"I don't know," the hybrid said with a shrug, "Maybe? I have a friend who told me that, like... once it happens and you find it, you just know. I haven't had that moment yet..." She did spend an awful large amount of time in the healing tents and she enjoyed her time there, but what did it mean if she wasn't having epiphanies? Then, suddenly, she realized that Finnley knew exactly what she wanted to do.

"Did you have one of those moments?" She put the thorned bud safely in a basket she created with her sash and offered it out to Finnley. Being pricked wasn't fun.

She supposed there were times that 'you just know' but Finnley wanted to believe that you could do anything you set your mind to. "Th-that may be true. And n-nothing against your friend, but I like to believe that there is nothing you can't be or accomplish be simply believing in yourself and setting your mind to it..." She tried to think back to when she had decided she wanted to be a healer.

"I...honestly don't know if I've had one of those moments. I've j-just always wanted to h-help people. I have younger siblings at h-home and I would always take care of them so maybe it came from that..." Finnley shrugged and put her flower in Ime's makeshift basket.

Ime paused a moment to think. So Finnley may not have had a sudden spark in choosing her future class, but she had simply known all along what she wanted to be. With Kelina's advice she had been worried that her mother's profession seemed like the right thing to do just because it was her mother's.

"What do your parents do?" she asked, and then quickly added: "If you don't mine me asking."

With Ime's question, it actually made Finnley giggle a little bit. It may be considered an odd reaction but her parents were an odd couple. "I d-don't mind. My Daddy is treasure hunter and my momma is a knight." Just talking about her parents called up the image of them. Her momma in all her braveness and her daddy with all of his collections.

"They're an odd couple but they somehow work. I don't really know how a knight and a treasure hunter would fall in love but they did." The smile stayed on Finnley's face even after she finished speaking. Her parents didn't mind that she didn't want to follow one of their foot prints. Would Ime's mom be mad if she didn't? "Would your Momma be mad if you didn't be a healer?" She asked after a few moments.

Ime smiled back. That was quite an odd pair! Love always found a way, though, didn't it?

"Oh! Oh, no, she's very supportive," Ime nodded. "She's just a healer herself, so I was kind of brought up in that world, you know? We were always helping someone or carrying supplies or out harvesting. I was a handful as a kid. I liked to wander away and do my own thing. No, Mama says whatever I want to do is exactly what I should do."

Finnley continued to smile as she thought of her parents. They were very nice people, and thinking of them now, it made her miss home. But she knew what she was doing here was so much more important and beneficial. She was actually making a difference, or at least trying to make a difference, and that was so much better than just watching her siblings at home.

"It's good that your mother is supportive of you! And y-you shouldn't feel pressured to be a he-healer even with being around it your whole life. You definitely have an ad-advantage if you did though." Finnley wondered what Ime would end up choosing to do. She'd figure it out eventually she was sure of it.

"She's the greatest," Ime nodded. It took a special kind of woman to do what her mother had done. "My father was from the Ice tribe. When my mama had me, the village didn't want her around any more, so she left. She's taken care of me on her own ever since."

It seemed like everyone she knew had two parents, or at least did at some point. She had never been so lucky. For a time she had considered traveling to Zena and seeing if she could find her father, but her interest had waned. They would not have been a hard pair to find after all these years, and he had never come.

"I don't know. Part of me wants to be able to go out on the battlefield, you know? Take out some bad guys. No weapon's felt right in my hands, though." She had once had quite a bit of fun shooting a bow, but her teacher had been a soldier and they had laughed when she managed to hit the target. It had been fun, but not something she thought she wanted to do forever.

Poor Ime's childhood must have been so sad! Finnley told herself. She couldn't even imagine living without one of her parents. Her dad must not have loved them very much. And that village must have been mean! She'd never really met many Ice people but they sounded cold (pun intended). "That doesn't sound very nice. B-but your mother is a strong woman. I didn't k-know Ice people were that mean..." Finn looked away sadly. Then they got back on topic of classes.

"Well..maybe you should be a treasure hunter like my daddy! You'd explore and m-meet people, and then you could help people by t-teaching them. Or maybe you should be an artist or-or a singer or a d-dancer! There are s-so many things you could do! And you still have plenty of t-time, I wouldn't be worried." Finn said with a smile once more. She was confident Ime would figure it out when she was meant to figure it out.

"Well, I've met a few around here, I don't think they're mean by nature, and I don't think my father was mean either. Mama always says that 'the plains weren't meant for him'. She says they were in love." It was very difficult to insult Ime, but Finnley had succeeded. It didn't show on her face or in her manner, but insulting half of someone's race and their estranged father didn't sit well with her. Oh well. Some people just didn't understand, and that couldn't be helped. It was like the Alkidike that specifically asked to not be in a bed by a Shifter. Racism happened.

"Oh, I don't know if treasure-hunting is for me. That must be dangerous! I hadn't considered dancing or singing, though." She had, to a point, but she had just a bit of stage fright. Performing would be better than being shot-at, but she still didn't know if it was for her. "So you have brothers and sisters? How old are they?"

