I'm not a big fan of the designs either nor have a watched more than clips of the series, so beyond the initial designs I don't know much about it. I do kinda like the conductor and ticket though. Those two are pretty hilarious.
I'm not sure about Drive. I can see what you mean about the transformation gimmick being a ripoff of ToQGer, but since we've only seen very blurry scans of the suit I'd say it's a little too early to tell.

You mean Koyomi? xd lol It's cool, I'm a public relations graduate and I'm just as horrible with names. Anyway, I really didn't notice much of a difference about her missing from scenes. But then again, she was more of a background character and like Phillip from KR Double, she was only made relevant to the plot again in the climax and finale. Still wish I got to see more of Dark Koyomi/Kamen Rider Wiseman (II) though. >.<
I see what you mean about filler and I agree. It's like medicine, in small doses it's fine and even healthy for you, but if you take to much of it you'll end up hurting yourself more. Which we have seen from time and time again in Wizard for example.

I was a pretty good fight, with a lot of build up behind it and I see what you mean about believability. It might be a Japanese kids' show, but if you extend you suspension of disbelief too much and don't have proper consequences for your actions, then it becomes dull and sends the wrong message like you said. Good examples with the spoilers, but I will say that Koyomi never did come back. But as we've agreed before, Sentai and Kamen Rider does seem to lack a sense consequence. [spolier] which is way I was pretty annoyed when Torin (Kyoryuger's mentor) "came back" at the end of "They're back! 100 Years After" Candeilla was a nice touch though. Which is why Dragon Ranger and AbareKiller will always remain badass as some of the best memorable characters in the series.

lol I doubt they will though. A Kachidoki-style heavy armor that has a banana motif would be pretty cool, but I don't think we'll ever see it unless it's fan art or something like that. Toei seriously prove us smarks wrong and surprise us, dammit! mad

lol You know in reading over that, we really need something to argue/disagree about something more. We always tend to agree. xd

They are kinda meh to me. I can ignore them, and they are better than in-the-way wagon or whatever her name is, but I'm mostly eh on their characters. There was a scan (a clearer one I saw today) showing off some toy stuff. Looks a lot like ToQGer with little car things that he will probably swipe or scan in some way to change modes. We'll see how they are used, but it certainly feels "ToQGer, but rider, with cars instead of trains" so far cat_gonk

I told you I'm bad with names lol yeah her. I think she was meant to have more of a role, but when she couldn't make the filming they just sort of bulled their way through extending time until the ending plot arch stuff. Since it really felt like we should care a lot more about her by that point but given she was never really around that was a tough thing to sell.

I still don't buy the "It is a kids show" excuse for these types of shows. Sure it is, but it has had dark and deep tones before. Doesn't need to drip with it and having the comic side stuff is good, but if it has no consequences to it then it really is just being watered down. If you know every week the villains won't really harm anyone but themselves, then it loses a bit of it's edge and appeal. Koyomi is an exception with that, which did shock me, but it was still something I saw coming a mile away what happened to her near the end.

We probably won't see one, but at least you have your imagination lol
I'm enjoying our agreement with this series right now. Wasn't very fun talking Double before lol I'm not one to enjoy it spinning that way, so it is good that we're on the same page I think.

Meh. Agree to disagree with what little screen time I've seen of them I guess. There was at least one or two times when I got a chuckle out of it. ;P
You really think Kamen Rider Drive is gonna be that bad, huh? I'll admit his name isn't really helping things, but let's hope it's not as bad as "ToQGer, but a rider with cars instead of trains" sounds. gonk

lol I told you I was the same way despite my major. haha Really? That's the first I heard about Koyomi's actress not making the filming schedules. Wouldn't they have recast it to someone else if they knew ahead of time that it was going to be that bad?

Not arguing with you there, except most kids aren't taught or exposed to that type of stuff at that age. At least not intentionally. I will agree however that there should be actual consequences for someone's actions. It's probably the same reason why I hate Power Rangers for always sugarcoating it by saying something like "…but you'll be destroyed!" It was nice bit of fresh air when the kid in RPM asked a ranger if they were going to die (at least before they changed producers and ******** it up again). That type of real world consequence stuff that you're talking about really does bring it more credibility to me as an adult. Yeah, Koyomi's death could be seen from a mile away. I liked that it was an exception though.

*In the ToQGer conductor's excited, drawn-out voice* "IMAGA-NAAAAAATIONNNNNN!" xd

Wait. When did we have an argument about Double exactly? Was in the PM's or one of the guild's threads? I don't remember. XD I was mostly thinking about though when we were running Koukenger and debating about how the mecha and gattai worked. Fun times.. Not. xd

I don't have a lot of faith no. The concept doesn't seem good, but it will likely go back to the usual Toku cycle. Disliking it, then standing it or enjoying it once it has a few episodes to warm up. Though I'm very scared after the greatness that has been Gaim, Drive will fall flat like we've had for a few years now. Hopefully it can be enjoyable and not something like Fourze where I regret sticking with it or like Kyoryuger where I drop it 8 episodes in.

Well I don't know 100%. I've seen it mentioned in other discussion stuff but I'm not sure how legit it is. It would make sense though given what I said about it seeming like we were meant to give more care about her character despite her never really being around.

That is why I say it is a garbage excuse since they used to have it often enough in toku shows. I know times can change, but given that it has happened a lot in the history of the show to back out of doing anything so mature and then claim "well it is a kids show" is kind of a weak argument to me.

As far as I recall it was in PMs and in the thread lol.

That probably will be case Drive then. I definitely agree however after Gaim's near perfect run is over, the next series what ever it is will have a lot of catching up to do. XD The car is might be interesting to see though. I somehow managed to get through Kyouryuger somehow. emo

You're right it would conveniently explain a lot of stuff if it's legit. Needless to say however, I didn't care much after her character's death either.

I think considering the fact that we live in a culture where we either spoon feed it or teach our children to be idiots those type of more thought-provoking shows won't replace the crapper ones. I didn't use it completely as an excuse.

blaugh

I forgot we had a Double thread. I'll have to look it up. xd

It's an amazing series thus far. It's up near Kuuga/Akito, 555, and Kabuto.
I'd say so. It's definitely up there among most well-written stories. Pretty good acting and the suit designs have really since grown on me too. I just wish they would give Baron a proper Final Form. mad

What's been your favorite thing about it?

Also, Akito? I'm pretty sure you mean Agito. xd

Oh dear, it's Agito? I've been spelling it Akito for way too long. I never heard the "g", I've heard a "k". I will look into that.

My favorite is that the story is coming full circle. Who is good? Who is evil? Who will win? What will happen. Will it become like Ruyuki? Will we repeat the same mistakes? I am also seeing a heavily biblical influence in this rider series. Usually I hate when religion is tied into tv shows, but this one, I don't seem to mind. It is done well. Very cleaver.

Yeah, it is Kamen Rider Agito. Agito is latin for "I move" or "to put into motion" as well.

Yep, Agito. It's okay I knew what you meant. xd

It has a few Ryuki-esk things surrounding it such as the "war," but I don't see it becoming anything like that now that we're in the last few episodes. I'm not one for needless biblical stuff either, but I do agree it was handled like the rest of the series such as it being full of a lot of grey areas and it's lasting consequences has definitely won me over. 3nodding

Haha, yes. I still think Tokadora (sp?) is still alive. Any one else thinks the same?

Actually we don't know. The last we saw of him was that his Sengoku Driver and him falling unconscious in a harbor.

In other news, has anybody saw episode 43 yet? This is just one more reason why Gaim has become one the most badass Heisei-era Kamen Rider series to date!
