"Yes, yes, you're doing quite well!" Alister smiled at Shun in what he hoped was an encouraging way. He smiled at Harper too. Suddenly, his smile faded and he jerked in horrified realization.
"Ah! Oh no, oh no, I forgot! I'm supposed to be assisting the nurses today! Shun, please, please call on me again and we shall stuffy until you know everything there is to know about words!" With that, he jumped up and rounded the desk quickly. Somehow, Alister managed to hook his own foot around one if the kegs of the table and it was timber! He fell down, down, down face-first with a remarkable thud.
With a grunt, the tall man popped back up like a resilient daisy. He turned and waved at them, blood now dripping from his abused nose.
"Ack! I'm fine! I-I just-" thunk. Alister had been walking backwards as he spoke and now collided with a bookcase. The purple-haired boy was clearly a walking disaster. He paused, brows furrowed and, just then, a book fell on top of his head, the spine cracking him right in the noggin. It was a heavy tome, but had been knocked loose by the force of his collision. Groaning, Alister dropped into a crouch, one hand on his sore head, the other trying to stem the flow of blood from his nose.
"Owwww."