"Oh. I've never really m-met any Ice people. I suppose you're kind of th-the first Ice p-person I've met..." Finnley looked away awkwardly and began playing with one of her pigtails. But things turned back towards better things to talk about and Finnley was glad to change the subject.

"I g-guess treasure hunting would be dangerous. My daddy n-never really s-said much about it b-being dangerous..." She thought to her family again, and wondered how old her siblings were now. "I have t-two brothers and o-one sister. I'm the oldest and my brothers Namid and Nasnen are twins and they a-are...five years y-younger. My sister Miri is only four. They're all v-very nice. Though...th-they d-don't always ap-appreciate what my parents do for them..." They were good kids, sure, but they were sheltered and Finn thought her brothers weren't so happy about that.

"Well, I'm half Wind too! Don't let the skin fool you." It wasn't the most unusual for someone to mistake her for an oddly-colored member of the Ice tribe, but Finnley had said she'd seen Ime's mother, hadn't she? Her mother was most assuredly Wind.

"Well there's not a whole lot of treasure that nobody's guarding, right? Or that other people want--" she stopped to pluck up a few from a little clump of green plants on the ground and dropped them into her makeshift apron. "and then the ones that are, they're all hidden, right? I bet your dad has a lot of great stories to tell." She chuckled and shook her head at the mention of ungrateful children.

"Kids can be funny that way. I had a friend when I was younger who decided to run away from home because his dad said he wasn't old enough to handle a sword. For the record, he wasn't. I'm sure somebody would have lost a limb."

Finnley's face flushed. She didn't always pick up on those small things like that. "I'm sorry! I hope I didn't insult you..." One thing that could be said for Finnley, though, was that she didn't really care about who was from where she just wanted to be friends with everybody. "Now that I think about it though...I know one other Ice person and he's really nice." What she didn't say was that she may end up having his children. She didn't think that was very appropriate, especially since she secretly hoped she and Natsu would get closer since she felt more comfortable around the bard.

"My Dad does have a lot of neat stories. He always used to give us awesome b-bedtime stories. A l-lot of the time he was just looking for c-clues, but he did find some neat gems one time!" All the stories started flooding back to her and all the neat things her father used to bring home. "Thankfully none of m-my siblings have ever ran away. But that s-seems silly. At l-least he didn't hurt himself! W-was he found before too long?"

"Not at all! I'm blue, I'd believe I was Ice-only too," Ime replied, laughing slightly. Comments against her father might upset her, but she had no qualms with her race. Nobody yet had really talked down to her because of it, although she was sure that was partially her mother's doing.

"Oh, neat! I've never found anything, really. I mean, I've met a lot of people now, and I've seen a lot of animals? But I've never really run off very far. Mama would tell you otherwise." She nodded and then suddenly gasped, rushing to a nearby tree. At its foot grew a collection of plants with vibrant violet buds which she plucked up hurriedly. "Look! You knew just where to come!" she chimed. Mama would be happy to get some more of this to keep in stock. She did pop a bit of a leaf off with her finger nail, though, and offer it to Finnley. "Remember these. Here. Try." As if to demonstrate the safety of the plant, she took a little shred for herself and put it on her tongue. As she chewed, her mouth slowly gained a tingle that would eventually turn to a sort of shallow numbness if she had taken enough for a treatment.

With a sigh of relief, the two girl kept walking through the forest. Ime's makeshift basket was getting awfully full and Finnley was glad she'd have something to take back to the camp at least. "Whatever race people are...at least they've c-come together to defend Tendaji." She said with a smile. She was really proud of all the different races putting aside their differences to defend their homes. They might not have survived this long had they not.

"I guess it takes a special kind of person to be a treasure hunter! I know t-that my daddy likes it, it's a ch-challenge." Finnley's brothers had gotten that love of challenge from their father, Finnley got the want to help people. When Ime gasped, it took her by surprise thinking they were under attack or something and started looking around. Until Ime rushed over to a tree with some very pretty flowers on them. Ime said she had known just where to come even though they had stumbled upon them by accident. When offered a piece of the leaf, she took it hesitantly until Ime put a piece in her mouth. Doing the same, Finn got a shocked look on her face as a portion of her mouth started to tingle when she chewed until she couldn't feel it anymore. "That is so interesting! So th-these would be good for p-pain killers! Did you grab enough t-to take back so your Mom can h-have some?"

Ime nodded. While not everyone had put aside their racial differences, she would not be surprised to hear that most of Tendaji had come to defend their homeland. It seemed that sharing a common threat was greater than racial tension.

She giggled at Finnley's exuberance and nodded. The plant was rare, but she had gathered up all but one from the base of the tree. Mama had always told her to leave just one, because it took living plants to make more. Ime did strip a few more leaves from the living plant, though.

"Yeah! These are hard to find. They grow in the shade at the base of trees, and only sometimes. It's not gravely needed, but it does help, you know? It's nice when someone who's hurt can just... not-hurt for a while." She was just as interested in the comfort of patients as the healers were for their survival.
