"Okay..." She wasn't too confident in doing any of those things, but at least she could try.
This time, she grabbed for his wrist and tried to pull him off-balance.

Shun stumbled forward some as she yanked him forward. He came back around and nodded.
"Good. You can apply the same basics to a kick."
He summoned his blades at his point.
"Or a knife attack. If a strike is coming in from above, move your arm up like this," he stated while showing the block, "You'll still want to move off to the side if possible. A slip up here means a cut."
The reaper moved in with a slow downwards stab towards her chest.

If she hadn't seen him do that before, not to mention Hel summoning her spear the other day, she might have been a lot more alarmed. As it was, Estel simply jumped backwards, raising her arms defensively. "How can you do that? Where were those before?"

"I'm a reaper. Reapers either have a weapon or a familiar, in which they can summon, created from their own fear. These daggers are my reaper weapon," he stated. Shun made a vague motion to the multitude of other small blades on his person, "The rest of my knives are normal blades. I can't summon or dismiss them."
Rolling his shoulders, he moved in with another slow strike.
"Try to deflect my blow. Two more times, then we'll move into real practice."

Estel stepped in to deflect the blow the way he had shown her. "I see! And Hel has both, but only one or the other at a time? Because her familiar turns into a spear?"

"Hel's case is different. The only reason why she's capable of shifting it is because she had acquired an artifact that allows her to do so," Shun explained before taking a step back.
"Are you ready to put these techniques into practice? Or try to?"

Try to. That was the key word there, wasn't it.
Estel answered with an optimistic "Maybe!" and dropped into a defensive stance. "I'll try, anyway!"

Shun rolled his shoulders and moved into more of a fighting stance. The time for slow strikes was over. His good eye narrowed as he watched her, as if waiting for her to move first.

All of the preamble had made her nervous, but Estel took a deep breath and aimed a punch at Shun all the same. It wasn't one of her best.

Shun began to move the moment he saw her do the same. He shifted to the side, blocking the punch with his forearm, before, aiming a slice towards her side.

Estel brought her arms down defensively in exactly the wrong way, the dagger cutting across her forearm. The ghost hissed in pain and backed away. A glowing crack had formed on her skin where the dagger had cut her.

Shun didn't say anything yet, and moved in to keep up the offensive for now. He came at her with his other blade, making for a stab, in a way that he had during their pre-spar exercises. Only faster.

Estel brought her forearm up to try and shove Shun's arm to the side, moving a fraction closer and attempting to step down on his foot, hard. Her eyes were wide and panicked.

Shun let out a grunt as she stomped on his foot. It was enough to cause him to stumble a little, and such, he attempted to push Estel back to give him a moment to recover.
