Brendon smiled seeing a dark blush on the male's face after he kissed him. Smiling he watched Ace return to his seat before the two finished eating. Hearing him Brendon softly sighed. He didn't want him to go but there was nothing he could do. He didn't own Ace, nodding knowing there was nothing he could do. Getting up he helped Ace clean up some before watching him leave. Turning back into the cottage he finished cleaning up before heading home himself. Quickly sneaking up to his room he cleaned up and changed into his clothes from previously that day. Looking out the window of his room he knew he eventually had to tell Ace. There would be a time he wouldn't be able to go back anymore and see him. Glancing at the time he sighed before walking to the dinning room. Immediately walking in he could tell something was wrong. The mood was far to tense. Nervously he walked to his seat at the table and looked to his parents. is siblings seemed equally confused on what was the issue but they were going to find out soon enough. How might one double the number of soldiers they have in a day? he heard his father ask. It was simple and laid out in front of them. War was coming upon them soon. You couldn't increase pay or else you would loose all money in the middle of the war. Promise them benefits for their family while at war. he suggested. It would help recruit many considering ninety five percent of the population was not upper class.

✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"All is fair..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿  Ace sighed softly hearing his father ranting about the enemy. "If we don't beat them then how can we hold our heads up. I want our Army to be increased by fifty percent. We show them no mercy." His dad said as he looked at the generals before looking at Ace. "And this time you will be leading our troops. You have the age now and with your floor plans we will be sure to win." His father added softly. Ace was one of the best strategists in the whole kingdom. "Who are we going to be going against this time? It would be a good idea for one of the spies to go scout the land and find the weakest spot. "Ace said softly as he looked at his father. As soon as his father said the name of the kingdom he looked down. Ace didn't want to do this but he thought that maybe Brendon wouldn't be part of it because he knew he was peaceful. ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon saw his father nod with approval and quickly send a servant to give the order to spread the word. Who are we going against father? he asked only to feel his heart stop at hearing the kingdom. He hoped Ace would have nothing to do with this or even be collateral damage as his father liked to say about civilian casualties during war time. He knew he was going to have to fight this either out on the battle field or from behind the scenes. He wanted to almost run out at the moment and drag Ace here to protect him but he didn't even know where to start looking. Hearing that he was to be on the battlefield but in the backgrounds being a strategist. At least he could try to direct the war against certain areas to hopefully keep Ace alive and to end the war quickly. That was probably hoping for to much considering the nature of battles and wars. Though he knew if it came down to it he would end up fighting in the war. His strategies were decent nothing compared to the male's but his skills with a sword were top notch.

✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"All is fair..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿ Ace sighed softly and listened to his father. "I'll get a spy to go to that kingdom but for now stay near the castle. In the last battle someone found out that the prince was the strategist behind the whole plan so the enemy might know that you will be coming up with the strategies and that can put you in danger." His father said softly. Ace didn't want to have to stay in the kingdom because that meant he couldn't see Brendon anymore until the war was over."Fine, but we have to evacuate the children,women and the old into the mountains in order to decrease the number of casualties. We will only keep a couple of people here to help with the soldiers needs such as food and building things."Ace said softly as he walked out of the room. He went to the balcony and looked out on the land scape. He hoped that Brendon would be okay. He knew that he couldn't handle his death because of how much he loved him. He however knew that he couldn't go and look for him because spies were already wanting to kill him to stop him from making the strategies. ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon knew he had to be careful without his father even telling him. Many were aware of his skills in battle and would be after him so he couldn't get onto the battlefield. Let alone with him being crown prince and his brother being only ten. There would be no one to take over if something happened to him and his father meaning the country would be easier to take down. Since the last battle with Gardania his family and spies had been fully aware that the prince of the country was the main strategist. Killing him would be difficult, yet the war would end much quicker and less lives would be lost. His father would bring the people closer to the castle so they were easier to protect. Protection would then be heightened and the rings of increasing number of soldiers would begin in designated areas. It was effective and helped protect the kingdom and one would know of when and where to send reinforcements depending on what was taking place. Getting up he excused himself from the remainder of the meal and stepped outside into the garden. Finding the oak he sat down on the bench staring out at the seemingly endless stretch of land. He fought in the last few battles the two kingdoms had had in previous years, yet none had this almost ominous feeling about them. As if something was bound to happen during this war.

✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"All is fair..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿ Ace slowly went back inside and went to his bedroom. He could hear his father's messenger telling the villagers that they were going to evacuate them to the mountains. Gardania was famous for their rich soil, clean water and their harbor for trade. "Soon this nightmare will start.."Ace whispered to himself. He went to the hall and spoke to the spy. The spy then left to find out how things were going to be done in Brendon's Kingdom. Ace quickly began to make a game plan already knowing where to hit first. If they hit the back troops first they could get rid of the back up soldiers. Ace had given the spy a little present for the enemy soldiers that wouldn't kill them. Just make them sick to the point that they couldn't help out ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon stood up and walked over to the area where the soldiers trained. From the looks of it there were quite a few new recruits. Though they looked as if they had never picked up a weapon in their life. They would be placed on the front line and be some of the first killed. Picking up a sword he wanted to practice some since practice really wouldn't happen during war it would be the surviving new ones who would be put through intensive training. War it could leave a kingdom in ruins or prosperity. Seeing the captain walk over to him, Brendon looked at him I'd like to practice before I'm almost unable to. he said before the male nodded. Anytime he practiced it was with him or the lieutenant. At the moment he needed to get his mind off of everything and this always helped. who knew how long he would be at it with whomever he was going up against. Seeing the male walk back with two swords he raised a questioning eyebrow. Two swords wasn't something one could easily handle. Your majesty if you would please use one of these. They aren't sharp. the captain said before Brendon tossed the one he was holding aside and taking one of the safer swords since they were wearing no armor.

✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"All is fair..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿ Ace finished making the first plan, he sighed and gently went and put the plan on the general's desk. He wasn't the best at wielding a sword but he did try his best. After a while the spy returned with what he needed. It was a map of everything in the enemy's kingdom."Did you do as I asked?"Ace said softly as he put the map away and looked at the spy. He had asked the spy to spike the food of the new recruits in order to make them sick so they could not participate in the first battle. The spy nodded his head and bowed to the young prince. "Yes sir, about twenty percent that I saw of the soldiers ate the spiked food. They will be feeling the effects/affects of the medicine before the battle. I also found out that they are bringing the citizens closer to the palace." The spy said but he was dismissed by Ace after."Alright then we avoid attacking the palace as much as possible. I don't want innocent people being dragged into this."Ace said to himself as he made a note of it on the map. The maid came in and informed him that it was time for target practice and sparing. He might not be the best with a sword but he was great with his bow and arrow. He practiced for a bit with a bow, never missing his target. However when it came to sparing he was cornered a couple of times by his partner. ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon finished sparing with the captain. In each round he cornered him or even slightly got him with the sword. So it probably was better to use a dull sword, they didn't need anything happening to the captain before the war. He could work on archery some but would pass. He was horrible with a bow and arrow he found close combat more effective. Sparing or hand to hand he was almost impossible to defeat in. He never let any of that show when he was with Ace though. Handing the sword back he returned back to the inside of the castle. Heading to the library he thought of ways to keep as many people out of it. Stepping in he saw the group of strategists conversing around the large map spread out on the table. Walking over he heard them talking on how the civilians were moved into the mountains. Glancing down at the map he saw the mountains were circled and marked that the country's people were there. If they could get as close to castle as they could on the first try would be suicide. The other side had to be weakened first and then they could do that.

✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"All is fair..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿ A couple of days went by quickly and as expected twenty percent of the enemy troops fell sick and were unable to attack. Ace had ordered this not only to win the battle but to save as many lives as he could of the enemy's troops as well as Gardania's troops. Cannons were fired to the back lines and grenades to the first line. Gardania couldn't afford to lose. Everything was going as Ace had planned but every once in a while he filled with worry and sadness. He missed Brendon, and just prayed that he was not in this war. However he also hoped that he would never find out that he was the strategist behind everything. ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon watched the battle from where he stood. with twenty percent of the troops to ill to fight he had to go out on the battlefield himself. They were currently close to the area where he always met with Ace. He just hoped that the male wasn't in the cottage in case anything happened. At the moment he just had to stand back and watch as the people fighting were wounded and killed. Closer to the end or whenever it was decided the troops might need assistance would he enter the battle. At the moment it appeared as if the war might stretch on for quite a while. Which would mean longer he wouldn't get to see Ace. He just prayed Ace wasn't in this and didn't find out who he was.

So far everything was fine but one of the troops had brought news that a small cottage that had been in the middle of both Kingdoms had been destroyed. After the battle was over he retreated his troops. Luckily many were fine and only five percent was injured or killed. He gave the order for the troops to rest while the the night troops took over the night shift. Ace quickly changed into his normal street clothes and a cloak before he snuck out of the castle. He had proubly go to the cottage. He had brought his bow and arrow just in case he ran into trouble. When he got there it had been too late. The cottage where so many happy things happened had been destroyed. ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon heard news that a cottage had been destroyed by an off grenade from one side and it was unsure whether anyone was in it. Hoping Ace wasn't in there he focused his attention back onto the battle with a nagging feeling of worry. The cottage would be long gone by now so there was nothing he could do, yet not knowing if Ace had been in there was torturous. Watching.Watching the troops retreat for the night he signaled for them to do the same. Knowing he had to go check on the troops see how many were injured and take account of how many were there then see how those who were ill were faring. Finding only about four percent were severely wounded or dead and one percent with minor wounds. He really couldn't go sneak off and see how the cottage was or even if Ace had been there tonight there was a meeting on what they should do next and he had to attend. Sighing Brendon ran a hand through his hair before heading to his tent to at least get out of the armor before attending. It was going to be a long night and he still had to oversee the battle tomorrow.

Bad thoughts quickly went through his head. He growled thinking that the person under the rubble was Brendon but in reality it was just a soldier. He quickly left back to the kingdom his head filled with rage. He went back and check on his soldiers. Luckily everything seemed to be fine still."I swear I will avenge your death, Brendon."Ace said to himself in tears before he went to the study to bring the knew plan for tomorrows battle ✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿"...In love & War..."✿*ﾟ‘ﾟ･✿

Brendon sighed stepping into the library once more to look at the plans and see what was planned for the next day. Hearing the words "someone had been in the destroyed cottage though they couldn't identify the male." Brendon felt his heart drop. The only people who knew of it were him and Ace meaning that he was dead. If he could identify who it was questions would be raised. If they kept it up like they were fighting and without the full intent to utterly annihilate them then they could fully take it out in the end and just finish the opponents. Give them no mercy he practically growled Leave the main strategist for me. Seeing the men make a note of that he knew the word would be spread and as long as he was alive the order would be respected. Going over the war plans for the next day he suggested a few changes here and there. He knew how to keep his emotions bottled up most the time and this time he was going to hold onto his fury until he reached the battlefield.
