Ha, that's what he thought. Aiden watched as each boot connected and each stomp made a mark on his target. Jake was left with no other option, and he took it. Retreat. Soon, Jake had rolled under the bottom rope and was regaining himself against one of the barricades in the sand around the ring. Aiden saw this as not only a retreat, but a possible chance to add more flair to his abilities from usage of the top rope itself. Stepping back until he was at the center of the ring, Aiden would wait a few seconds, then dash towards the turnbuckle to Jake's left, Aiden's right. One foot leapt onto the middle rope, the other leapt onto the top. Once he had found his balance, Aiden launched himself off the top rope, hoping to land an airborne body splash. Otherwise, he'd be in a world of hurt. Badly.

In high school, Jake always played the defensive line; he was a big, strong body that could disrupt offenses, and it made up for his inability to catch. However, those accolades would contradict himself as Roman was unable to stop Aiden's risk-taking maneuvers, thus sending him crashing to the mat with Aiden on top of him. Despite his arrogance, some fans felt obligated to cheer for the aerial display that the high-flyer was putting on early.

There was two ways that this move could land. Either, Aiden would collide with Jake and they would both go down. Or, Jake would sidestep and Aiden would be eating the unforgiving metal of the barricade. Luckily for him, Jake took the hit. Man collided with man and both frame were dropped onto the mat next to the ring. Sand from around the mat obviously blowing upwards due to the mat being placed on uneven ground. After all, this was a match, like every match, held on the beach. The only real thing that seemed to be stationary and perfectly aligned, was the ring itself. Either way, Aiden would roll after landing and take a second to recoup before slowly making his way to his feet. He'd take a few steps back, take a breather, then take two steps forward in an aim to pick Jake up. Gauging from how his eyes were looking at the barricade, that just might come into play sooner than later.

Jake was brought to his feet; this time, he didn't have quite the mindset to go for another clothesline attempt this time. He, like Aiden, needed time to recover after he was sent crashing into the... sandy beaches. Some sand was stuck to his back from the sweat serving as an adhesive, and for now, the tides of war had shifted into Covell's favor. It was hard being a ring general when you were being sent to the outside by the speed demon himself.

Glancing down at his chest, sand specks had adhered to his pectoral muscles and his abs. Clearly either due to the pressure his body had weighted down on the sandy mat. Or, simply due to the sunscreen keeping his skin from burning in the hot sun. Speaking of the sunlight, that s**t was STILL beaming down in full rays. Anyway, Aiden exchanged glances between the steel steps, and the barricade. Which one would do more damage, which one he could avoid getting hurt from more and which would be a good tide turner. So far, the steel steps seemed to be the best estimate for such an early display of dominance so far. Gripping onto the back strap of leather that was Jake's belt threaded through his shorts, Aiden put a bit of emphasis and aimed to toss Jake right into the steps. However Jake landed, or if Jake managed to dodge, that would be entirely up to fate.

The bad shoulder took some ownership in costing Jake his pair of losses, so risking re-injury by being sent crashing into the steel steps was not an option in his mind that he was willing to accept. But it was forced upon him, unfortunately, as Roman's shoulder connected with the steel steps, which put them on their side and left the Kid wincing in pain on the shores of Miami beach.

The thud of Jake's body hitting those very steel steps and the collision of metal hitting metal.. Oh did it sound beautiful. For Aiden to target that shoulder again, that was just a low blow in itself .One he'd most likely easily pay for later. Jake had already took Aiden's pride by making him tap out. Jake had already pinned Aiden once with a near neck-breaking finisher. Well, Aiden mastered a new finisher over the weeks that he had been perfecting with a trainer. An explosive kick that would come from absolutely nowhere. Now that he had a new weapon in his arsenal, as well as his Face Off finisher, Aiden was golden. Walking over to the area where Jake was now leaned against the steps wincing in pain, Aiden would capitalize. Making his way over to the other side of the steel steps, Aiden would go for a quick low dropkick onto the steps to kick them right against Jake.

