Makani nodded his head, "Yeah, it probably bored her to tears but there wasn't really anyone else to ask. Borra doesn't really sit still and can you imagine trying to get Gyuri to read multiple books out loud?" He gave a bit of a chuckle at the mental image that thought provided him, "No, that would probably just end up with a really quiet guy starring at a blind guy, we would get no where fast of that I am certain. Eira was the only one to ask though it took a bit to get through the books." There was always so many other things going on, troupe stuff and war stuff, that was more important to his sister. He couldn't blame her, she wasn't a mage after all she was a troupe leader, and any help had been welcome at the time.
Anything further he might have said was forgotten as Sin'qua suddenly caught hold of his hands and dragged him forward, drawing a squeak of surprise from him. He tilted his head to one side, a look of confusion on his face, as when started to go on about how she would read them again to him. A refresher course of sorts? Oh, since she had to read them anyway she was offering to read them out loud then so that they could really get good at it? Giving a smile and a nod he said, "That sounds nice. I am sure if we read them together then we could practice the spells as we go as well. That was most certainly not something that Eira could do."
Eira read to him and then Makani practiced in his spare time, to be able to read and practice with a fellow magic user, it was a rather enjoyable thought. They were sure to do really well that way! Giving her hand a squeeze he said, "I think that it will be good for both of us to try it out that way. The more practice we do the better I feel." He really did need to practice casting a lot faster after all, this would help him to do that.

Listening as he rattled off the names of the people he had thought about asking to read to him she felt her heart sink a bit. He hadn't thought about asking her? Alright so she hadn't really been apart of the troupe prominently before and it wasn't until recently that she wanted to really learn but she had to wonder what he thought of her....
"Ah yeah...we can practice as much as you want." She managed slowly her enthusiasm and anger quickly cooling due to the fact that she felt nervous suddenly.
"...Makani why...why didn't you ask me to read to you?" Sin'qua finally mustered up the courage to ask, though she had really wanted to ask him what he thought of her she couldn't find the nerve. So still holding onto his hand tightly she walked, even if she had no clue where the books were she didn't really want her impulse decision to go away so quickly.

Makani smiled, "Alright, I know that I could be better at my casting. Of late the only thing I have used my magic for is healing, I know that is a good thing, it's what my first teacher wanted me to focus on instead of destruction, but at the same time I really want to be able to use my magic to protect people too." He said, flexing his free hand for a moment, "It will take a lot of practice though before I could even attempt that." He knew he'd never be called to fight, would likely always be in the healing tents, and truth he told he was fine with that. It was safer for everyone involved.
"Hm?" Tilting his head to one side at the question he seemed to think on it, then gave a bit of a smile, "Well, I figure with as often as Eira is bugging you about... well, most things, that it might annoy you if I started bugging you for stuff as well. I kind of figured between Eira and your own brother that your probably have your hands full." Sin'qua seemed to end up as sort of a babysitter for them, trying to keep Borra from running off and keeping Eira in check, she probably had little free time to herself or so he had always assumed.

Sin'qua risked a glance in Makani's direction, she felt herself looking at him with less aggression than she had moments before. He had...considered her feelings which was why he hadn't asked her. Some part of her felt her heart skip a beat before she tugged Makani forward in a more gentle fashion.
"Ah...yeah I guess I am pretty busy looking after those two..." She managed after another awkward silence. "But...I would much rather help you out.." Sin'qua managed with a slight nod of her head. "After all ...besides Gyuri you're the only sane one in the bunch." Even she needed a break from the two morons....more breaks from them would be better.
"Are we close to where the books are?" She asked as she realized she had begun to lead him..and wasn't really sure where they were going.

Makani couldn't help but to smile, "Well then, I am glad to hear that you think I am among the few sane people in our group, thank you Sin'qua." It really was nice of her to say and he was sure that Gyuri might be happy to hear it as well since she'd included the giant in those few people. Falling into a comfortable silence Makani allowed Sin'qua to lead him along before she was suddenly asking him if they were close to where the books were. He let his magic spread out a little further then normal when just walking around before he nodded his head, "Yeah, not to far now from where all of our stuff is tucked away for safe keeping." It was nice of those in the village to given them a place to stash things and keep them safe from everything that was going on around them he thought to himself. He lifted a hand to point, "Over there." He said, then moved to take the lead, bringing her to where his bag was waiting for him. Even if it was his stuff he doubted very highly that he'd be able to find this place on his own, not if it weren't for the fact that he had been here so many times already for various reasons. The dwelling looked and felt like most of the others in Neued after all. It was due to repetitive trips here that Makani knew how to find the place, "Alright! Here we are." He said, giving a smile and a nod as they came to stand in front of the place that their stuff was being kept and, on occassion when he had time, a place that Makani liked to go to take naps. It was hard to sneak in sleep when he ended up busy with healing duties after that last battle their soldiers were in but it was worth it. Sleep could be hard to come by after all. Starting toward the entrance he said, "Do you want to read inside or outside? I am fine either way."

The young ice tribe woman looked to where they were headed. Small homes were about the area and when he pointed to where they needed to go and then lead them forward she still clung to his hand like a small child may. Once there however her hand was quick to drop his. Her face betrayed her surprise at the suggestion he offered. The idea of being alone with Makani inside was enough to make her flustered, and thus she quickly shook her head and then reminded herself that he couldn't see that.
"Ah...no outside is fine. The weather is nice after all." She managed with a slow nod of her head. "I can carry them if you want me to. You pick out where we should go."

The weather was nice? He tilted his head back for a moment, then gave a nod. He supposed so, a little on the warm and muggy side but that seemed to be Jauhar in a nutshell. It was nicer then home though, better he supposed to shed a few layers then have to hide under a mountain of warm blankets and furs. Giving a smile he started forward into the dwelling, seeking out his pack which was leaned against one of the walls, and he knelt down in front of it. After opening the bag he reached inside, taking the books out one at a time, running his thumb along the spine of the books until he found the one he was looking for. Once he had it in hand he tucked the others away, "This is the good on the very basics, feeling for magical energy, gathering it to you to use for different spells, things like that. It's the best place to start." He explained to Sin'qua, so that she would know what knowledge the book contained.
"Hm? Pick where we should go?" He asked, then seemed to be thinking about it a moment before nodding, "Over in this direction then, I know of a nice place we can sit for a while to read." He said, leading her a short distance from the troupe's place to a circle of stones that the Shifters had set up, ones that were flattened out on top and good for sitting on. He settled down onto one of the wider stones, knowing that it would give Sin'qua room to sit down as well without either of them being uncomfortable, before he held the book out to her, "Shall we?"

Sin'qua was sure that her face would be a permanent shade of red, after all it felt like she was all hot and bothered like she had a fever. Swallowing as he led them to a place where they could sit and gather information she felt the words in her throat stick for a moment as a book was offered to her.
Reaching forward she brushed against his fingers and almost dropped the book she meant to take from him.
"Ah..yes we shall start with this one? " moving she went to sit beside him although making sure they were not too close together. Letting her hand glide over the leather binding she then flipped it open and scanned the first few lines.
"To use magic.."
