told me on the island? About finding a reason to live?" He was adjusting his sleeves as he spoke avoiding eye contact. "Even if the reason isn't one or two someones... there's a lot of people that still care about you, and people I care about, that's why I keep coming back, even after, Nevada."
He turned to look at Jordan with a small sad smile, "Have fun down under, give me a call when you get back and I'll bring you you're gift alright."

Jordan looked up again, caught a little off guard, his carefully controlled expression softening with an edge of gratitude. "Thanks, man," he said, and didn't try to smile, aware that it wouldn't look right. "I'll remember that. Have fun, okay? I'm -- trying not to bring the mood down."

Roland checked his phone one last time, Jordan's face shifted slightly, it wasn't a smile but it was good enough for him. "More then welcome." He started to walk away turning around waving farewell before spinning about to keep wandering the party.

Rep was pleased to see that Jerry had found the jukebox and also pleased that he'd hidden the power cord for the duration of the ceremony. He'd had the other man in mind when he'd made music one of the priorities for the bar, he'd even gone out of his way to get a digital one that worked with mp3 players and ipods because so many people had them on the island and runiced already. The other Sun hunter got a wave and a grin before Rep's phone buzzed.
Receiving the text, Rep eyed his phone, still suffering from a complete case of the jitters. He nodded before realising Harrison couldn't ******** see him nod and then texted back.
He really was as ready as he'd ever be. He'd tried to hit up as many of the old traditions as possible, down the something old (killzone's friendship bracelet) something new (mints from the vending machine that morning) something borrowed (one of his many many stolen objects from around the facility) and something blue (the gemstone at his throat). He was even wearing a sprig of heather on his jacket because that was good luck too.
Hovering next to the computer setup and B0nez, he wrung his hands anxiously.
Tracey on the other hand was completely relaxed, up and about, sauntering around the bar with an air of poise and grace, heralded by the clank of armour and rustle of feathers as he went.
He brought Jordan a glass of water and a packet of roast salted peanuts, just because he was feeling generous.

Jordan looked up when someone else approached the table and blinked once, startled, when he saw who it was. "Thanks," he said quietly, accepting the glass and putting the packet down without opening it yet. He'd expected Tracey to be here, but hadn't expected him to come anywhere near them. In his head, Ferros sighed; the dragon's longing made his chest ache, powerful and melancholy.

Tracey rapped the table with his claws - always an impressive display considering he had ten digits on each hand - and gave Jordan a meaningful look. "I would like to have a talk with you after the main event is over, if it is agreeable to you." The way it was said implied it was non negotiable. "In the meantime darling, enjoy those nuts." And giving Jordan a sassy wink, he headed back to make sure B0nez wasn't messing anything up, still sporting the strange iguana tail Marie always resulted in in his golem form.
When he reached B0nez he deliberately poked him in the shoulder and asked. "Ready to be married?" Because it didn't get old.

Al shuffled about behind the bar, giving everything one last glancing over and then polish. Everything had to be pristine for the reception. The boss was getting married and this was a big deal. A humongous massive huge over the top deal. He didn't get the duty he wanted, but anything was better than nothing and so he took his anything very seriously.
He had a gift for the couple, but that would be for later. Once the rush and buzz settled down into a quiet hum.
He paused his self-imposed chore to scope out the attendees. Some faces he still has not seen before, he clearly doesn't get out much.

Jordan stared after Tracey as the fallen angel swept away. A talk. He didn't know what to expect, but the request put a sinking feeling in his gut. He resisted the urge to put his head down on the table and hoped silently that whatever it was wouldn't take too long. It was going to be awkward. Any conversation he had today with anyone he knew was going to be awkward, but this he was absolutely not looking forward to.

B0nez nearly leaped a mile.
He scrambled to recover the wire nest he had been working on, and leaned as far away from the set of claws as he could, scowling.
"We are not," he sniffed, "getting married. Okay. Look it's like, my avatar and your avatar- it's not for real and I am not your boilfriend."
He looked over for help. Jordan looked like he was drowning in misery (B0nez could practically see the grim status of lost dating sim points hovering over his head) and Rep was texting.
"I could have had a double bonus," he complained, on high alert for personal space invasions. "It's not hard okay. Why is this even coop. You're like, deliberately sabotaging me here it's like the options are - give dead flowers. Tell them their outfit is scary. Listen. Put on block/try to kill and you always pick the last one."
