Axel gleed at the cry of pain, and he saw those chains move again; not willing to relinquish his grip he ignored them, and though he felt nothing, his tail twitched and lost hold, which made the Demi of terror pout. "Aww, tail no wanna grab..." He frowns more and shrugs, instead swinging it to try and slap Zarith across his already damaged face. HP: 13

HP: 11It was a relief when the clawed tail released his head. Zarith still had not uncovered his face, and he did not have to. His ghost lights whispered to him, telling him where Axel was and what he was doing. Unfortunately it was taking Zarith too long to get the hang of following their directions. He felt the slap of the tail, and he was sent reeling. Zarith stumbled and fell to his knees. His wings flared brightly, then faded out of sight as his chain swept upwards to try and crack across Axel's chest.

Axel had a hard time taking any fight seriously, but as the chains smacked him yet again, he started trying to formulate a plan to avoid them. "I'm gonna have some funny-looking imprints on me!" he sniggers, as he swoops in and aims a kick at the kneeling ghosty's face, right under his chin. HP: 10

HP: 7He really couldn't get the hang of this. He couldn't manage to move quickly enough. Axel's foot kicked him square in the chin, and he went down. Falling to the rocky grounnd, Zarith was only slightly ashamed by the fact he curled up into a fetal position. His chains unwound from each other and two of his ghost lights attempted to swarm into Axel's face to try and blind him. At the same time the unwound chains flailed at Axels tail once more.

Axel grinned as ghosty went down and curled up. Then..the little lights that he'd barely paid attention flew into his face and he tried to bat at them. "Hey, get away, this is our fight, not yours little glowy things!" He felt something against his tail and realized it wouldn't move and he pouted. "Quit cheating, why can't you fight me yourself!" he yells, and moves forward to try and stomp down on Zarith's side, hoping to crack a rib or two at the very least. "Get up!" HP: 6

HP: 5 The ghost lights darted away from Axel when he shooed them and resumed hovering around Zarith. He was still reeling from the pain he felt. Fear gripped him. Instead of getting up, he curled into a tighter ball. He felt Axel kick at his ribs, but his position helped lessen the severity of the blow. Shaking violently he started to push himself to his knees. "I..am.." He gasped as the chains withdrew. He didn't need to explain himself. He took one bloody hand from his face, but kept one covering his eyes. Zarith grasped his chain and with the whispers of his ghost lights to guide him, he snapped his chain at Axel

Axel was getting peeved, and it wasn't normal for him. He didn't hurt of course, but he was starting to feel tired. He knew the signs of him getting close to passing out or at least his body giving out, even if he couldn't feel the pain. And in his anger he didn't avoid the next lash, taking those across his knees, which then gave out. "Oof," he mumbles as he is suddenly on the ground, and growling, grips his jackknife again, trying to drive it into Zarith's side, hopefully in a kidney or something. HP: 2

HP: 1 Another solid hit. One of so many, and Zarith feared his opponent would never fall. He showed no signs of pain and Zarith himself was blinded! He moved a little on his knees, but there was no way he could get out of the way of the dagger. It slid deep between his ribs, and Zarith gave another weak bloody cry. With the chain gripped in his fist, Zarith lashed out towards Axel's head. His ghost lights were screaming at him but he could barely hear them!

Axel couldn't help but feel a bit of satisfaction as the jacknife slid in and he heard the anguished cry. He pulled his head back to admire the handiwork as he yanked the knife out and it was the only thing that kept his head from getting cracked by the chains again, feeling them brush by his ear. "Next time.. swing..the damned..chains...yourself!" He yells at the downed foe, and with what little strength he has left, he turns the knife around and just tries to brain Zarith with the butt-end. HP: 1

The screaming of his ghost lights sort of drowned out Axel's irritated rebuke. He felt the dagger pulled out of his side, which was a relief. He felt something strike his head, and with a small whimper of a sound, he collapsed flat on the ground.

:: Zariara was leaving the healers tent after helping her last patient lie down.... she saw movement out of the corner of her eye and turned her green eyes to look, those eyes widened as she saw the pale skinned Demi lying there... she clutched her bag tightly to her chest and ran over to him... "Oh Grandfather, give me strength!..." She'd whisper in horror as she saw the extent of his injuries... Looking nervously at the ghost lights that surrounded him... (They're still there right? ) "I can help him, I'm a healer, Granddaughter of Antarmur'ss... Ally to Death!" she didn't know if she needed permission to touch him or if the little lights would try to attack her because of how badly off she was, but she figured that it wouldn't hurt in trying... kneeling down on the ground beside him... she'd open her bad and start to pull out her most potent poultices and salves. Getting her softest gauze to begin to clear off his face, the liquid soaking the gauze was one of her stronger mixtures that would spur growth and mending, even as she'd clear the blood away. There was so much blood! ::

Despite Zarith's clearly unconscious state, the ghost lights did nothing more then bob and weave over him. Even his chains, the objects that he had been fighting with earlier, laid limp upon the ground. The damage to his eyes was partly concealed by the darkly colored eyelids, but the gouges to his face and skull were rather attention grabbing. Zarith did manage to make a soft whimper of a sound as he stirred. "No..stop...I don't want to fight anymore..." He whimpered.

:: She'd hurriedly yet with the softest touch, work her way over his skin, cringing at the sight of his eyes... she would put thick layers of poultice over them... he started to stir, setting her hand lightly to his shoulder she'd try to comfort him, "I am not going to hurt you, I am a healer, I'm trying to help you... You've been very badly wounded... try to be still.... shhh.... shhh..." petting his hair back from his face softly... trying to hum a soft tune she'd heard Triellyn singing once to calm her patient down as she worked... ::

It took Zarith time for his pain filled mind to realize that it wasn't the cursed still hurting him. His lips trembled as he laid on the ground and felt the girl doing things...but he kept his eyes closed. He didn't want to open them with how damaged they were. His bloody hand lifted up to grasp at the petting hand. "Who...who are you?" He asked in a trembling voice.

:: She'd continue humming through her work, using the soaked gauze to wipe away as many of the traces of blood she could find... feeling his hand touch hers as she tried to keep him calm... "I'm Zariara," she'd speak in a soft voice, her fingers curling around his... "I'm the Granddaughter or your God's Ally, Antarmur'ss...." she'd pop the cork out of one of her potion bottles, removing her hand from his she'd try to gently cradle his neck and head in her arm while bringing the bottle to his lips, "Drink this, it's going to help with the pain and heal you quicker, okay?" ::
