Melvin was working in another set of conditioner when the water started to turn lukewarm and have the warning signs of turning cold. He already started to rinse his hair and by the time the water was turning chill, turned off the water and placed the bottles back in the carrier. He grabbed his towel to place it around his waste and wiped the blonde hair out of his face.
"It's nice until you think of a Titan just stepping on whatever building Rep decides to keep it in. He'll need some sort of protection or shield over it constantly to keep it safe or make a bunker underground that can't be blasted away easily. It will be really costly, and he doesn't have that sort of money." He pointed out, stepping out of his stall and moving to the locker where he kept his clothes.
"But that's what everyone risks when living anywhere here. Nothing is..." He paused. before pulling himself away from a darker corner of his thoughts. "It will be nice to have a bar around here though. I'm hoping that if there are enough rooms cleared off. I can maybe get a projector. It would be nice to have movies here regularly. We all get behind on what is even showing, I think." He reached into his locker for another towel and started to dry his hair.

Satisfied with his hair, Al dabbed the towel to his arm pits then wiped off the rest of himself rather quickly before finally wrapping the towel around his waist. "Maybe so, but I respect him for taking the risk for the sake of a bit of normalcy." Her flashed a bit of a toothy grin Melvin's way, "If you do a theater setup, good luck keeping me out man."

"I won't be keeping people out. It would be nice if we could all talk about the movies we watch. Pretend we actually are normal for a while."
He started to work on drying his hair and after he rubbed his hair roughly with the towel, he took it off only to show his hair was now a curly mess of blonde and white.
"What do you miss? You know, about being normal?" Was it the restaurants, the takeout, or the ability to just go down to the store whenever you wanted? There was so much every person missed.

"I miss the bugs," Al very clearly had never met Melvin before.

Melvin turned his head to one side and hit the palm against his ear, trying to get rid of whatever water must be muffling his hearing. Once he brought his upright again, rubbing the towel against his ear, he looked back at Al.
"Excuse me? I think there was water in my ear?"

"Bugs, I miss the nice normal bugs from back home," Al wondered if Melvin got the water out.

He was still a bit confused, but he tried hard to rationalize what the hunter was saying. "I guess....compared to big, giant ones, the smaller ones you can step on are a lot better than ones that can eat you." He said with a small smile.
"At least you can get ride of the small ones with RID." You couldn't stomp on the ones in the Sahara. They were either too big or too many. He ...tried not to think about it.

"What?..." Al gave Melvin a look like he was mental. "I mean to like... catch and collect and admire?..."

Melvin gave Al an almost identical look back. "What? Why would you want to catch and admire bugs?!" The Lifer took one step back from the hunter as if he was crazy - which he probably was.
Really crazy.

"Because bugs are cool!" He spoke with conviction. There was no question in his tone that bugs, were in fact, the coolest.

Melvin's mouth went agape as he stared wide-eyed at the other hunter. "Ne-No they're not! They are disgusting, revolting, gross...th-" He couldn't even process how much he hated bugs to form all the words. 'THINGS!" He nearly dropped his towel as he threw his hands out in front of him as if stating simple fact.
"Why the hell would you think they were cool?! Do you think SPIDERS care cool? Do you think ROACHES are cool?! Do you think...think CENTIPEDES are cool?!!!" His voice was echoing in the men's room and more than a few hunters looked there way before, after Melvin hunched a little, went back to ignoring them.

"Yes, all of those are cool. Even the arachnids and chilopoda. Hell, all arthropods are pretty amazing. They are NOT gross. They are simply hard working cleaners. They can't help it if people make a lot of grime." His arms slid together across his chest in a defensive gesture. "What's the deal anyway, you don't see me insulting your things."

"BUGS PRODUCE GRIME!" He said in retaliation. "Only filthy people have bugs around them. The rest of us are clean and insects STILL come into our homes. And they're not your things. That's just weird. Why would you want to claim ownership on bugs as a whole? Did your mom drop you on your head too many tim - "
Melvin, you need to stop. Just because they don't feel the same way you do doesn't mean you can insult their intelligence. You also happen to have ME as a weapon.
Melvin gritted his teeth to stop himself. "S..sorry...I'm....just saying," He continued, slowly and with restraint. "...that bugs by their very nature are disgusting. We evolved to dislike them. It's a natural reaction to something that harms us."

"They have been here longer than us. Doing what they do. They will still be here long after we are gone." His tone was clipped out between clenched teeth. "If you can't appreciate the beauty in them that is your loss, no mine."

"So have rocks." Melvin said, striking down the logic. "Just because they are here longer doesn't make them beautiful. It just makes them stubborn and hellspawn." He pointed out, but waved it off. "As long as they are away from me, you can keep them." If someone could get their jollies off of bugs, he guessed anyone could find beauty in anything. He was sure there was some guy admiring toilet paper too.
"I'm sure you'll love the Sahara then. They are filled with all sorts of bugs that want to murder you, tear your face off, or eat you. You can have a party with them." He pointed out, guessing that Al would probably be the few people able to keep their wits about them when surrounded by a wall of insects. He shuddered at the thought. Gross. He nearly lost his marbles the last time that happened and had to be talked down.
Ugh, he felt sick now, and he covered his mouth with one hand just thinking about it.
