Lenore looked down at the recipe and nodded. They were nearly done. "It says to melt more butter and then combine it with flour. Then we're supposed to cook something called 'roux'." She paused, looking up at Zinnia from the recipe and blinking. "...I don't know what that is." Mimicking the other girl's butter "tablespoon" cuttings from memory, she grabbed the flour and poured in a fair amount that looked like not too much, not too little, and began to stir. Renekai 1: Lenore spills a huge amount of flour into the pan. 2: Lenore puts in too much flour. 3: Lenore puts in too little flour. 4: Lenore puts in just enough flour.

"Okay! While you're doing that..." Zin read that they were supposed to beat the cream. She wasn't sure what that meant, but she assumed that she just had to stir it a bit, so she poured some cream into a separate bowl and grabbed a new stirring spoon. She stirred vigorously but carefully. Her arm got tired, but the result was a beautifully prepared cream in the bowl, complete with perfect soft peaks. Not bad for a first try! Qixel 1: Zin splashes most of the cream out of the bowl 2: Zin doesn't stir enough, so it's still completely liquid 3: Zin stirs almost enough, make the cream somewhat creamier 4: Zin's training has payed off! She creates beautiful peaks!

Lenore finished whisking the mixture of butter and flour and looked back at the recipe. Grabbing the mug that Zinnia had used earlier, she fished around for some stocks and poured it into the mixture and began to whisk it harder. The mixture splashed around, and some of it ended up outside the pan. Lenore stared at the lost mixture for a moment before shrugging and sighing. No point worrying about it now. She poured the remainder back into the soup. Renekai 1: The mixture gets everywhere before Lenore thinks to slow down a little 2: Lenore spills some of the mixture in her haste 3: Lenore mixes it perfectly

Zin mixed their concoction together in the pot. It had the right consistency, but the color was a bit off; she imagined that leek soup would look light and creamy, but the red wine had dyed it a reddish-brown color. It didn't look very appetizing, but it smelled all right. Last of all was to add the salt and pepper; the chef would put the soup into bowls and top it with the cream that Zin had whipped when it was time to serve. The young trainee picked up the salt and pepper containers and, unfortunately, her hands slipped and she poured in a huge pile of each. She stirred the pot nervously, hoping that it would taste all right anyway. Qixel 1: Zin pours in way too much salt and pepper 2: Zin puts in a good amount of salt and pepper 3: Zin puts in too little salt and pepper

Lenore tilted her head to the side as Zin poured in a ton of salt and pepper. Was that what the recipe said to do? It was probably the only thing the twelve year old noticed off about the entire cooking process. Shrugging lightly, the turned to Zinnia. "So, what do we do now?"

"I think we're done!" Zin announced happily. As soon as the word 'done' left her mouth, an adult wearing a white apron appeared to whisk away the food they'd worked so hard to prepare. "That's all for today; you may put your aprons in the bin and return to your other duties. Thank you for your help," the lady said before leaving them to get back to work. Zin untied her apron and dropped it off in the laundry bin that was set out of the way near the back wall. "We worked really well today, even though we didn't really know how to cook," Zin laughed. "I don't know if I like cooking, but I had fun being your teammate! Want to hang out in the library now?" Qixel Feel free to have them walk off into the sunset and we can end the RP~ :3

Lenore shook her head. "Cooking isn't very fun, but it was nice to be with you." The girl's cheeks reddened at her admission, but other than that, her face remained as passive as ever. But the library sounded great, to be fully honest. Lenore nodded. "Yeah." The girl stripped off her apron, put it in the bin and then walked out the door.
