She gave a small hum, head bobbing side to side as she considered that. Starting over, all from scratch was.... well. New. Yeah she couldn't deny that. "Don't think of it as starting over, maybe? Just that you haven't gotten out much yet. I donno. Think it'd help to stop thinking of what you're re-doing since you don't even remember it? Doesn't that just make everything you're doing brand new to you?" Though she spoke boldly, if a little softly to make sure no one else overheard them at the bar, she was peering into dark waters. A complete unknown stared back at her as she tread water, poking into the depths she couldn't begin to fathom.
Not that she thought Kairatos would rise out of the depths and snap her arm off, but she'd heard enough stories of people with PTSD becoming triggered by things other people saw as "mundane." Did he have something similar, in a sense? Or was the amnesia that complete?
His question though was met with a wide grin as she took the drink, handing to him the chilled beer bottle as she picked up her colorful drink topped with a cherry and pineapple slice on a plastic pirate sword. "Malibu coconut rum, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice. And totally one of my favorite drinks in the world." Taking a happy sip, the bright flavors put a rush through her systems unrelated to the alcohol. All related to the summer memories she'd formed over this drink through the years.
Drinking meant time to laugh and have fun with others to her. Surely it wasn't wrong to want to bring a similar association for Xanthus, right?
She motioned him with her back through the crowd, wriggling up onto a high stool at a stand alone table another pair had just vacated. Better than standing on their feet all night. "Here, try a sip!" She placed the cup onto the table and pushed it lightly to him, arms resting on the table top.

"That's not a bad way to look at it." He had to admit, and it made him smile a little bit. Maybe it made more sense to take it not as though things had been taken away and he had started over, but maybe that he had a fresh start. New Years had been a new beginning. Even if it was difficult to treat it that way, he wasn't sure it could be worse than getting lost sulking over the voids in his memory. "Sounds tasty." He grinned a bit, following her to the table with his own drink. "Definitely explains why it's so colorful. Not unlike yourself." He looked uncertainly at the drink, then at her as he reached for it gingerly, not sure if it was actually polite to take her up on it, or if he should try later in the night. "You sure?"

The wide smile she gave was both pleased to give him a brighter way to view the situation, and out of her own relief she didn't just blunder into a social bomb. "Hey, always happy to be of help~" Even if she wasn't sure sometimes if she was really offering any. But hey. Whatever come what may.
The complement at least got her to laugh. Danika winked, catching her tongue between her teeth in a smile before she snickered. "Hey gotta live life the most you can. Way I figure it, comic books and movies show these grand adventures all the time. Why can't my life be like that, too?" She paused and glanced down at her silver ring, wriggling her fingers lightly. "I mean, I thought that way before all this happened, but kinda makes even more sense now to me. Although I guess I'm a hypocrite if I use YOLO as an excuse for anything, from what people keep telling me." Her nose wrinkled a little as she thought of that, still not sure how she felt about all the talks of past lives.
When he hesitated to take the drink, she rose a brow. "I'm offering, aren't I? I mean your beer might taste a little funny after having some of it, but if you wanted to stay for a bit we could get water and some food to help even out the drinks. That'd clean your pallet right on up."

"I'm pretty sure it can't taste too much more off than a lite beer." He joked, though he couldn't remember actually haven chosen a light beer, just hearing people make fun of it. He patted his stomach as he added. "I mean if you've got something to say..." He grinned at her and shrugged. "I mean, sure I'll try a sip. It can't hurt too much, right? So as long as you're ok with it.." Not that he'd object to food, but he was almost hesitant to ask. She wasn't Zia, and there were price tags to consider in this night of experimenting.
