He nodded and swung the weapon around again, "and each weapon has a different set of attributes that lead to proper use, and effective use." He looked to her as they got ready. His chosen stance was standing straight, slightly turned, but a straight poshter. One arm out, holding the weapon straight out. "I'm ready." He replied. But even with the start of a battle, he was going to start on the defensive. He would always start in defense, that was the correct way to him. However surly they hadn't known it, but someone was probably watching. After all it was their first time seeing Darrick actually take a challenge. Wooden blades or not, no ones seem him go all out in a fight yet, nor did they know his stile yet. This would be a perfect test for the order too.

Aurora was smiling again before her face steeled itself and got into her family style position; While using a one handed weapon, she had both hands on the handle and raised it so the 'blade' was at her eye level, tip pointed at Derrick. After a minute of silence, a nearby apple dropped from it's branch, causing 2 things to happen the second it hit the ground; the first was that the happy and overly cheerful side of Aurora was gone, replaced with a battle-hardened veteran. The second was that she starting to charge at him, blade still in the starting position. When she was about 6 feet away, she stopped, letting her momentum carry her the rest of the way via skidding on the gravel, and thrusted the blade towards Derrick, aiming for the hand to disarm him.

It would have been something defiantly to see from anyone else watching the fight because Darrick didn't move. Even his blade still held out. He was a quick thinker it seemed, The moment he saw her go into a slide, on top of the gravel he knew that ment that her footing wasn't secure, and that the rocks under neithe her feet left gaps between her and the earth, with only the movement of one foot out of place, he pulled her foot out form under her and let her fall forwards beside him where he then let the side of his blade slightly tap the back of her butt. Finally he looked down to her and spun around. For anyone else this would have been a funny sight, the new guy making a smart a** move like that to someone like Asura. But Darrick held the same expression he had before. No smiles, he never smiled. "In terms of a duel I would believe that counts as a first hit for me." He replied stepping back a little to give her space for another go.

There were many things she could tolerate; losing a match in sword play, even thought she'll bicker about it later; showing humility to her opponents; heck even not getting the first hit. But what she would not handle without exploding was that tap on her rear, which felt more like he was copping a feel on her. Derrick had made her unleash the most horrifying power any mortal could unleash at a moment's notice upon himself that no man is able to withstand against; Feminine Fury. Aurora got back up and unleashed a swing of her wooden sword, unleashing a wave of wind that also picked up dust to cover her next charge, this time swinging in fast precise attacks that, if she was using a real blade, would kill someone. She wasn't going to give him another strike on her without working for it. To keep him from advancing, she kept on the offensive and continued to walk towards him after each swing, making sure she didn't overextend herself.

As soon as he was able to duck that wind attack, he relized that the real chanllenge just started. She was now striking at hims quicker, with more anger behind each one he managed to dodge by backing up and swaying from side to side, but finally he had to pick up his blade hand and block a strike, that would have otherwise hurt him badly. He realized it wouldn't stop her however, as she wouldn't give him a chance. And so again, he used his thinking, she was focused on strikeing forword, this ment her back was un-protected. But to do what he planned he needed to sacrifice something... but he had no choice.
He dodged another strike before using his sword to block, and his hurt arm to grab her shoulder, and he used the shoulder not to swing her, but himself past her, into a tword, where he would just be able to strike her side with the sword. Tap. Sadly now his arm was hurting to the point it would be fatl to use it. He was now by his side, as he leaped back and took stance again. He nodded to her, "that was a challenge. That's two for me."

"...and two for me as well." If one looked more closely, Derrick's small armor pads at his chest and right thigh had long gashes on them; deeps cuts from a blunt weapon. Aurora placed the wooden sword at her hip, then had a second hand on it like she was keeping the sheath and blade together. This was a samurai stance, meant to end the fight with one more strike. There, she waited patiently as the wind blew through the field, every onlooker having to hold their breath as they wondered who would make the first move.

He's eyes glared and he quickly took a slightly different stance, "bushido..." He replied under his breath but load enough she would hear. That's right, he knew of this move. This move sent the person alongside the other, with a single strike futile blow meant to finish any battle. But it's also a sense of speed against the opponents. Most could never react quick enough, but Darrick hoped he could. With his blade on one side, held out he had no choice but to assume that he would have to go for a neck shot, a fatal blow if she happened to get hit when she past by his side. The only problem was, he needed to know which side she would strike. He could only guard one... His glared hardened on to her, "I'm ready..." meanwhile his grip tighten on his sword. If she went to the side of the broken arm, he would loose... unless he used his foot. If she tripped, she would loose balance and not even get a hit into him, but it would give him time to finish her off. Either way he would get her, but only one direction would she get him too, now that was certain. He knew his options, and this would end the battle...

"Shonryu Art of Speed; Tsuinmirāsutoraiku (Twin-Mirror Strike)" When Aurora moved to attack, there were two of her going at opposite sides of him, one being an illusion. The purpose of the attack was to use speed alone to throw the enemy off and make them either feel unable to block, or make them block one strike only for it to be a fake and the real strike finishing them off. Kimiko had to master this basic technique first before she could enter the training program for Paladins. Other members of her family could make an entire army of them, or move so quickly that one hit ended up becoming 8. Both Kimiko's swung at both his left and right, so he had to make a choice; block one or back off, leaving himself open for another attack.

Now he was left confused, two of her? This was a different move all together, and how was she able to copy herself. But he relized it as she came at him, one had to be a fake, and illution... but which one... which should he counter... He decided to take the side his broken arm was on, and hope he chose correctly... but just in case, he did leap into the air, if there was no way to go from side to side, then up was the only way he could dodge... sadly as only human, he couldn't jump too high...

Unfortunately, Aurora had aimed for Derrick's non-broken arm, which was shown by the illusion moving through Derrick and a strike hitting his foot while he was in the air, throwing off balance and causing him to land on his back, where he could see a wooden sword pointed at his face and a foot on his chest. The blond paladin in training finally had a cheery smile on her face as she looked at him. "Your pretty good, are you sure you have never used a sword before? Because those skills say otherwise. Or maybe I'm that good of a teacher..."

He blinked... "I... this is my first time. I've ready about Bushino in a book once... that's about it." He shrugged admitting his defeat, "but it didn't do me much good die it." He nodded, "A accept defeat. You have won this dule." He gave a slight bow of his head before getting up and brushing himself off. He then reached down to pick up the sword. Still that same expression on his face, that board look. "I do have a question though." As he stood and put the sword in his belt he looked to her, "how did you do the illustion?"

Her smile became a grin when he asked about the copy of herself. "Pure Speed and the adrenaline rush from the fight, plus it's a family technique taught only within, and even though many people have tried to imitate it, they just can't without meeting even the minimum requirements to make one copy. I had to learn it before I came here, plus a hammer would most definitely throw off my balance, as I'm more accustomed to two-handed swords."

Aurora was surprised, but it wasn't from the question. She had heard many greedy people ask her to teach them that like they were supposed to have it if she could do it, but she would always brush them off and, if need be, beat people away with her wooden swords. It was the look he was giving her that made her reconsider about teaching it to another. "I really wish I can, but It's not that I won't. It's not my place to decide if your worthy of the training, that decision rests with my great grandmother; as the eldest, she's the one who can decide if an outsider is worthy of the family teachings. I would have to take you to her, and from there... you're on your own." She gave him a saddened look since it wasn't her place to teach him her family techniques. "But that doesn't mean it's impossible. With the way that your skilled, even through just reading about something, you seem to learn very quickly. So that might earn you a few points there."