A vast majority of fans weren't aware of this, but the bottom of the steel steps were sharp. The edges went against the side of Jake's torso and sliced him with it's momentum, drawing blood for the first time in the most unlikely of places: Jake's arm, connected to the shoulder that had limited his potential. It had seemed ever since his promise of sending Aiden's teeth down his throat, the big man could not even get his hands on the innovative Covell. Fans "ooh"ed at the sight of blood, as the cameras caught Jake on his back, covering a part of the gash that was now carved down his bicep. Hopefully he wouldn't have to worry about any infections from rolling around in the sand.

Bloodshed already? Well now. Jake certainly wasn't in the best shape at this point. At least the cut was located on the bicep and not the back. That would have been worse. But at the same time, it's still just as bad. The referee was bitching at both men to get into the ring and by now, the count would have been at the number six. So between focusing on Jake and not giving a s**t, Aiden forgot this wasn't a Normal Rules match as he intended. He was told that this would be a Normal Rules match days ago. But knowing Jake, he could have had the match type changed without Aiden knowing. Aiden gave the ref an annoyed look as he knelt down to gather Jake to his feet. Hoping Jake would comply and allow himself to be pushed into the ring despite there not being a need for count outs or really any rules from the looks of it.

It was a mutual agreement between both men that they didn't wanna be on the outside of the ring anymore. Jake already had his blood smeared across his arm and on the mat from rolling into the ring with assistance from Covell. Roman gathered himself to his hands and knees for the time being, looking for a few moments of peace so he could push himself up to his feet. But he knew his opponent was unlikely to give him that free time; it wouldn't be in Aiden's best interest, after all.

With no resistance, Aiden rolled Jake into the ring and took his time rounding the ring to ascend the opposite side steel steps. Just to waste time and catch a breath or two. As the ref began to badger Jake about his cut, Aiden walked the apron and stepped through the middle and top rope to enter the ring. Once inside, Aiden made his way over to Jake as the ref backed up. Gauging his next attack based upon how Jake would get up or set himself on all fours. Jake deciding to get up to his feet presented Aiden with a few options to tee off against the guy for the time being. Why bother grappling up when Jake's body was still relatively fresh. Plus, Aiden still had to target Jake's leg. With his arms in front of him and fingers open to look as if he were going to execute a lock-up, Aiden went to try for some low kicks. to Jake's left leg.

The pace was becoming slower and slower. Perhaps Aiden had winded himself a bit by showing only a glimpse of his wide variety of moves early on. Perfect. A couple kicks connected and almost took Jake off his feet from the constant sting. They almost brought Jake down, but this time, the Kid adamantly refused. The big man caught Aiden's legs one of his attempts and went to build some momentum of his own by putting his free hand on Covell's chest and pushing him up in the air, hoping to take him back down with a unique yet powerful spinebuster.

Well, it just goes to show. Can't be cocky all the time. Aiden felt that with all this offense he's been building, perhaps Jake didn't bring his A-Game. Maybe, just maybe, Jake didn't do his research. Perhaps, Jake did no such thing when it came to watching the 'tale of the tape' and doing his homework. Well, clearly that was disproved. Jake took control once he grabbed ahold of Aiden's leg, brought Aiden closer to him and lifted him up into the air. Only to send Aiden crashing back down onto the mat with one hell of an effort and a nicely executed spinebuster. Holding his arms to his sides, Aiden arched his back a bit. That landing sure as hell wasn't comfortable.

The crowd was now cheering, seeing the gap close between Aiden's advantage and the beating Jake was taking only moments prior to the spinebuster. Without wasting any time, Jake went fort he first pinfall attempt of the match, with a slight glimmer of hope that he could pull the rug out from beneath Aiden's feet and win. It didn't matter if the match would end "prematurely" in other's eyes, Roman wanted to win and going for the cover after such a spontaneous display of power could do just that for the big guy.

One!
Two!
Kickout! Not yet. Not yet Jake. Aiden had put all his strength into putting an arm up and breaking the pinfall count as fast as he could. Maybe not as fast seeing it was a two count after all, but fast enough. There was still so much more for these guys to give in this match and a simple spinebuster wasn't gonna' put Aiden down. It put him on his a**, but didn't put him down. It'd earned Jake a two count, but not enough to get to a three. Aiden now looked to try and army crawl his way to the nearest ring ropes.
