Salem was standing near enough to Freak for the vile veteran to hock a loogie at "The Copperhead", causing the ire in the fans' boos to grow even louder as the emergency personnel rushed down the ramp. Salem, meanwhile, had suddenly lost sight of the possible injury he'd done to the official and instead developed a serious case of tunnel vision, seeing Freakshow like a deer caught in his fast-approaching headlights. With a snarl, he'd suddenly rush forward, looking to land the bottom of his boot against the side of the sniveling scum's skull!

Generally speaking the result of spitting at another individual can be easily predicted. Especially when within kicking distance of said individual. Freak, aware of this, crosses his forearms up over his head. The actual protection it provides is minimal. The force of the strike sends the blonde rolling backwards. His momentum directed towards the corner, he leans back against the middle turnbuckle, trying to shake the cobwebs as medical personnel work at the lock.

Salem was less concerned with the crew trying to crack into the cage and more so with channeling his inner "Texas Rattlesnake" and stomp out a mudhole in Freak's a** as he cowered in the corner. Thus, "The Copperhead" continued pursuing the ailing athlete on amphetamines, looking to grab the ropes and start mashing Freak like a sack of potatoes with vicious kicks to the crowd's approval!

"Ugh..." Freakshows vision began to unblur itself just in time to see the hazy figure Croft making a beeline straight for him. Operating on a level of cognition simultaneously distorted and sharp the shrewd veteran launches himself forward towards Salem, aiming to grab the rage blinded man by the tights and fall back with the intention of leveraging him face first into the turnbuckles.

Salem was moving fast, quick, and in a hurry, but Freakshow aimed to derail the former champ's speed by driving his dome into the turnbuckles with a pull on the pants! Catching himself with a quick grab of the ropes, though, Salem stared down at his opponent with a sick smile, the crowd popping with an "OOH!" as "The Copperhead" let go of the cables, trying to drop an elbow onto the top of Freak's dome!

Freakshow looks up at Croft only to be met with a swift elbow smash upside the head. The veteran, who was just in the process of getting back up, drops right back down onto his a**, seeing stars. The only logical thing for the mustached semi-retiree was guard his dome and pull his knees up over anything vital. As this happens several paramedics spill in through the door and into the ring, collectively far too concerned with the mortality of their friend to close the linked entrance behind them.

Freak was curling up into a fetal position, fearing the wrath that Salem was about to release upon him in this match that was a year in the making. The crowd was getting hot, Salem straightening back up to grab hold of the ropes once again in preparation for doing the Melbourne Shuffle on Freakshow's face...but before he could throw a boot down, Salem's balance was thrown off by the bodies squeezing between the ropes to care for the downed official, distracting "The Copperhead" a moment as he waited for them to all enter the ring.

Freakshow, aware of the EMT's presence or not, senses the lack of boots on his face and makes the assumption that something must be amiss. In exploitation of his fact, Freak, knees drawn up to his chest as one would in the womb, places his foot against the solar plexus of Croft and extends hard. Not to kick, but to shove. A shove that if successful would leave one of the paramedics in the line of fire. A perfectly natural reaction made perfectly malicious by the presence of yet another innocent bystander.

Salem's delay in dealing with the task at hand proved just enough of an opportunity for Freakshow to capitalize, kicking Croft across the ring and sending "The Copperhead" square into the pile of paramedics tending to the fallen official! Catching himself against the security guard who'd cracked open the cage, Salem straightened up and composed himself before turning his attention back towards the corner, looking for where Freak was!

Freakshow by nature found himself again outside of the ring. With his back up against the apron he pants, trying to make sense of everything that'd just happened in the past few moments. As he formulates the skeleton of his game plan his eyes dart backwards to the ring, then to the door. Swallowing the elusive veteran unevenly staggers towards the entrance. "Yes.." The Marauder had miraculously cleared the confines of the cage. It had either been all a part of a masterful, spontaneously constructed plan, or dumb luck. Those who knew best assumed the latter. Wanting to insure his safety, Freak turns around to try shutting and locking the door behind him.

Salem was too late to stop Freak from slipping out the ring and slithering towards the door, but he'd sure have something to say about the wily weasel trying to lock "The Copperhead" up inside the cell! Sprinting towards the ropes nearest the cage door, Salem would soar off the second rope with a springboard, looking to straighten his body out in mid-air and dropkick the swinging steel slab right into the Marauder's face!

As he fiddles frantically with the lock Freak soon finds his cranium inexplicably smacked up against the metal mesh door. Freakshow, in his immense pain, had several questions. How did this happen? Who did it? How did he even get out of the cage in the first place? He couldn't remember. Sprawled out on the bottom of the ramp the Marauder refuses to allow any sort of agony to thwart his escape. In a reduced state of animal confusion, Freak first begins crawling then ambling awkwardly up on his feet in the area of the gorilla position.

Despite leaping from the ropes to the ringside floor, Salem stirred quickly upon landing on the mats and looked around for where Freakshow had wandered. In a disoriented state, the ring general was showing his expertise by trying to run away - or hobble, as it were - back up the ramp to escape his impending a**-kicking, but Salem was shuffling out the cell and after him in hot pursuit! The crowd encouraged "The Copperhead", cheering him on as he went after the bumbling b*****d!

On top of the ramp the villain finds himself. Unconsciously he staggers off towards the side, perhaps wanting to use the crew exit instead of the wrestlers exit for reasons having at least something to do with Matt Shanahan. Unable to much control his momentum after getting nailed in the face with a door, Freak stops himself just short at the edge of the stage. He stands there, bleary eyed and confused. It was a bit longer of a drop than he had anticipated. "Aw.. Aw hell.." He slurs, staring down at the electrical equipment. "Uuuuh.." Slowly he turns around.

Salem was much more fresh than his opponent at this point, clearly in better shape and well-limbered now that he's had a chance to stretch out during Freakshow's incessant evasions. Thus, it didn't take very long for Salem to scale the ramp, dashing across the stage to where his opponent presently stood contemplating his current circumstances. "The Copperhead", meanwhile, was coming up behind him like a snake stalking in the grass, trying to catch Freak's arm as he turned around so he could drag the veteran into a knee to the gut!
